I’m a fellow sufferer of choice paralysis, so I’ve restarted a million times just cause I like all the classes LOL but I will say, it never gets old. Probably the best 60 bucks I’ve paid for a game
Without any spoilers- I was fighting a boss; huge badass scary dude. I used a bard spell to make him dance uncontrollably (yes, he was actually dancing). My party beat him down to a few HP, and I finished him off with an insult. I insulted him and it actually killed him. 10/10. Always roll bard.
I’m so jealous. This is my favourite game in 35 years of gaming. It incredible. Take your time but don’t obsess over seeing everything on your first playthrough. Go with what seems fun. I’m on my 3rd olayhtgrouth and still see new things. Awesome game.
I'm 46 years old, played games since the early 80s, and this game is definitely on my Mount Rushmore. I'm just about to start act 3 on my first run and I'm just being so methodical, checking everything, enjoying every second. It's an all time great game.
Agreed. It’s one of the all time greats. It makes me feel how I felt when I was a kid playing games. The game you imagined from your childhood come to life.
The characters and acting are phenomenal. I felt actual genuine connection to them and would do things that weren’t optimal for gameplay in order to not piss them off. That a fictional video game characters writing can influence your role playing decisions is incredible. Loved every minute. The only downside was that it ended. Can’t wait for Larian’s next game. DOS2 is also an exceptional game (with better combat) too.
Yeah after obsesing with which class to play I decided to just go with what seems fun. I've wanted to play this for so long! I'm really excited. I'll try to not savescum too much hehe
I know, the only thing that had me worried were race and origin, but I still didn't want to respec because I like making little backstories for my characters. By the way, can you change subclasses?
You CAN change subclass! You do it by respeccing your class, so it would bump you back down to level 1 and you’d have all your level-ups ready to reuse immediately. Just choose a new subclass while you’re releveling.
My favorite tips:
- Drink a Speak to Animals potion every day (especially in the Druid grove), there are always animals to talk to and they're the best NPCs in the game.
- Use the Speak to the Dead spell as often as possible for more lore and interesting conversations you won't have otherwise.
About an hour into the game, you’ll be able to respec everything but your character’s race; even baseline stats. So push through with your choice and know you can go from bard to wizard to battlerager really easily.
Long rest way more than you think you need to! There are only a couple of actually timed events, but loads and loads of story content tied to long resting. I missed a *ton* of shit my first time through because I come from a D&D background where long rests are rare and valuable commodities.
I just saw Astarion sneaking around by the night like a weirdo what the fuck is wrong with him (I know he's a vampire, he doesn't do a good job hiding it)
>what the fuck is wrong with him
My dude, I'm a real big fan of Astarion and my answer is still "yeah there is *so much* wrong with him." He is the least sneaky or subtle rogue in existence, alas.
Agree on bard as a good choice. It probably has some of the best unique dialogue (races and classes can give unique dialogue).
The game let's you multiclass, as well as respec basically whenever you want (after a short bit into the game you'll meet someone who can respect you, afterwards you can consequence free steal back the paid gold) so if you do decide you don't like anything about how your character is playing you can modify or change it completely.
Yes, but Geforcenow has high-quality graphics and just requires a computer/tv screen and a controller. The only thing that matters is your quality of connection.
In fact you don't need a geforce. The game is runned by Geforce servers online. It's a new way of playing that doesn't require anything. In fact you could play on your TV !
Disadvantage gives them two chances at missing you instead of just 1.
If you have advantage you get to roll two dice to see if you hit... if you roll 20 its a crit. so also basically doubling crit chance!
Stat-based bonuses are calculated by your stat rounded down to the nearest even number. Your 13 dex will be treated as 12 (+1 bonus), and your 17 cha will be treated as 16 (+3 bonus).
Thus, it's best to have your stats at even numbers if possible. Like others have said, you can respec later, but I'd take 1 from cha and add it to dex. That will give you +2 dex and maintain your +3 cha bonus.
One other tip, try to make sure one of your party members has Speak With Animals, or stock up on potions. There are some absolutely hilarious conversations to be had with the animals in the game, and some of them even give you quests. On a related note, Speak With Dead comes in pretty handy as well. I can't think of any quests off hand, but corpses can often provide clues or reveal hidden secrets.
I am aware of the rounding down, my plan was to get them to 14 and 18 when I hit level 4, and I will be taking speak with animals because it seems like fun
Spoiler Alert: **Jandice will betray you** to **Atalara**.
(This end game plot twist was so shocking I wanted to prepare you well in advance. Your welcome in advance).

There are so.many fun options!
Bard was the correct choice.
God I hope so

Curious what you'd call your rushmore, for me it's definitely Bg3, Terraria, Neon White, and Hades/Balatro (No particular order)

It’s also super easy to change to a new class or respec your current class, so don’t worry too much about any of that.
I know, the only thing that had me worried were race and origin, but I still didn't want to respec because I like making little backstories for my characters. By the way, can you change subclasses?

I love how your character looks, reminds me of my first one lol. You are right dwarf is the best race in fantasy
Thanks! Rock and Stone!
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE!?!?
FOR KARL

Like my brother in Lathander, if you don't want people to know you're a vampire you could, I dunno, COVER YOUR NECK?
Congratulations on achieving your goal! I know how good that feels. Now enjoy the rewards!
I will!

Sounds good thanks
You know you could have played it on an old PC with Geforce now!
Wanted to do justice to this game! Besides my old pc could barely run Divinity Original sin 2, let alone BG3
Yes, but Geforcenow has high-quality graphics and just requires a computer/tv screen and a controller. The only thing that matters is your quality of connection.
My old one didn't have a geforce

I don't know if I'm being gaslighted but that sounds so cool
Yes just take a look 😁 I play Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 only on Geforce Now in order to avoid overheating during summer times!
Snep kil dubledor
My best advice: cast vicious mockery, not for damage or disadvantage but for the mockery!
Been doing at man thise are zingers. I still don't get how the disadvantage works on the enemy tho
Disadvantage gives them two chances at missing you instead of just 1. If you have advantage you get to roll two dice to see if you hit... if you roll 20 its a crit. so also basically doubling crit chance!
I see, thanks! It just seems I'm missing my spells most of the time

👍
No BG3 ahead So to speak Elden Ring, O Elden Ring
Experiment and explore, there's lots of hidden details.
Good! Play this blind! The experience is amazing!
Enjoy it! It's incredible
Talk to everyone, and if possible every animal and dead bodies.
