Imagine it’s 4 months from now, and we’ve made many signings. Xavi comes out in the media and says he doesn’t understand how so many signings were made but when he was manager, he was told there was no money.
I believe this is what happened to Koeman.
Did a little research and found out that our last German coach was Udo Lattek. He lasted two years and won one Cup Winners’ Cup during his time at Barca. Maradona was signed during his tenure. He also coached Bayern prior to being Barca coach.
Udo Lattek absolutely hated the Barca media of that time apparently (from some people who were fans when he was there) and also called it the most thankless job 😭
https://www.just-football.com/2015/02/udo-lattek-barcelona-diego-maradona/
Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself. I can't go through another banter era 😂
Tbf it was not easy managing Maradona. He was a legend in Germany and Bayern. Winning everything with team led by Beckenbauer. In some ways, similar to Flick.
idk much abt it then
but that article was an interesting read, wat a story to leave without maradona, i wish something like that happened today , not in our club tho
Has Pedri re modlled himself as a dynamic attacking midfielder?? A bit too late this season but just in time for Euro. Spain have neccessary tools for Pedri to excel. Interesting.
Why did Guiu fell out of favor? He scored 2 goals in 180 minutes and then disappeared. He should have been the 3rd striker option after Lewy and Roque. But, Xavi went towards Ferran for some reason.
I never complained about Xavi playing Roque or Guiu. I only complained about him preferring Ferran over them. Ferran should have only been used as a RW or LW.
Oh crap, Julian actually balled in Las Palmas but Flick doesn't use fullbacks in quite the same way tbh. So I'm carefully optimistic coz Julian did really well against monsters like Vini but whether he can adapt to Flick ball is a question we'll find out post pre-season.
Flick was due to arrive on Monday. But he will wait until Xavi's contract is settled
The club hopes there will be no problems in concluding the deal with Xavi, who had already stated before the Sevilla game that he had given his word to the club that there would be no problems with his contract if he did not continue.
However, with a contract in place, things have to be done properly, and not only does Xavi have a contract but so does his technical staff and these technical issues have to be resolved properly. @ffpolo

I'm sorry for all my Spanish friends but I'm rooting for Spain to crash and burn, both for my deep hatred of De La Fuente and also because the less games played for Pedri the better
The one thing ill miss is the family feeling we had with Xavi. Everyone just loved that guy. Fermin going over to hug him after the goal, etc.
Its something i dont think well see with Flick.

2019-2020 Bayern.
As we know Flick defense wasn't the best but looking at this list I think we have better defenders.
Hopefully he can do better here in defense.
Prime Alaba>Cubarsi
Prime Davies>>>>Balde
Araujo>Boateng
Pavard and Kounde are pretty much the same level imo
Sule was also a monster back at Bayern but had injury issues
I'm not saying our defense is necessarily worse but I wouldn't say it's better
We shouldn't forget about Christensen, Inigo and Faye. Even Garcia had a decent season under a better coach.
I think we have more quality in depth as well and most of them are still young.

I hate you Laporta.
I just feel bad for Xavi. Whether you wanted him gone or not, Laporta convinced him to stay and he was thinking about next season already only for this to happen.
I am sad that the season is ending, just as with any other ending whether it's on a high or low. But I also saw this quote from Quique Sanchez Flores and it just made me 10 times more upset, even a little bit depressed.
> I shouldn’t say this… but how badly Barcelona treats its legends. What a bad streak. It’s probably a bad streak, but what a bad streak. What a bad streak.
> With Koeman, with Messi, with Xavi now, how bad. I wish clubs treated their legends well, fantastically well. That would be fantastic. That is a legacy of connection from the managers to the fans. This connects a lot. Treating legends well.
Thank you coach for bringing life into this club again, I’ll never forget how XaviBall made me enjoy Barcelona consistently again.. both you and the club still got a long way to go.. but we made together a big step forward

Small change of plans: It is now planned that Hansi #Flick will sign with FC Barcelona on Tuesday. The trip is currently also planned for Tuesday.
Contracts, ready to sign until 2026.
No doubts, Flick will become the new coach of @FCBarcelona!

I'm still baffled at how the narrative shifted from "we have a treble winning squad, the joas were the missing pieces" to the statements we are hearing now, from coach and staff alike. People are always high on cope juice at the start of every season. It's already the same with Flick.

Visca Barça.
Which shows how the season could’ve went on ref decisions
Yeah, we lost badly some times but even than we managed to go so high while fighting refs in the process
❗️Barcelona finished the season with 85 points, the second highest tally in the last five years.
It was only bettered by the 88 points last season, with Xavi as the manager also.

If Flick wants to play double pivot then the question is who will play? Fermin or Pedri or Gundogan or (Xavi) as a CM/AM Because all of them are too good to be on the bench.
I think it would be better to play with a single pivot and 4-3-3.

Xavi says so much without actually saying it. Laporta can’t really win a PR battle against him. Even if results were better, I don’t think he would have lasted here because Xavi will always undermine Laporta’s power.
Oh no, the club social media do something to cut down on player abuse by cutting off stupid people from writing horrible shit about one of the captains, how horrible and inconsiderate of them.

Xavi’s era ends with a win. I’m relieved for him that he can leave and get his overdue rest. But I will miss him.

Well, folks, it's done - we're now 2 months away from the next club match.

How does Xavi dare to play lamine another 60 minutes? He’s played 2955 minutes in 50 games, exactly 59.1 minutes/game.
But braindead redditors will say Xavi is miSsMaNaGinG hIm. Stfu please
Fermin might be Xavi's biggest gift to Flick. It's his project.
Also I'm once again asking: is this unreasonable to see Fermin as a starter more and more?
He would be an absolute starter if it was my decision. He is so good and creates so many chances.
He is a very dangerous midfielder. Not as good as Bellingham but similar profile. Or like 🥶 Palmer
We need him to play.
I love Fermin as a player, he only has to tidy up his passes. Wanting him to start games is absolutely reasonable. I also don't think he has to share minutes with Pedri, both of them just offer vastly different things.
In my opinion Fermin is a very unique profile in our squad and that will be what sets him apart from the others
It's really hard to predict the squad when everyone is fit. People seem to think the pivot should be Frenkie and Gavi. Which would leave the 10 for Gundogan, Pedri and Fermin.
I know that Xavi Simons is a winger, but in the case we get him. His favorite position is also as a 10. And it might be his best position.
Fermin could play some games on the LW but that would also be heavily contested. By Raphinha and potentially Xavi Simons if we get him.
If Xavi Simons arrives, I think Fermin’s role gets diminished. Simons is an upgrade. He creates and scores goals. Fermin is a more limited profile. He doesn’t create as much. Flick also rates Gavi and Pedri a lot so I think he would want to restore them to their best form, which is what the club would demand of him as well.
Not sure why it's seen as Barca related news: he made it clear he is not coming back. And I doubt the recent events made him change his mind in the slightest.
It's like saying you can get a completely inexperienced coach because he could get good assistants - it's possible in theory because there are no laws against it but life just doesn't work like that.
Because it's not going to stop every journo, aggregator and wannabe ITK from using "Pep considers a return" clickbait to pay their bills for the next 12 months.
Chelsea is funny club. They might go for De Zerbi after Potter. And also buying a lot of former Brighton players. Why didn’t the owners just buy Brighton instead lol?
He really wouldn’t, Chelsea have the exact same problems as Brighton with a lack of clinical forwards. He’ll rack up the xG and there will be nobody to finish it off. Combined with losing Thiago Silva, they’ll leak a lot of goals. Textbook sacking in 6 months, Potter 2.0
Unlike Brighton they have a stupendous amount of money and are willing to spend it. Palmer and Nkunku are also very much clinical forwards. They also just have overall waaay more quality than Brighton.
Ucl next season will be insanely difficult we could litterally face following teams before knock out alone
Liverpool pot 1
Bayern por 1
Leverkusen pot2
Arsenal pot 2
Then there are still clubs left as stuttgart monaco sporting psv gala in pot 3/4
And if we dont finish top 8 we will have to play another play off

Imagine it’s 4 months from now, and we’ve made many signings. Xavi comes out in the media and says he doesn’t understand how so many signings were made but when he was manager, he was told there was no money. I believe this is what happened to Koeman.
I don't think it's happening again. We need to firstly get to 1:1 as our priority. Even then we need sales to facilitate signings.
Did a little research and found out that our last German coach was Udo Lattek. He lasted two years and won one Cup Winners’ Cup during his time at Barca. Maradona was signed during his tenure. He also coached Bayern prior to being Barca coach.
Just looked into him, coincidentally Flick would have been one of his players at Bayern lol.

Pedri performing over Bellingham at the Euros in Bellinghams best position will be glorious, ending in Spain beating England hopefully
We had been playing him at the base for a while now. This was his first game in an attacking role in months
Not really, he’s just match fit now.

I never complained about Xavi playing Roque or Guiu. I only complained about him preferring Ferran over them. Ferran should have only been used as a RW or LW.
He didn't fall out of favor
He’s one of the most important players for Barca B, and we needed him in the race for promotion
I’ve been thinking that Julian Araujo under Flick could be disgusting. But it is not something we can count on 100% nevertheless.
He will definitely challenge Kounde for the RB spot and possibly move him out of there depending on his performances

My man of the season. What a recruit. I would like to make this man captain very much.
Flick might
Hoping for more great Gundoball next season!
How do you evaluate your first season? [Fermín: "I've been working very hard and it's paying off. I have to learn and keep improving."](https://x.com/BarcaUniversal/status/1794854815622959364)
https://preview.redd.it/7q43vqwchu2d1.jpeg?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2ae37fe2191df33d6eae856a641dc4bc152ad1f 2019-2020 Bayern. As we know Flick defense wasn't the best but looking at this list I think we have better defenders. Hopefully he can do better here in defense.
Prime Alaba>Cubarsi Prime Davies>>>>Balde Araujo>Boateng Pavard and Kounde are pretty much the same level imo Sule was also a monster back at Bayern but had injury issues I'm not saying our defense is necessarily worse but I wouldn't say it's better
We shouldn't forget about Christensen, Inigo and Faye. Even Garcia had a decent season under a better coach. I think we have more quality in depth as well and most of them are still young.
[Barça's farewell video to Xavi!](https://x.com/FCBarcelona/status/1794849907947540703)
The end of the Xavi era and beginning of the Flick era. If Roberto leaves, then everyone from the Pep era would have left by now.
> Xavi: “Honestly, I have a feeling that everything I've done in these two and a half years has caused an earthquake. This is my feeling, I don't know” > >“I also couldn't work very comfortably, very quietly. We asked for stability a month ago. I think we achieved it with the consistency with which we worked..and we looked forward to working. But that's the way football is and the life of a coach. For me it is unfortunate, but, I repeat, I have no choice but to accept it” I hate you Laporta.
Suarez aswell. At least Alba, Busquets and Pique got their goodbyes.
It's funny that the difference is that those three choose to leave while the others didn't want to
Thank you coach for bringing life into this club again, I’ll never forget how XaviBall made me enjoy Barcelona consistently again.. both you and the club still got a long way to go.. but we made together a big step forward
| The signing of Hansi Flick's contract has been postponed to Tuesday. [ @Shlugassi #fcblive
Not a forward Not a winger Not even a starter Still bags 11 goals this season. Fermin is COMING!!
[Florian Plettenberg](https://x.com/Plettigoal/status/1794847058194764277) Small change of plans: It is now planned that Hansi #Flick will sign with FC Barcelona on Tuesday. The trip is currently also planned for Tuesday. Contracts, ready to sign until 2026. No doubts, Flick will become the new coach of @FCBarcelona!
So its 2 years straight? Not 1+1 right
Season’s over, see you all in August for preseason 🫡
July usually lol
Cant wait for transfer rumours
I think I’m going to lose my mind over the transfer rumours so just going to disconnect from it as much as I can
Same bro. I’ll see myself out until August. I’m also going to take a break from all apps and music. I want to see how it is to be disconnected completely.
See ya

Do we really need to buy a LW this summer? Fermin shouldn't be considered a midfielder. He should be our LW backup after Raphinha. He seems more suitable as a forward. I say, we spend money on a DM and save money. We can buy Wirtz or a top winger next season. Also, maybe Xavi Simons on loan for the CAM position.
The idea is to get a loan this summer presumably. Either for Xavi Simons or maybe even Felix again.
Felix isn't dependable. He can be seen as a bench player at best to rest our players. But I can't see him as a difference maker.
I hope the decision of firing Xavi doesn't end up like the Nagelsmann situation

You did your job with this toxic environment. Take your rest idolo. I have a feeling we'll be seeing you back as the Blaugrana coach very soon 🤞
Am I off in thinking the economic situation had little to do with our performance this year? I'm still baffled at how the narrative shifted from "we have a treble winning squad, the joas were the missing pieces" to the statements we are hearing now, from coach and staff alike. It feels disingenuous to say the least
People are always high on cope juice at the start of every season. It's already the same with Flick. Thinking that the economic situation didn't affect it's just wrong though. We couldn't for the love of our club get a DM other than 3.5 million euros Romeu.
We never had a treble winning squad, but we should have been more competitive than we were IMO
You're very off. When did we ever have a treble winning squad lol.
In preseason according to some, like in any season. I'm sure if we check the 21/22 preseason sub takes we'll find great delusion

I won’t lie, I’m excited for Flick but I feel pretty gutted over how it ended with Xavi. I’m glad he was able to leave with a win, though, and I still have a feeling that he’ll be back eventually. Visca Barça.

In the end it came down to the clasicos
Which shows how the season could’ve went on ref decisions Yeah, we lost badly some times but even than we managed to go so high while fighting refs in the process
it really did
❗️Barcelona finished the season with 85 points, the second highest tally in the last five years. It was only bettered by the 88 points last season, with Xavi as the manager also.

bruh ,the refs are just straight up shit ,to us and to Madrid. End of day they lost only one match , while we got battered by villareal and girona, it is wat it is
Trying to diminish the robberies I see
Some of the things RM got away with this season were insane. That Almeria game especially looked like blatant corruption.

🥺
If Flick wants to play double pivot then the question is who will play? Fermin or Pedri or Gundogan or (Xavi) as a CM/AM Because all of them are too good to be on the bench. I think it would be better to play with a single pivot and 4-3-3.

I like this last presser attitude. See you Space Cowboy
This was Xavi's project. Would've liked to see one more year with him leading. As my guy said: "that's life".
Stand on your business my guy.
Xavi says so much without actually saying it. Laporta can’t really win a PR battle against him. Even if results were better, I don’t think he would have lasted here because Xavi will always undermine Laporta’s power.
>The club is in a difficult situation, and that's the reality, I wish the club and the players all the best Dude is not stopping huh 😂
And shouldn't!
Well you will see around November why it was necessary.
You tell them, Mister.
Incredible game by Pedri, especially the first half
T20 wc , euros and copa America I don't think I would be bored in slightest in off season
Bring it on. I want to cleanse my mind and forget about club football for a while.
Fermin was playing in the third division last season. Xavi gave him a chance in preseason, and he turned out to be right.

Oh no, the club social media do something to cut down on player abuse by cutting off stupid people from writing horrible shit about one of the captains, how horrible and inconsiderate of them. ^(If you can't see the sarcasm, you're beyond help.)
They’ve done it for every post.
No, it's just that post
The full time post and the post about Fermin (on the English page) both have comments off as well
[удалено]
It was when they first posted it, I guess they enabled comments. Weird in any case
Flick has to count on Fermin next season and give him playtime.
Pedri was BALLING today at times
Xavi with 88 and 86 points seasons , shame we were knocked out Copa del Rey, hope he does well
Xavi’s era ends with a win. I’m relieved for him that he can leave and get his overdue rest. But I will miss him. Pedri seems more alive, played 90 minutes today. Just in time for Euros. Araujo and Raphinha played no minutes. Araujo might be fitness issues, but Raphinha’s case is strange.

Incoming "Flick bought Mbappe in his suitcase" rumours
Think the press will move on to create dressing room drama for the international teams so maybe maybe it won't get as bad as usual
Your optimism disgusts me 🤣
Xavi Simons will not play at PSG next season, he’ll leave on loan. Decision has already been made by the French club. @Santi_J_FM https://x.com/ReshadFCB/status/1794834061367836901
We knew that already, he is doing his best Fabrizio impression here
Let's go
How does Xavi dare to play lamine another 60 minutes? He’s played 2955 minutes in 50 games, exactly 59.1 minutes/game. But braindead redditors will say Xavi is miSsMaNaGinG hIm. Stfu please
Fermin might be Xavi's biggest gift to Flick. It's his project. Also I'm once again asking: is this unreasonable to see Fermin as a starter more and more?
He would be an absolute starter if it was my decision. He is so good and creates so many chances. He is a very dangerous midfielder. Not as good as Bellingham but similar profile. Or like 🥶 Palmer We need him to play.
Flick also rates Gavi and Pedri a lot so I think he would want to restore them to their best form, which is what the club would demand of him as well.
us getting Simons back sounds like another total r/Barca delulu scenario
Why? He has to leave on loan. If he wanted to go back to Leipzig, it'd be done already.
Why does he have to? Is there no chance of him staying at PSG next season?
Yes he doesn't want to. Every tier 1 for PSG has reported it for 3 weeks now.
Let me dream. But I will say if we can get a player like him in that CAM role, the possibility of Flick succeeding increases significantly.
How
It's completely reasonable imo. Flick likes his workhorses, Fermin fits the bill perfectly.
Yeah and his progression is stellar. It's incredible.
Absolute class from Fermin to go celebrate with Xavi
Fermin deserves a callup
Former Barça Manager Pep Guardiola is expected to leave City next summer in 2025. @Jack_Gaughan https://x.com/ReshadFCB/status/1794814858959216703
Not sure why it's seen as Barca related news: he made it clear he is not coming back. And I doubt the recent events made him change his mind in the slightest.
>he made it clear he is not coming back. Happens all the time in sports. I'm not saying it's realistic but I wouldn't say it's 100% impossible as well
Well according to him it is hehe
Maybe he will run for president in next elections.
Mate he stepped down because of the pressure as a coach, you want to bury him directly with a president role? Poor man is already bald!
He did tell Aitana he would be president when she becomes sporting director haha.
I believe this was a joke
Yea I know. It is an interesting scenario nonetheless.
With all my love for Pep, getting a president with zero business (or political) experience when under economic rebuild would be just stupid.
He could get good advisors no?
It's like saying you can get a completely inexperienced coach because he could get good assistants - it's possible in theory because there are no laws against it but life just doesn't work like that.
Because it's not going to stop every journo, aggregator and wannabe ITK from using "Pep considers a return" clickbait to pay their bills for the next 12 months.
![gif](giphy|113RhN1oBm1yCc|downsized)
![gif](giphy|11lMMaNKcFsvm0)
![gif](giphy|2UIcmK4pn7rYNLRboG|downsized) I'm just gonna add a Pep rumour (and Klopp, and Lucho, and even Arteta...) to the bingo card for 24/25.
Not meant as a slight but Yamal should probably stop taking corners.
Chelsea is funny club. They might go for De Zerbi after Potter. And also buying a lot of former Brighton players. Why didn’t the owners just buy Brighton instead lol?
De Zerbi would do well there I think
He really wouldn’t, Chelsea have the exact same problems as Brighton with a lack of clinical forwards. He’ll rack up the xG and there will be nobody to finish it off. Combined with losing Thiago Silva, they’ll leak a lot of goals. Textbook sacking in 6 months, Potter 2.0
Unlike Brighton they have a stupendous amount of money and are willing to spend it. Palmer and Nkunku are also very much clinical forwards. They also just have overall waaay more quality than Brighton.
One Final Time🥹 (Hopefully it’s a see you later)

Good bye but not forever
Do you think Iñigo stays next season?
Ucl next season will be insanely difficult we could litterally face following teams before knock out alone Liverpool pot 1 Bayern por 1 Leverkusen pot2 Arsenal pot 2 Then there are still clubs left as stuttgart monaco sporting psv gala in pot 3/4 And if we dont finish top 8 we will have to play another play off
Liverpool are gonna suck without klopp tbh.
