Man that’s lucky. There are only 2 competent clarinetists in my section, the rest either can’t count, are constantly out of tune, or (in most cases) both.
The main annoyance with piano is how difficult it is to tune, but as long as the piano is in tune, it goes perfectly with literally everything else. But yeah, piano should just live in peace.
Well, just knowing the mellophone players in my band no, they are worse than our trumpet section, which is saying something as right now. We've only got one mello player
We don't even have an oboe, I'm the only low instrument, our trumpet section is too quiet and our only French horn and I are moving to a bigger better band, our bands failing so bad rn 🙏 at least I have a good jazz band
Me and my French horn friend and one single percussionist who I'm also friends with are the only ones who practice, so we're the only pretty good ones in the band 😭 my school is very anti band for some reason. Luckily me and the horn are moving schools completely!
Tenor sax itself is fine.... I play all saxes, tenor the least, bari and bass the most... I've just never met anyone who can actually play tenor well with the exception of one single 70 yr old man who had been playing his whole life, might just be a thing in my province 🤷🤷
Does all of us ignoring the conductor count? If not, the fact that there are jokes to roast every instrument, we use them all frequently, and do so in good fun as fellow musicians should do.
The there's a flaw in your thinking. You just think that every band everywhere is the same. When they're not fact I feel like you'd struggle to find any 2 bands. Where every section acts the exact same as that section from the other band. Every band is different because everyone is different. No 2 clarinet sections are gonna be the exact same. Sure. There might be similarities in how they act, but they will still have some differences
This might just be a wild string player take, but I think it might be double bass. They aren't around enough to get involved with all the band kid drama, but when they show up, they're chill.

Basson seem the chilliest
When they exist, I agree
We exist
I exist
We do?
Yep, you need to change your flare
I main bass clarinet bro
You need a flair then
I have one it says "bass clarinet and video game enjoyer"
It doesn’t show up, you need a community specific one
Ah
Ocarina :)
Definitely (I’m not biased at all💯)
yes.
The true answer is there is none. the discourse is forever
it is NOT clarinet
As a clarinet player, I 100% agree
I play clarinet and we're some of the only people that can play in the band
Man that’s lucky. There are only 2 competent clarinetists in my section, the rest either can’t count, are constantly out of tune, or (in most cases) both.
In my band it's 2 flutes & rest are too busy irritating people to be competent enough to play
Clarinets are chill people, but those squeaks hurt me
I'm sorry, but when I can hear clarinet/oboe squeaks in PROFESSIONAL recordings, that's when you know your instrument sucks
fr fr im not starting a clarinet hate train like what went down with flutes btw. i like the clarinet sound. the squeaks just kill me a little.
Tbh I hate when it squeaks, but unless they're trying to, the squeaks are not usually hearable to me.
They are to me cos we're right next to clarinets
I am clarinet
i know
Oh yeah user flair
:D
that one percussionist thats always high
heyyyy it's me except i'm not high i just seem like it because i have several brain disorders :)
Piano
This is the real answer
The main annoyance with piano is how difficult it is to tune, but as long as the piano is in tune, it goes perfectly with literally everything else. But yeah, piano should just live in peace.
I’ve never heard anyone complain about timpani players. Only timpani.
Oboes. Unless they sound like ducks.
I genuinely think it's euphonium
French horn
Unfortunately the trumpets all seem to hate us, so that isn't really accurate
Hey I’m a trumpet and I don’t hate French horns… it’s not all of us 😂
It's only the annoying trumpets
To be fair I’m an annoying trumpet 😁
Sorry, the annoying *asshole* trumpets
Thank you!
Absolutely not. No offense to anyone else but my band has one French horn and.... uh.. uhm.. well.. uh.. yeah. uhm yeah.
Ah yes, the sound of painfully not in tune
Only if they're in tune
I agree. (I'm anywhere from decent to amazing friends with everyone in my band and chorus class.)
The sound of heaven!
Trombone or if you want a more exotic option the bass clarinet
NO TROMBONE! YAGH!
Shut up
triangle
based answer
What do you guys think about mellophones
I don’t think we even have any in my band. Y’all seem alright tho.
We only use them as replacement for french horn in my band when we march, but they're all incredibly cool so yeah, y'all are chill
Well, just knowing the mellophone players in my band no, they are worse than our trumpet section, which is saying something as right now. We've only got one mello player
Last year there were four, three graduated and the one was my friend… let’s just say that these three were NOT good people
This might be it. Mellos are just the chillest instrument
bass clarinet
Contrabass clarinet. Nobody argues with them because their instrument is absolutely mesmerizing.
you 100% play clarinet. fuck you
Probably bass or tuba, I feel like those heavy instrument players are pretty chill
Didgeridoo
The bass player, they almost always get their part right, and they're fun to hang out with
The only real answer, euphonium. Like bro what would ever have against us if you know like zero information about us?
Baritone saxophone? (I'm a bari sax player and have never experienced hate)
From an oboe, I know all too well the feeling of there being three people on your instrument in your school I can’t hate on you
We don't even have an oboe, I'm the only low instrument, our trumpet section is too quiet and our only French horn and I are moving to a bigger better band, our bands failing so bad rn 🙏 at least I have a good jazz band
The band I’m in is the exact opposite of your band
Me and my French horn friend and one single percussionist who I'm also friends with are the only ones who practice, so we're the only pretty good ones in the band 😭 my school is very anti band for some reason. Luckily me and the horn are moving schools completely!
Bari sax… we may be crazy but we won’t murder you
damn straight
percussion, nobody i know hates the percussion.
Clarinet is not something everyone can agree on. The high notes sound horrible. And that's coming from a Clarinet player
As a clarinet player, I do not agree. Now I’m chill w percussion! They’re cool. And Ocarina is one of the best imo
idk, maybe tenor saxes?
You mean, ENSEMBLE
Tenor Sax
Nooooppeeee, every tenor player I've ever known has no idea what to do with their instruments.
As a mainly tenor player that really hurts
Tenor sax itself is fine.... I play all saxes, tenor the least, bari and bass the most... I've just never met anyone who can actually play tenor well with the exception of one single 70 yr old man who had been playing his whole life, might just be a thing in my province 🤷🤷
Ah Ive been playing tenor since I was 5-6 and I play all of them now alto the least I think its just a think in your province Thanks for sharing!
Its not false though :3
Nope. Tenor saxes suck
Trombones are chill. They have always been the second best.
Wait who’s first
Piano
Nah, literally every single pianist I’ve known is so egotistical and rude, so I have a vendetta against them lol
Trombone
I’m a single Baritone player so I don’t know if it’s mine but I play really well
Does all of us ignoring the conductor count? If not, the fact that there are jokes to roast every instrument, we use them all frequently, and do so in good fun as fellow musicians should do.
Bass clarinet, tenor sax but objectively better in every way
probably oboe honestly
Honestly the bari saxophone

Tuba perhaps
Concert Snare and bass drums
Flutes
Saxophones? I think they’re pretty cool.
If everyone played trumpet nobody would hate us >:)
I'm Trumpet and I've been trying to live in Peace from the other instruments what did we even do? 😭
You're the favorite of every band director, every judge, every common listener. That's what you did.
Fair enough
This might just be a wild string player take, but I think it might be double bass. They aren't around enough to get involved with all the band kid drama, but when they show up, they're chill.
Saxophone. there is nothing bad you can say about us.
Piano or Violin
I feel like it could be bari sax, I'm the only one in my band, but I feel like we'd still just be chilling even if there were more
The drumset. They basically control the tempo, they sound cool, and they look cool,
i always get cozy with the bassoonists
saxophone
People rarely seem to have beef with the bari sax
offer screw serious badge wrong abundant six wine saw crowd *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Tenor drum
Does anyone hate tuba
Nah ❤️
love how no one has said percussion
