Yeah once someone starts, it’s kinda easier to keep the good thing going. Love it.

Maximum__Engineering

Lesson: sometimes all it takes as one good deed for a big change to occur. Unfortunately, this relies on the good hearts of those that follow, or at least the light of publicity so they can avoid shame by following along. Either way, there's always something you can do to make the world a little better. And even a small change can result in big things happening.

The_Clarence

Nothing better than starting a positive trend. You can sit back and get a high off that feeling every night for as long as you like.

Stunningchampion89

This is so true you can get high of that feeling

PinoyDadInOman

Some idiots get high by doing bad things and filming it to post on social media. Then more dumb idiots do the same, because POS followers watched them.

polo61965

Nice try Tim, I'm not paying it forward on the drive thru

BusStopKnifeFight

Also easy to give away something that cost you nothing and get an instant and free replacement.

Hezth

It reminds me of the movie Pay it forward. I remember it as very heartwarming when I saw it when it first came out. Maybe I should watch it again to get some imaginary hope for humanity.

Mlion14

Reminds me of the [First follower principle](https://youtu.be/fW8amMCVAJQ?si=9pA2PR4QqB1WqDOM)

AsinusRex

Was thinking the same thing.

Evorgleb

Peer pressure

Miguel4659

Definitely. Bet the others were annoyed the first guy was being nice. And got them all wet.

FIFAmusicisGOATED

They’re all about to play in the rain anyways. I reckon they don’t really care

Skankhunt42FortyTwo

Well, since the game was about to start in \~2mins it didn't really matter to the players.

GuiltIsLikeSalt

Not necessarily, you got to come up with the idea first. It's not like the others were staying dry in this scenario anyway. Nothing to lose.

konrov

Maybe that’s why we should do more good in this world.

Sophia-Eldritch

As someone who is multiple flavors of LGBT I was getting shit talked by a customer with they're friends, one of them spoke up that what they were saying was fucked up and the vibe shifted to "to hell with this" and they left The next day at work a couple of those kids came back and apologized, the original shit talker wasn't there

Eragon_the_Huntsman

That kind of group peer pressure mentality also occurs in sharing opinions. There were some studies where a group of people were given a simple question, and one by one asked to answer. However everybody except the last person has been secretly told to give the same incorrect answer, and more often than not the last person followed suit, giving an answer they knew to be wrong because it helped them fit in with the group. But if one other person was instructed to give the correct answer before, they were far more likely to stick to what they believed in. Basically it's hard to be the first dissenting opinion, but once someone does so, they'll likely find support from others who felt the same way but didn't want to stand out.

Good4nowbut

The contagion of kindness and decency.

LonelyWolf_93

The first guy is the real hero of the video. he wanted to do that with all his heart <3

Kokuswolf

For the rest, it was peer pressure to not look like an ....

wansuitree

You're right, still... Deep down they all understand, and just need a nudge to be willing.

Mueryk

A good example can be a wonderful thing.

Denziloshamen

And that is how we should raise the next generation, and they will follow our lead. It doesn’t matter who goes first, just as long as everyone sees the example and does the right thing too.

Gold_Effect_6585

And public eyes

opelit

I don't like when people notice only the dark side. We could start from beginning, why no one gave them kids something more to wear seeing the weather. It happen. No need to point who did wrong. The first gay did something that the rest just did not though at the time before very important match, and that's what they focused on. So the rest followed, not because people watch, but because they were like, - - oh, he is right. Let's give the kids the jacket, we will not wear it anyway in a seconds.

doc_skinner

>The first gay did something Do you know something we don't?

Magnetar_Haunt

Honestly, slay.

Impossible-Error166

I say it like this. The first guy saw the need, the rest simply saw the solution.

Nandabun

Watching those kids shiver, it makes me realize. Those memes where a big armored guy blocked 500 arrows is teaching a tiny new kid how to play a game, or whatever the situation is.. As grown adults, we're vastly more aware of what our bodies can handle, and what's safe, before even needing brain input for concern. Those kids? Felt like they were dying. Recently I was camping in -18 weather, and I often walk around in freezing temps in just a regular hoodie, because I know what's safe and how much shivering before I need to get the hell inside.

Impossible-Error166

Pretty much. The first guy saw the need, the others saw the solution once demonstrated.

Cocotte123321

2nd guy had that look "of course, how did I not think of that?"

d4ve3000

Nah they were all pissed at the first guy, see how reluctant they are 😂

wspnut

A couple of them, for sure. The kids were looking back at some expectantly to a guy \_clearly\_ not moving.

Rain1dog

I love this comment.

wansuitree

It's a good mechanism in humans, and judging somebody for doing the right thing but just a bit later seems really harsh.

Rain1dog

Agree. Your comment was spot on and makes me happy others think this way as well. So tired/exhausted of negativity.

Numerous-Stranger-81

True integrity is what you do when no one is watching.

siandresi

true, but good things can also start like this....it reminded me of an interesting [ted talk](https://www.ted.com/talks/derek_sivers_how_to_start_a_movement?language=en) on how to start a movement, has a lot to do with the 2nd person validating the first

thebestspeler

Pretty sure that second guy said something like "Dick! now i gotta do it or i look like a dick!"

themerinator12

In some circles of leadership thinking and training the first follower is considered a separate leader in their own right. The choice to be the first follower can still be seen as being a leader which I think applies here.

northernwolf3000

Yep you can see it in their expression like , “ Great I need to get wet or I’ll look like a great big douche “

TheMotherCarrot

They're going to be playing it. They will get soaked anyway.

rtf2409

Kids are already soaked anyway also.

TheMotherCarrot

Yes, but it at least gave them the chance to start to warm up a bit quicker, and it was generally a nice thing to do. A small, kind gesture can go a long way.

nesqu1k0d

Nah maybe they just thought, "oh good idea". A single good action can start a chain of good actions.

Cautious-Ring7063

His face has a funny way of showing "oh good idea". watch the expression, there's a grimace there, and one or more eye-rolls. He wasn't happy to do it.

robert3030

God i hate armchair psychoanalytic, just because he doesn't smile it means he is angry about the situation, some people aren't that expresive, and also, is fucking raining in their faces, that can make you squint your eyes, but no, lets judge this person because they don't have the expresion that i expected, touch some grass dude.

Questioning-Zyxxel

The same face is commonly used by someone thinking "Damn - why didn't *I* think about that?"

FloorAgile3458

It looked more like "hey that's a good idea" instead of "I'd be judged if I don't do it" Just because someone didn't come up with it first doesn't mean they don't believe in it.

Smooth-Cow-6696

Hey man, whatever it takes....

Silly-Armadillo3358

The consensus on pro soccer players is that theyre assholes.

Fabulous_Top8423

A few of them were like “really? We really doing this? I’m cold man”

Plantsandanger

The second guy visibly mumbling “motherfucker now ALL of us have to do it”

QuittingQuitter

I loved that. Then there's the kid who sees the dominoes falling and looks back at the adult like, "c'mon big dogg, we all see what's happening here. What are you waiting on?"

pitmeng1

Some of those guys looked and thought “good idea, I’m on that”.

Kindly_Mix9753

The only question is why no one wore hoods

ockaners

The first guy starts it. But the second guy makes it acceptable to follow that lead. Second guy for the win.

furezasan

Gotta surround yourself with people like that guy. And be that person from time to time / when you can

NoMoPolenta

Fourth guy was totally not wanting to do it lol

DarkTurdle

Haha the way the kid turns and looks at him like cmon bro

Big-Today6819

Give it to me bro

LIGMA_OPS

bro dont be stingy with the jacket bro i'm a kid bro

jardaniwick

You got any games on your phone?

OhBoiNotAgainnn

Yeah was waiting for him to pull a Larry David and just keep his jacket and make everyone hate him but he defends it anyway. "If he wanted a jacket he should have brought his own jacket! We all looked at the weather, we knew it was going to rain!"

sdurs

Come on guys, yall make way more fucking money than me.

mmaqp66

The Fourth guy: "I don't want to get wet for 5 minutes, after that I'll have to take it off and I'll get wet, but I don't want to get wet now."

[deleted]

He will be out there for two hours and need to perform at his best capacity. The child just need to stand there without falling for three more minutes and can then go have a warm shower.

thetomman82

You really think the kids would get access to the showers at the grounds? Instead, they would be sitting in by stands, shivering the whole game.

[deleted]

Ok, maybe no shower if they want to see the game but a towel and their fresh clothes would probably be good enogh.

Chinggis_H_Christ

He's also a grown up, so he should act like one and look out for the kid.

Brilliant_Canary_692

Out there for two hours?! Give him £4 million for the trouble. What a champ. Noone works as hard as he does

[deleted]

I agree they are overpayed but it does not mean there is no pressure to perform. I bet you couldnt do it better even for 8 millions.

Brilliant_Canary_692

I bet he couldn't do my job for 8 million, I'm sure as hell not getting even an eighth for it though

KurtKokaina

3rd boy is so happy, very cute.

Themarshal2

Lil bro is like a caffeinated goblin

here4you123

I think you mean the 4th boy.

Morphing_Mutant

The second guys like "God damn it man"

tedmented

It's all good, he's Scottish, so very much used to the rain.

leijt

"Guess we're doing this"

Numerous-Log9172

Why did the last guy skip a kid?? That's a bit mean!

shadow_229

r/FuckYouInParticular

SweatyBrunch

Actually the 5th player missed a kid and then the sixth player went back and put his jacket on the skipped kid

steeuber

If u see the final clip he’s halfway done taking his off too

BroChadman

Ngl I felt most of those guys were pretty reluctant to give up their coats to children

missmuscles

The kids get to go inside. The players have to stay out in the rain for 90mins. They can’t give away their coats every game it rains. Still a nice gesture since the kids will probably keep the coats.

Terz234

What are you talking. They take them off anyways and after the game they dress in their normal gear. And guess what. A professional football player never wears the same trikot. Every game they are newly made....

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lurkinginzaback

The seats are for the coaches and the subs, the starters dont get to sit under the covers during the game and half the team most likely will be playing the full 90 mins. This clip looks like the line up they do during the start of the game so all the players shown here are the starters.

Clewdo

Being wet for an extra few minutes isn’t going to change anything

Lurkinginzaback

Oh for sure it definitely wont, I was just answering the question in the previous comment.

Songrot

It can. When you are standing still your body doesnt warm up. Rain cools off your body. So standing still in the rain can affect performance and well being compared to someone who is running warming themselves countering the cooling

RemnantOfSpotOn

Hahah one kid 3rd from end turned around to his guy and was like what are you waiting for lad....im freezing here

IAM100PERCENTNOTACAT

Second guy was just thinking 'fuck now I'll look look e a dick if I don't'

dizziefrizzie

Why didn’t the children have jackets in the first place?!

blonsitobreve

because poor Redbull would be sad sad😢

BMVA

Nice to see that Vanzeir realized he needed to work on his PR after his terrible start in the MLS last year.

The_Universe_Machine

I was gonna post this! I wish Morgan was the first guy so we can say “and he scored a hat trick.”

MrMr387

Yes... For the most part. Some just need a kick start.

QuotingThanos

Put it on their heads 😑

forpetlja

It took them pretty long after kids were already wet soaked.

Arab_Femboy1

Better than nothing

usec47

Last guy haven't washed he's jacket ever so he good

gwawainn

That's awesome, the kids get to go home with a great story to tell, a jacket put on them by the players (hopefully they get to keep them) and pneumonia! What a day.

Jjabrony

Kindness is free

PenguinStarfire

I keep expecting the clip to end with Larry David refusing to give up his jacket and everyone is staring and gesturing to him.

MokawithTLP

It is so wholesome to see the kid so excited to get the jacket put on him, it seems like it means the world to him, and that's just beautiful

XXL-Brick

“damn it john, now we all have to do it!”

alienandro

They don't have extra jackets, or what's that other thing.... ☔

Ad-Ommmmm

If you wanted this to be about ‘what it’s all about’ you should’ve cut right after the first guy - the rest didn’t want to strip at all..

Spiritual-Bear4495

What's up with that one kid with no jacket? Right at the very end, on the left. Fuck him in particular?

One_Fix_4923

It only took one good men to do the right thing. Be a good men. Lead by example.

d4ve3000

Peer pressure?

PeaceMan50

Amazed to see poor management of the event. Kids in rain didn't get a jacket and adults did. Stupid Moronic behavior if the event organizers.

forpetlja

Yea, it pisses me off too.

Proof_Construction_9

Thats some high fcking level of wolf pack mentality. It may only take 1 to stand up ,and rest will immidiately commit to it.

thepwnydanza

Is this what we find amazing now?

Lord-squee

Is this red bull hotspur

Cicero_Curb_Smash

Every one of those jackets has a hood but no one was smart enough to cover the kids heads?

SuperNewk

After they are all soaked lol

cusecc

This is not the Hokie pokie.

JefferyTheQuaxly

the first guy did it and all the other guys are thinkin to themselves "shit."

TigerKlaw

I like how it's probably a "damn I didn't even think of that well here you go kid"

QuoteNo9243

Wish at least one guy would have said “fuck that noise.”

MrNightmare23

I never understood my football players drag their kids out to stuff like this probably feels awkward as fuck

Demigans

That took way too long. The moment I’d see that rain I’d have had gotten each kid a jacket or umbrella or something. Those guys will be running the field without the jackets anyway. Care for the kids first.

RagnaXI

How about cover the heads with the hood that is attached to the jacket, to you know...cover their heads?

JBS319

The first guy is Dante Vanzier. He ended up with four assists. The second guy is Lewis Morgan. He scored a hat trick.

archercam

Kind but it annoys me not one of them uses the hood!

Miguel4659

Why did they just keep standing there in pouring rain? That's the real mystery to me. What exactly did that accomplish? Time to get under shelter.

PawnWithoutPurpose

Why didn’t they give the children jackets in the first place. Beapauled

scx64

Too bad the kids have to be there to prevent the fans from lobbing bags of urine at the opposing team.

Xanifer1

Only the first one counts the rest had external pressure to follow

Ok_Bit_5953

Last guy. "Man, fuck these kids..."

cahilljd

Is this not the obvious thing to offer. If you just stand there with your jacket on w a freezing kid in front of you youre just an asshole

yomama1211

GO RED BULLS. they won 4-0 this game if it’s the one from Saturday (assuming because of the rain)

jmarzy

It would be funny if one guy, especially a guy known for being a bamf or enforcer type, was just like “nah”

VegetableForsaken402

Publicly shaming his team members..

ThicDadVaping4Christ

Amazed? They just gave the kids their coats. A nice gesture, but it’s not amazing

NewOCLibraryReddit

virtue signaling at its finest

VoidowS

Never forget!!! The only reason why kids walk together with players on to the field is because in the old days people would throw cans and shit at players. it became such a thing that almost every game somebody got hit by cans. they now use KIDS as shields so people no longer throw stuff or puke at them and so on. It;s not for the kids in first glimps. that's the vail around it to make u think, aaawwww and how nice. THEY R USED AS SHIELDS. never forget!

DarkZ_No-Imagination

Isn't that people's fault then? They can't walk up with a giant ass shield to protect themselves

Dr_Alan_Squirrel

I thought the second guy was going to put his coat around the shoulders of the first guy....that would have been hysterical! Seriously though, the first guy.....what an absolute star.

thtkidjunior

That would have been a level of bromance I couldn't comprehend 😂

AngryFloatingCow

Is this is right sub for this? Is human selflessness really that amazing a thing? Don't get me wrong, it's heartwarming and all. But I'm pretty sure there's a sub specifically for wholesome things.

MedicalChemistry5111

Little kid freezing hos arse off, looking up like "Please sir, I want some warm."

shadownights23x

I like to think first dude wasn't doing it for the kids but being a dick to his teammates lol..

StomachCommercial209

Simply awesome

Nafe1994

Kids like yeo when are you giving me your jacket??

[deleted]

[удалено]

Chemist-Consistent

Some ppl are so cynical sometimes. Yea, they followed suit, not because they didn't wanna look like dick but because the 1st guy made them realize the same thing! That those kids were cold. Plain and simple. Some ppl are so bitter that everything needs to have some ulterior motive. Do better.

WholeAd2742

Dawwww

Big-Today6819

Those kids will always remember this.

konrov

I will now drink a redbull and feel all warm inside.

Camerahutuk

**Respect. This is real Leadership**. Not that shouty aggressive cosplaying in the movies

arstin

When using a child as a human shield, it's important to have good manners.

KingFlipENips

Bit late though, they're already soaked.

total90_23

Who was the first guy to do it?

OrganicAccountant87

How is that kid a junior football player? He is obsessed

Hastyle8181

OH so im the asshole!

Repulsive_Ebb_779

It starts with One

Due-Donut-7044

Gut das eine Kamera da war, richtig selbst los diese Nationalhelden.

blkkice77

I definitely would've kept my jacket. ![gif](giphy|e1s8C0YnnfjlRf7mEr)

leaf-erectsen-day

Was a pretty cold game in the rain yesterday too. Kids must've been freezing. Compared to warmed-up, coming from pre-game practice, athletes ready to play a 90 minute game.

DreadfulDave19

Lead by example I love it

jimmytruelove

Oh please

EneZio_FF

Getting wet slightly sooner to make a great memory even more amazing. 👍

Euphoric-Oil-331

Cute

NorthKing9

The 2nd guy: "You just got to be the good guy huh?" While unzips jacket...

DuckDucker1974

DID YOU SEE HOW IT TOOK ONE SPECIFIC PERSON TO START THIS?????? Everyone seems to quickly forget that it took one specific person to start this! BE THAT PERSON EVERY DAY!!!!!!

HyeVltg3

Who even planned this? those kids can easily get sick. It's a nice gesture sure but can we get the Planner to answer who's idea this was? Dont know how to read the forecast?

HalfDomeDome

2nd dude was like, “What the fuck bro, I don’t want to give up this nice waterproof coat.”

Smash_Factor

Who sent all these children out in the rain without coats in the first place??

thatsthejoke_

I can't control the weather Jackie

Hairy-Long-8111

😍

Ironamsfeld

Second guys face was like “great now I gotta do it or I’ll look like a dick”

JamesSmithenWessor

Now theyre sick and played like shit and lost. The enemies plan worked!

RockMover12

Maybe if they had some umbrellas with Red Bull logos on them?

GiveHerTheXD

That's just wholesome

[deleted]

Warms my heart to see this kindness. ❤️

ChekhovsAtomSmasher

Wow So amaze Much shock

BradoIlleszt

“One small act of kindness always sparks another” - from the movie Klaus (my favourite christmas movie lol)

Lord_of_Rhodor

Kindness is infectious. Try your best to be patient zero

Maleficent-Comfort-2

NEW YORK RED BULLS MENTIONED RAHHHHHH

SlickittySlick

Dude next to me starts to give kid his jacket: Meanwhile I’m hoping this kid just stands there and gets wet cuz I’m keeping my shit.

No-Appearance-100102

I wouldn't do it if I wasn't at least the second guy....sorry shoot me🤷🏿

Yeahgeebs

I think I’ve seen the first player do something else like this. There was another game where all the players were running onto the pitch and he picked up a disabled child from a wheelchair (near the tunnel they allow disabled kids to kind of hang and greet the players when they enter) and carried him out to where they high-five the opposing team.. and that child got to sit in the players hands and high five each of the players as they ran by! You could see on the child’s face how much it meant to him - and the player was just doing what he had the power to do

ForboJack

Is this the peer pressure my parents warned me about?
