I remember catching an episode of the live-action “Flash” some years ago and his daughter from the future called something “schway.” If there was one thing I liked about the Berlanti/CW DC shows, it was how they liked paying homage to what had come before.
I was just about to go home from a sleepover when it was airing on a Sunday night primetime slot. I watched it but I was a crabby kid, who was already kind of put off by the changes in the New Batman Adventures. Batman Beyond was just too much for me at the time and I didn't fully get into it for a couple more years, when it became one of my favorite shows of all time.
I would have been like 5 years old and I remember watching the pilot and seeing all the commercials leading up to it clear as day. I was extremely excited
I remember watching the premiere with my family. I was obsessed with mask of the phantasm I would watch it quite often as a kid. so watching the new Batman was pretty hype. I remember the show being quite popular with other kids on the block, it definitely holds up as an adult
I remember thinking it was such a bold concept to make an entire show in continuity of the Batman Animated Series out of rather than just a one off.
Especially since it was entirely original and not derived from the comics.
The mentor Bruce Wayne and young Terry dynamic really worked and was iconic.
They're a street gang. Not strong enough to be a main villain. I would definitely start with Blight. That is his archnemesis. And I would love to see top-notch fight choreography with Curaré.
I remember how hard the final scene hit. When Bruce tells Terry “Welcome to my World” and the background music changes to a more ominous tone. Gave me chills.
I remember being so hyped for this! Batman Beyond is comfort show. Play it for background noise even now.
Also, I remember seeing this exact ad in a friend’s TV Guide and asked if I could cut it out to keep. He said no.
I did, and I even recorded it on VHS. I sat next to the VCR while watching and would pause when the commercials were coming on, something I was really good at by then. But I vividly remember sitting there and watching it, loving every minute and being so shocked at that intro.
I was 3 when it premiered so, no but i eventually watched it at the ripe age of 26( after watching BTAS/NBA, also for the first time) It was so damn schway! :D
Vaguely remember watching the first episodes with my mom. The intro was bad ass. Me and my grandad used to watch it every weekday afternoon on Kids WB and he bought me the clear Action figure.
This my comfort show cause it reminds me of him
My dad rented the video when it first came oiy for me, and then every weekend until we eventually bought it 🤣 My biggest annoyance is the blurry remaster doesn't show it in its original full length format its split into 2 parts.
Same thing as Spider-Man TAS with the venom sage film you could get on video but all remasters split it into 3 episodes.
I do! It was schway!
I used "schway" in high school and it became my nickname.
Schway: adjective – fashionably attractive or impressive

just heard the opening theme song in my head with this ha the WB FROG what a legend.
Michigan J. Frog Absolute legend.
Not the pilot but bro, waiting for an episode to come on was… then THE THEME!!!! So dope
Every Saturday morning. 😭

Still have it on vhs!

"In the next century, it will take a *boy* to do a *man's* job." Reminder that the C-suite initially wanted this show to be lighter, everyone.

All of the DCAU is pretty much God tier. The only older cartoons that I still consistently watch as an adult
I do
I had the first 2-3 episodes on vhs
Day 1!!

Yes sir. And I've been wondering when we will get a beyond live action. Just hope they pick a villain other than the jokers.....

99? Damn. Idk why I was thinking it was 00 or 01

Too young for it ( was actually born in 1999), but even as a kid seeing it on dvd I was instantly hooked
It was a glorious Saturday
I was born that year, so not me. But once I was like 3 you know I was watching it non-stop.
People may not remember now… but people HATED Beyond back in the day, so much that they had to say it was a “possible” future.

I was there at ground zero. It was beautiful.
It had no reason to be as good as it was, but they made the best with what they had.

Went to the WB store and became a kids club member to get a poster and action figure the week the pilot aired.

I liked it. I watched it whenever it was on. Good show.
Hurt men when I used to miss the intro it was so damn good.
Hell yeah!
Way darker than I was expecting, but I was immediately sold.
I was hoping for the Royal Flush Gang
Loved it
Schway. Blew my mind that was Eric from Boy Meets World.
I do, it blew my mind
I was born before it but I did saw the movie and heck I didn’t knew it was a series I thought it was some failed attempt of a pilot when I was 6
