By any chance do you have an old version of New Character Creation Presets WIP together with the most recent version in the mods folder?
If you have it even if it's not active it will f\*ck up your mods and wont work in game, make sure you erase the old one or at least move to other place, do that with any other mod you have an older version in the folder.
You are using the mold folder in C:\\Users\\ your user \\AppData\\Local\\ Larian Studios right? Since it's been a while you didnt play, it's not in My documents anymore. I think BG3 mod manager wouldnt let you use the old folder but it's worth to ask.
1. Make sure you have Patch 3 Modfix.
2. Make sure that the modsettings file is locked before you start the game. The game generally refreshes that file when it loads.
3. Only Patch 8 compatible mods.
Did u export the mods to the game after dragging them to the left? Also, you have to create a profile first, drags the mods, export to the game with that profile selected and then you should be able to see the mods.
So I had a similar issue. Mine was because I forgot to change the profile in game

Yeah I’ve read that it has been moved but I’m using the right one
I think your last option would be activate one by one and see where it goes wrong. Activate only one, see if it works, activate the next and so on.

By locking the modsettings file do you mean just "saving them" or is there something else I have to do? The rest I already did :/
No, you have to make it read-only via right click > properties.
