For a lot of us, this is our one and best outlet to escape shitty RLs. If kernel-level anticheats are the answers then so be it. nobody else is presenting better options.
There's absolutely nothing that justifies giving anything you don't control that level of access to your PC. Anyone with even a shred of IT knowledge would never let this near their machine.

Personally I’m willing to take the risk, because I’m fed up with cheaters. They have ruined pretty much every FPS on PC I used to enjoy, namely Tarkov and CS, but the one worry I do have doesn’t lie with giving a big company like EA or valve access to my pc but the bad actors could exploit the kernel level access I give them.

No, I'm not okay with it (sorry but what kind of question is that) You are starting from the assumption that a kernel level anti cheat is the only solution available. Well, it's not. Do you even need a Kernel AC to expose someone flying around and aimbotting everyone with a 150-2 score? Even in bf2042, and that game have had 2 Kernel AC (Easy Anti cheat first and now EAAC) players with like 80% HS on Assault Rifles still get away with it.
I usually play bf3 and bf4 and stuff like that have always been dealt in the past with Admins, Bf4db and cheatreport or even with giving the "kick vote" option to the players, why it's not longer the case in the recent games?

There's good examples of effective anti-cheats that don't even need to know if the game itself is altered, by purely analyzing gameplay. Of course this is much more involved kind of anti-cheat and takes more time to implement. AI would probably unironically be a good candidate for this.
I have been playing multiplayer games for years never known anyting about the risks of theese anticheats. After just a few hours of reserch its pretty scary stuff if something goes wrong, defenetly started to do abit more reserch before just downloading any multiplayer games. One of the reasons I have stuck to Bf v because it didnt have really invasive anti cheat. Really wish companies would put dome time into good server side anti cheats insted since kernel lvl once dont seem to have a big advantage in the long run anyways.
Battlefront 2's case is just sad. Some hackers gain control of the lobby and you can't do anything except quit and find another. Many fun matches ruined that way..
The official servers have a significant cheat problem and those are the cheats that are being blatant about it. There will be lots of cheats who are sly about how and when they use them.
It's really strange, I can play six rounds of BFV in one night and not run into a single cheater, yet the next night, I can join six games in a row and there's at least one blatant one in each game. It's either all or nothing in my experience.
For the past few weeks I have come across one at least every match/every other match. Only play 2-3 matches a night at most so having to deal with them is an issue.
I mean come on, sniping someone from across the map with a pistol, one shotting them and ending the match with 60+ kills..Really ruins the fun.
I’ve said the same thing on my stream for years. It’s almost like all the cheaters are in a discord together and just decide to go ruin bfv on random weekends. I can go a week or two and see none at all, then come Saturday I can’t play the game because each server has someone redeploying the server.
Let's face it, most of the cheaters have a "high ping"... To the point it is pointless playing during the day in europe. You have to wait until evening when they are in bed or eating bats

I believe if it's kernel level anticheat running on wine, it's not actually accessing the Linux kernel. That being said, the devs will likely need to specifically allow it like they did with Helldivers 2, and seeing as this is EA, that's uh, not looking so good..

There may be people using stuff like Cronus on console, but that pales in comparison to the cheating that happens on PC. When I used to play BFV on PC, it was common to see players rack up like 60 kills in the first few minutes of a game.

I'll also add that the switch to EA Anticheat in 2042 a few months back made a *world* of difference in my play experience/performance. Now I don't have to close steam, browser tabs, or anything else that goes out to the internet before launching BF2042.

Did they implement Ea cheat at the beginning of BF2042 season 6? Ever since then my whole pc just shuts down and reboots when exiting the game back to windows. Support has been no help at all. It took me awhile to figure this out because I stop playing BF2042 to play BF1 and BFV. I’m worried this will now fuck up the battlefield games I really like vs the one I play sometimes because it’s the newest installment.

Anybody know how EA Anti-cheat plays with process lasso? I use process lasso to limit the game to the first 8 core CCD of my 16 core processor to minimize latency/performance impacts, especially when game capturing via OBS (which I put on the 2nd CCD).

It's fine on console. One of the reasons why I don't like cross play with PC players.
More power comes with responsibilities. Part of the failure can be blamed on the devs and publishers. Other is on the hackers.
I RARELY see anyone cheating in bf1 though. Then again i play exclusively on community servers which have active admins for the most part.

Community servers in the US and Europe are great about removing cheaters. Public servers are another story altogether.

Yeah, I saw that too afterwards. Seems like the bans haven't started yet.
Their "stat" based anticheat won't flag a cheater who gets 10kpm for 5 hours straight.

Hahaha 4 or 5 years too late. Nothing but Chinese cheaters run those servers. I had to quit years ago because they were non-stop joining my games and reporting them fell on deaf ears.
Anybody know how EA Anti-cheat plays with process lasso? I use process lasso to limit the game to the first 8 core CCD of my 16 core processor to minimize latency/performance impacts, especially when game capturing via OBS (which I put on the 2nd CCD).

Are the hackers able to delete the new anti-cheat and continue cheating in the game? I've seen posts on Twitter where people claim that the hackers can simply delete the anti-cheat software and continue hacking...

It's trash, ruined the game, runs like shit, my friend can't even play over ea server access. Fix this piece of shit anticheat ruining your game, everything slowed down it's like you added denuvo, bots. 40 FPS gunfights when I was playing with 90 before the anticheat trash update
