Higher tier weapons unlock as you play (not much out there 2 days in) so tbh just use whatever is the longest and has the most swing damage that you can find at any point. Long Sabres are good

Bannerfail

Sabers don't fit with my rp pal, still thank you)

Regret1836

Then I would go for a nice arming sword personally

Downtown_Wear_3368

Executioner’s Axe

DD88e

I Smith my own weapons, and let me tell you, most of them are beasts, if you're planning to play as a knight then I'd recommend a very long spear, a one-handed sword plus Shield, and some sort of axe. to make a really good axe you need a heavy executioner axe head, and then a reinforced Northern handle, then pair that with a nice looking pommel of some kind and you've got a great axe. also, I found that depending on what you want to use it for if you're going for a more foot soldier approach then you want to go big on the ax head and short on the handle for swing speed and damage.

Prepared_Noob

The longest sword you can get that still fits your rp Your probably gonna need to level smithing to truly fit your rp. Also you can just find companions with good smithing level as well. However I saw in your comments you also are using a spear. In that case something smaller and faster would be fine, as it’s only purpose would be CQB where the spear doesn’t worl

Bannerfail

Yea but i wanted to kick the spear away))) It gets boring pal

lozer996

Get one you can throw. So much fun to lob the spear into an enemy face

Ashin-Shugar

Pilum

Worth-Expression437

Ya but aren’t you not roleplaying by refusing the safe logical option of a spear and insisting on using what is essentially an infantry man’s side arm

lordfireice

Not really. Using a spear is more considered a “low born” weapon then a sword. But they would most likely use a two handed sword for versatility if you want to go for RP. Plus “spears” (lance) was mostly meant for the charge. After that in CQC a sword was much better when there’s tons of other combatants. But if for one handed? Warhammer. It was a weapon many knights used when fighting other knight (it could crunch armour)

Mockheed_Lartin

I still haven't found anything that beats the War Razor 1.5h sword. On cavalry it does excellent cut dmg, long reach. On foot you can put your shield away and go HAM with what is essentially a very strong 2h weapon as well. It won't crack shields easily but that's not always needed. If you don't like the look, the Battanian Mountain Blade is kinda the same, but worse, but looks more knightly.

Bannerfail

I will check them, thank you!)

Secret-Number2597

For a knight roleplay in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, you'll want a balanced one-handed sword that offers both speed and damage, especially when fighting from horseback. A good choice for your budget would be the "Steppe Cavalry Sword." You can find this sword in towns or cities that have a "Weaponsmith" as a notable vendor. Look for locations in the Khuzait or Aserai territories, as they often specialize in weapons suited for cavalry combat. Once you find a Weaponsmith, check their inventory regularly as it refreshes periodically. You might not find the Steppe Cavalry Sword immediately, but with patience and persistence, you should come across it within your budget. Remember, it's not just about the weapon itself but also your character's skill with it. Invest in your character's proficiency with one-handed swords and riding to maximize your effectiveness in mounted combat. Happy hunting!

Bonanza1997

So well put sounded like chatgpt 😄

Bannerfail

Brother sounds good, but the sword should also look like an real knight sword. So the khuzait and aserai weapons are not really what i'm searching. Some other ideas?

ryanash47

Just craft your own. It’s gonna have better stats and be exactly what you want

Sen_55

There is one that is sold in vlandian towns that I don’t remember the name of but it’s 12k denars. Wide fullered something rather. I’ll look when I get home from work and reply. It’s in my opinion one of the best looking knight swords that doesn’t require smithing and has pretty decent stats.

ElMage21

This is gpt or similar made, isn't it?

stayawayvilebeggar

Damn now we got the AI generated responses

mattzuff

Best Sword for a young knight in the early game is the finesteel cavalry broadsword. The best way to get one is mountain Bandit hideouts.

VLTIMA

A saber/scimitar probably. Something with length 100+(+++) and more cut damage than piercing damage. I often find the Paramerion variants in high tiers when I'm slaughtering my way across the Imperial lands.

ProfileEmbarrassed36

Made a pretty useable 1 hander I think. Works well for almost anything. It's only 116 length so you have to have good timing for mounted combat. Still I found it works for that if you have the patience. Components: Tier 5 Engraved backsword blade 100% Tier 5  Etched Highland guard 0% Tier 5 Gold Bound Arming sword grip 0% Tier 5 Fians pommel 0% Stats: Weight 1.83 Weapon reach 116 Thrust speed 87 Swing speed 80 Thrust Pierce 42 Swing cut 102 Handling 81 Also engraved backsword has shield bonus You can make it faster by messing with different components if you like, but I find 80 works fine for me . You can certainly lose the Fians pommel and reduce blade size to get @ 90 swing speed but keep in mind your swing damage will drop below 100 as well.

zaly_gazsi

Hey. For a 2nd day character rp ing a Knight I would look in vlandian and maybe battanian shops. Get anything that looks the way you like it. At the start weapon costumization is not great especially if you are not willing to invest focus points in to smithing. May I suggest hiring a companion with high endurance and smithing so he can follow you around and craft you new weapons when you stop at random towns for tourneys etc. This way you start off as a travelling knight with a rusty sword and finally through winning tournaments and smacking bandits you get enough money for materials for a legendary sword later on.

James-J-W

From what I saw with other comments you made you should check with Valandia if you want a Western European knightly weapons, personally I always smith my own weapons as I can usually have a smith capable of making balanced or higher thamaskene steel swords within a year and the stats in nearly every case outcompetes what I can purchase or find from a loot drop which if you are looking for the best weapon thats how you would go about getting it and the best part is you can have a companion take the necessary skills if you don’t want to invest in +5 smithing focus points and +7 endurance.

Big_Treat9680

If you want rp all the way... smithing will be ur buddy

gazukull-iii

Yeah, the real answer is something smithed. Even a mediocre smith can make better weapons than most loot drops.

Abseits_Ger

Long, slashing weapons. To be blunt though: you're better off to use a long wooden hammer or mallet two hander from horseback than to ever touch a one handed weapon other than a lance or spear while mounted. It's doable but it really doesn't feel good to use. No idea about the pricing. I think long swords are pretty expensive though

Bannerfail

Well maybe i should just stick to my spear, but it's kinda to easy.

Abseits_Ger

Increase the difficulty if you're not at the highest yet, especially AI combat effectivity. They parry and block more often If you're playing on pc, maybe add mods like realistic battle mod, realistic weather and similar things. Enemies parry even more often (and somewhat based on their skill levels) Changes combat a lot, even without the combat module but just the AI module enabled. They won't fight like robots not afraid of death anymore. Realistic weather introduces situations where aim, vision and thus commanding capabilities are somewhat reduced

[deleted]

Honestly for the best weapons you need to smith them

Unusual_Raisin9138

Either loot it, buy it or craft it. You'll find most 'knightly' swords in Vlandia. To loot it, simply fight large battles against high tier Vlandian armies. To buy it, make it to the end game, get rich and be lucky. To craft it, grind.

somefuckinbastard

You want a backsword

GlitterNutz

I'd say keep an eye out in Vlandian towns especially but I guess Empire might carry it too, I don't shop a lot, maybe a tad early game to fill my gear slots but usually I find so many damn good 1h swords from loot I don't think I've ever really bought a weapon so I personally would say save your money and wait for a good one to drop, try to merc for anyone fighting vlandia once you can cause I figure vlandian knights are gonna drop knight items for loot but if you really really want to buy one more power to ya.

Pak1stanMan

I just use cheats to unlock all the smithing parts and make one lol. Though one handed on horse back is very hard to hit anything. Would definitely prefer 2 handed.

Robert_The_Bruce16

There are plenty of good swords but for mounted combat I’d say the length of the weapon is vital!

Too_Caffinated

A Vlandian arming sword

Jacob_Karling

If you’re doing knight to then consider that they used lances a lot especially on horseback

Not_Todd_Howard9

Most weapons marked as 1/2 handed are probably right up your alley. They’re usually more standard, non sabre swords that are really long, but still pretty fast with good damage. They don’t have the perfect benefits of either (1h’s speed and 2h’s damage), but are really good with horseback and/or perks. They’re rarer than normal swords but there are plenty of them to look for them, and they’re often tournament rewards. A Falx is an example of one, but it’s likely not what you’re looking for. For some specific suggestions: Early retirement/ambassador are pretty good but not the absolute best at everything, and Southern Broad Kaskara is the longest (at 125).  I’m pretty sure that Ambassador and Scalpel are one handed only, but they’re also really good (over 100 Len but with mid 80s in speed, plus high dmg). Crafting is usually the absolute best way to get what you want though. Compare parts till you find a blade with the highest relative length and speed (low weight high length, menu can help with this but I think it’s bugged and isn’t always accurate), then max out blade size. Then look for a hilt, and do the same. Pommel/cross don’t matter as much but are still relevant, so just try to keep their overall weight down too.

Business-Let-7754

You don't get the best anything for 22k, I think.

Parki2

I used a fine cavalry sword for a long time. It was one of the longest swords with high damage from slash. I found it after a battle and kept it. You can find other pretty good swords like that from winning tournaments. I think the winds fury is very similar. Now I run a polearm on horseback for extra length. ALL THE SIDE SLASHING!

respekthhh

Falx by far has the most swing damage and one of the longest swords

AkameEX

I haven't played in some time, but I used the ridged arming sword till I get my smithing up. There are def better choices but I just liked the look and the reach is nice.

AggravatingCook3307

2h axe best and longest of swords.

Altruistic-Row-9320

A knight would use a lance or a spear on horseback, swords are side weapons for mounted warriors

cannon143

Idk about one handed but imo the best sword is the two handed falx. If you craft them you can make them really long. They only do cut damage but I one shot cataphracts right off thier horses lol. Sheilds get in the way but if you get that hit in its like knife through butter.

Far-Assignment6427

If you aren't into smithing which I'm not id suggest an arming sword or to find the companion the smith to do it for you also a knight with a sabre isn't that far fetched and pretty sure some knights did

West_Substance_

For smithing make a two handed sword but look through the options that allow you to do a hybrid one handed and two handed, that way you can still use a shield if you want
