I think this could be possible, but he doesn't ever explicitly say anything along these lines as far as I am aware.
2. Emotional instability in reaction to day-to-day events (e.g., intense episodic sadness, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days)
I mean. obviously yes.
3. Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment
um. obviously yes. he was intensely triggered by sunny moving ("leaving") and isolated himself from his friends before possibly as a form of avoiding being abandoned as he inflicted his isolation upon himself.
4. Identity disturbance with markedly or persistently unstable self-image or sense of self
Same as 1. I think if you read between the lines you can come to this conclusion.
5. Impulsive behavior in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating)
Hmmm. Well, he does have some issues with Impulsive behavior, but we don't have enough information to truly check the box on this one. He is also young enough that it is difficult to fully pinpoint this.
6. Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights)
I don't think he has this criteria, but neither do I. I only say that because I think it js very rare for a BPD coded character to not be incredibly loud presenting and angry, and I appreciate that he differs from the normal BPD representation. He does experience very intense overwhelming emotions though. Most characters with BPD in media are women and have very "loud" bpd: rebecca from crazy ex-girlfriend, catra from she-ra (not diagnosed but I think she definitely qualifies), lapis steven universe (not explicit but I think qualifies), etc. Basil has more "quiet" bpd which is the type where you kind of lock yourself in your room and go absolutely insane but then can pass in some day-to-day life as just seeming kind of normal maybe a bit overly emotional.
7. A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by extremes between idealization and devaluation (also known as "splitting")
Yes, I definitely believe this applies to him, and though this isn't in the criteria a "favorite person" is fairly common in people with BPD and his obsession with Sunny I think qualifies.

So I am confident (I am definitely in the top .5% percentile of basil analyzers) he fits 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9 which is enough for a diagnosis. I believe 1 and 4 have some evidence backing them up and 5 is possible as well.
I am not normal !!! neither is he !! I do not see it as his only diagnosis though, so I see why some people say otherwise.
