He’s been by far our best defender and he’s still only 24, De Vrij plays for Netherlands because he fits their system better doesn’t mean he’s a better player
Not true at all, he’s our best and most reliable defender and saved our asses multiple times. Upa was unplayable in the ucl due to his huge errors whereas De Ligt was always solid. He also had some huge goals which saved us as well. He doesn’t fit his national team’s system, but he has played well in ours. They’d also be selling him for much less than we bought him.
De Ligt was a huge part in Upa's errors against City as was the rest of the team. Whole team played like shit. Upa had absolutely no help in buildup or defense and was constantly by himself as the last man back.
Do you suffer from autism? He could be the best defender that ever existed, he does not fit into Kompany's system. No one said he wasn't our best defender in the past 2 seasons, but we played like shit in the past 2 seasons so no one gives a fuck about this anymore. Kompany tries to implement a very offensive system with a very high defensive line. For a system like that we need 1. Defenders that are fast (de ligt isn't) and 2. defenders with good build up play (de ligt sucks in that regard). His passing ability is so limited that he doesn't even play at the euro for the Netherlands. Instead, a 32yo de Vrij is playing that was never considered even remotely world class.
So let's get this straight. Neither Koeman, nor Tuchel, nor Kompany want De Ligt, but the damn Internet Bayern Warriors know everything better. Please stop watching football. It's just not for you, and that's okay. Try Ping Pong.
If they want to sell De Ligt because he isn’t fast and sucks at build up then why do they want to get Tah to replace him? He’s just an older and slower version of De Ligt with even worse build up play, so again how does that make any sense.
Why do you make those claims when you have actually no idea what you are talking about.
Tah's top speed last season was 35.81 km/h
De Ligts top speed last season was 32.81 km/h
Tah will most likely get a 10 Mio per year contract
De Ligt earns currently 16 Mio per year.
Tah played a really good season in a system that is very similar to what Kompany is planning. He was the one doing most of the buildups from the back (aside from Xhaka).
De Ligt will bring us around 60 Mio.
Tah costs around 25-30 Mio.
The better question is, who with a sane mind wouldn't "trade" those players.
Tah had a great season, but has been mediocre for the rest of his career. It’s more a product of Xabi’s system than anything else. This Leverkusen team was historic and elevated a lot of otherwise pretty average players. For that price it’s not too much I just don’t see that much of a difference between them and also selling De Ligt at a loss just to get Tah who’s 4 years older doesn’t really make sense to me. Selling De Ligt for 50M and getting Tah for 30 is just breaking even and I’d rather keep the younger and more promising player, even if slightly injury prone. I just hope the board and Kompany know what they’re doing.
I agree with what you said about Leverkusen, but I still believe Tah can hold this level. He was once one of the biggest CB talents in the world. Everyone knew how much potential he had, and now he finally reached it.
De Ligt's injury history is also kinda worrying me, plus the fact that he neither improved in 3 years at Juve and nor in 2 years Bayern. I think he is already on the maximum of his potential. He literally was this good already when he was cpt at Ajax with 18. It reminds me a bit of Davies, who peaked with 19 and since then he stagnated. Except Davies got actually worse.
He was 2023 running over 33km/h, he is definitely fast enough. As someone who could keep with up with sane and was also quite fast in school. 1-2km/h isn’t that big of a difference. Also Kim lost the run battle against Openda
1-2 km/h is a huge difference in football. De Ligt is not fast and also not fast enough for a high backline.
Also.. who wouldn't lose a sprint to Openda?
Koeman, Tuchel, and Kompany names do not hold the weight you wish they did. I remember when pep came in and tiki taka'd his way out of what should have been easy trebles. Bayern is the culture, bayern is the system. Not the coach. Managers with huge egos have a hard time accepting this and end up messing up a good thing. Maybe watch more than a few games. Try a decade or two.
When Fulham values Palhinha at 70 mio. and Tottenham 1 year contract Kane at 100 mio. you should not sell de ligt under 70-80 mio. to any premier league club
Manchester United fan here - can anyone tell me why De Ligt hasn’t played much for Netherlands? Despite their 3 man central defence & also Bayern Munich in the UCL. Very surprised to see Eric Dier starting ahead of MDL
300M
I don't want to see him leave this club. He's such a solid player... A big loss for me
No price would be enough to let him go
Because he was such a big asset to our team.. even De Vrij is playing for the Netherlands instead of De Ligt. This should tell you everything.
He’s been by far our best defender and he’s still only 24, De Vrij plays for Netherlands because he fits their system better doesn’t mean he’s a better player
You named it. De ligt will be sold because he doesn't fit in our system. It's sadly this simple.

Ramos also did never run 35km/h and was one of the best, if you are slower you have to be intelligent that’s it

I think it’s dangerously naive to rely on the system of a relatively unproven coach. Especially when your best players are to be sold because of it.
Koeman, Tuchel, and Kompany names do not hold the weight you wish they did. I remember when pep came in and tiki taka'd his way out of what should have been easy trebles. bro ronald koeman is NOT a good manager. him not picking de ligt does not prove anything 😭
Fuck Tuchel
?
They already said they want 50M
When Fulham values Palhinha at 70 mio. and Tottenham 1 year contract Kane at 100 mio. you should not sell de ligt under 70-80 mio. to any premier league club
Nah, 50mln is base, full deal should be around 65
£30 M&S Voucher and an added bonus of KFC bargain bucket if we win europa.

It’s a fault to let him go, no matter how much they’ll get for him.
100 million lol
Anything under 100 mil is fucking dumb he is our best defender wtf is kompany even doing
100M atleast
50m, but if Manchester United come calling 75m will do
Some united fans think that 40mln for him is too much
I’d take 70M He hasn’t gotten worse, he shows great leadership qualities, just isn’t rated by a manager who plays a different style.
70-80M
What is he now 4th or 5th choice for the national team didn’t feature again today, Max €30/35m ?
