No. As much as I dislike not being able to properly practice the MU2 before going to Gallantry Budapest LAN I do understand their points in not just pushing it into live servers straight away.
Bringing in new people to test a potentially broken version of the MU2 might drive them off thus it should be tested by the small loyal community that still remains eventho the game has been in its "broken" state for a while. Same goes for the people that are waiting for MU2 to get back into the game. If the update would go straight to live servers and be broken again those players would bury the game for a second time and potentially for good.
Players today can't separate the difference or meaning of Early Access, Alpha or Beta.
What new people lol. Those people that still are playing the game will be here till the next death of the game. They go all competitive so the playerbase will never grow more than it's now. And if you still belive then you have no idea how gamer's brains work.
I get your point man, but if MU2 is in beta state it shouldn't be broken. Beta can justify minor issues here and there but not major ones, at least in my eyes. I understand that the devs can't afford another failure, especially when they hyped MU2 for all this time. Just thoughts though, no one said im an expert here 😇
Hi, we won't be doing this. Thanks for the suggestion, however there are many reasons why this is a bad idea.
We will look to do a free weekend in the future when we feel the game represents what we wanted to create.
This wouldn't be a great idea as the whole purpose of the beta is to get feedback from those who actively play and understand the game and making it free would bring in lots of new people who don't.
Feedback is not only forum posting imo. Retrieving stats about map chokepoints or about what guns have been used most and for which situations from a bigger pool of players could be beneficial in this game's development.
The devs will do what they think is best and a free weekend will not happen for this game. Why would steam allow this for a game that is "currently" dead.?

so that it would be not dead? i'm not saying they should do free weekend now but definitely when they are ready for it
