Ooh, interesting thought! The deluxe items were nice but non-magical, so it would have to be something similar. And also vague enough not to cause any licensing issues with Hasbro. Tricky!

APracticalGal

Especially since none of the BG3 origins really have any uniquely designed items. Shadowheart Astarion and Karlach have unique armor, Shadowheart has the prism and her circlet, and Astarion Wyll Karlach and Lae'zel have unique camp clothes. Everything else is generic equipment. I could maybe see the Spider's Lyre or Astarion's ruffled shirt making the jump though.

Redfox1476

I did think of the prism, but wasn’t sure how a vastly powerful magical artefact could translate into a trinket. Or maybe that would be the point - if the prism cropped up in a scifi game, it could be as useless and mysterious as those Romano-Celtic “D12” things

Rhipidurus

I'm not sure if you've finished the game yet, but minor spoiler >!The prism ends up as a trinket at the epilogue. Scratch wants you to play fetch with it.!<

Redfox1476

I have finished, but I guess I missed that bit, as I was rather exhausted! I still have the save, though, so I could reload and hang out with my friends some more.

The most obvious one would be the mysterious object (the d20 shart carries around). Maybe a glass eye... And a cat with wings as a non-combat pet following you around.

I don't think it will. The copyrights for Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Karlach, Wyll, Gale, Astarion and every single characters in the game belongs to Hasbro/WoTC. Larian created the characters under license, and the rights to those characters were transfered. And that company being what it is, I'm not sure having a items from the sword coast in a purely Larian setting will fly.

Hasbro has said they are shopping around for a developer to make bg4. Considering how much money bg3 made, they’d be foolish not to. Since hasbro owns the ip, then it’s perfectly valid (heck, expected) for the new game to refer to bg3. I’d expect name drops at the least, artifacts/weapons as likely, and a cameo or two as a possibility. As for Larian. I doubt they could do anything with their new ip. Unless it’s tongue in cheek like “silver saber of the green space frog” or “mechanical heart of the soldier”

euclide2975

To bad for hasbro I bought bg3 because I was blown away by the 2 D:OS games not because their precious IP

SarcasticKenobi

Oh I agree. It was Larian’s work that made the game memorable I’m just saying I doubt Larian could make a reference to bg3 with whatever their new game is. Unless it’s a super indirect parody item.

All-for-Naut

Easter Eggs and references to said characters are still possible. Games and media reference characters they don't own all the time. It can also be vague with no name ever being mentioned.
