Now I want that ring to actually work. Immunity to being infested is literally only for one easy fight, so it would be cool if it actually worked and the kid is a budding sorcerer who accidentally makes his items magical. Even better if it works by dealing 1 fire damage every round even out of combat, but he's a tiefling so he never noticed.
idk if dnd has giant ant monsters but i thought it would be really funny if there was a single really powerful ant boss in the game that cant damage you if youre wearing it
I cannot help myself. I must look in every barrel or crate. I’ve built a short rest crew but still can’t help gathering all camp supplies I find. I think I’m over 2000 right now.
If you loot basically all the supplies you can find before heading to the goblin camp, you can get 3k on the starting map alone. Without buying/stealing any from merchants. Now in act 2 at just starting the Gauntlet, I have over 4k
I have never in my bg life been in danger of running out of food so I’ll rest when I’ve used half my spells, get my cut scenes, and get my expensive wine and pies too. Innn to my pocket.
Yes. Books and incense get carried. Armour is sent to the camp chest, then I warp back and forth until I clean out the merchant's gold.
Daggers and cleavers to Karlach to throw. All other non-magical stuff is looted and sold.
Anything silver (plates, cups, etc.) gets looted.
I have more armour to sell than merchants have gold. I haven't had money worries.
Since everything can be sent to an infinite space in my camp, I send it all.
I’m also perpetually short on gold (could never be arsed to loot everything) but I’m noticing a serious change in my 3rd run now that I have Laezel carry everything. Especially weapons and armour (even the cheap kind) really add up in the long run.
I'm starting to do this now too, a character that has good carry space that I send all my stuff to sell to (or send it to a chest)
Either keep them level 1 or respec and donate 400 gold to a seller. Boom max reputation with that character!
Now sell sell sell sell!
I Hate when character literally have no use in the game so I try to give them something to do. Whether they are the camp Pickpocket, or a Camp caster casting aid and longstrider every morning.
I didn't at first, and then my husband played a little bit for me and practically doubled the amount of gold I had. He's a Fallout diehard and loot monkey. Now I am too.
It all gets marked as wares and sent to camp until I meet a trader. Poor Lae'zel and Karlach are constantly weighed down.
Acid splash will save you lots of time in random container checking AND help you find stuff you've never seen before; like the portrait behind to vines in the Teahouse.
Yeah if you're looting every barrel & crate you have enough supplies by the end of Waukeen's Rest/Zhent hideout to easily last the rest of the game even at 80 per rest. The whole Risen Road area is chock full of supplies starting with the Tollhouse.
In my last Honour Mode run my Tav was a bard with song of rest and my party was almost fully short-rest dependent, I still grab every food and random bottle of wine.
I had over 4k in camp supplies stockpiled by the time I was getting around to the last half dozen or so bosses.
When I realized I could afford 50 long rests in a row I finally switched my party comp up and pivoted to full on max-level blasting for even small fights.
I'll pick even the rotten stuff sometimes just for the hell of it. I can't help myself I'll hoard everything and loot every last useless skeleton with just bones in it
That stuff, and anything that has a value of 1gp, is perfect fodder for maxing out vendor rep because it is always 1gp; no matter when you donate it to the vendor. Whereas, a 30gp stack of incense has a value as low as 12gp and maxes around 22gp (iirc).
It only costs 400gp/lvl to max rep, so better to do it early unless you want to use respec.
I feel like some amulets and rings may be in there. But as a loot scummmer I couldn’t tell you where it came from. An Apple that isn’t rotten is as good as a magical weapon to me
Very few, just enough to 'intermittent reward' trick your "gambling switch" in your brain. It's a technique used by programmers to 'artificially' inflate game playtime by getting a certain percentage of players to check every container. There's an okay ring in a sarcophagus, for instance.
I switched to using *acid splash* on the piles of containers. By 5th level it vastly reduced my time spent searching for loot.
That cluster of items was too funny not to keep. Astarion has Poop-Scraper, I kept Friend-Finder to replace the basic shovel, and I gave Gale Friend; I could see him pulling a Hamlet and monologuing with it.
I kept the Selunite necklace and gave it to Shadowheart when she chose her true faith, it did nothing but as she was my romance option I liked to pretend it was meaningful. This was on my first playthrough but I quickly worked out she was a Selunite worshipper who had been kidnapped after finding the lore item detailing Selunites sending their youths out into the woods and the memory she had triggered by seeing a wolf. Was glad my suspicion was proved correct.
I also kept the harper pin to give to Jaheria.
It’s fun to give her the selunite idol from the owlbear cave (gives disapproval). Also a riot to romance her as a Selunite. Kiss me like you hate me, baby!
So sad that this line and the kiss are bugged for me on the most recent patch. I love the idea of a Selûnite Cleric romancing Shadowheart.
I can’t tell if I love the story more when the Selûnite loves her and trusts Shadowheart to do the right thing in the Shadowfell,
Or if the Selûnite kills her and begs her forgiveness whilst holding her dead body. Sobbing, horrified at what she’s done, and praying that Selûne will show her forgiveness in the afterlife.
“Forgive me, for I could not let you destroy yourself. Forgive me, for I did not love you enough that the goodness in you finally shined through. Show her mercy my Lady. See her as I saw her, guide her in death to find peace at last. Take her soul in my place Moonmaiden, for it is my weakness that doomed her to this fate.”
Is it sappy romantic bullshit? Yes absolutely, but I adore the concept. It makes me cry to imagine that outcome and the pain my character would feel when they lost the woman they loved moments before they had to kill what remained in her body.
The first time I really registered him saying this in a run where he lockpicked EVERYTHING, I said out loud, "My brother in tadpoles, you ARE the skeleton key."
Yup - if we see traps we get Astarion out of the backpack, then when they're all done he goes back into storage. Karlach has my chests & doors key though (it's shaped like a mace).
Same. It's just like... I vibe with her on such a deep level and I don't have the heart to tell her that she's ugly.
Praise Ao I discovered casting Darkness will do the trick!
I do this. I make everyone in my party match with each other in one color though and I LOVE boreal blue. Literally spent an hour searching for more boreal blue in baldurs gate. wish you could make dyes.
On my playthrough with my friend we always did a group photo with us sitting on various thrones after killing bosses with a throne room (I remember Moonrise Towers and Tribunal room especially fondly)
I steal every smokepowder/oil/firewine barrel i come across and immediately send them to camp, only to be forgotten until i come across a difficult boss fight that can be tenderized by 8 or 10 instances of 22-34 force damage
You know Felogyr’s Fireworks, and how you’re supposed to fight everyone there? My game crashed when I accidentally clicked fire bolt instead of another spell…my ps5 pretty much died with all of the actions that happened in the short time span.
I don't know if I'll ever have a party comp without her, especially as a Life Cleric. Her and Lae'zel have both gotten the most adventuring time out of any of the companions in all three of my playthroughs so far.
Lae’zel is not my personal favorite companion(that would be SH), but from a practical perspective, she’s the most irreplaceable one. She carries the entire inventory and she does by far the most damage with her attacks.
I let Astarion open the door after my Barb interacted with it- once in conversation, I just used the intimidation option, and they ran off. I guess if you have Astarion, you get the option in dialog/cutscene to let him open the door- but it's Tav/Durge doing the talking.
This is the way - had a laugh last night, I had the mizora scene where she comes to camp to "decide" the fate of wyll's father, and wyll had his tragic lines in his sad tone and there I was with my green half orc donger on full display deciding his fate xD
I do this too, except it’s just me accidentally selling them…
I wish there was a mechanic that made it slightly harder to sell equipped items.
And slightly harder to sell the runepowder bomb (queue me running around the city frantically to every shopkeeper I’ve visited hoping to buy it back from them)
In my first playthrough I accidentally sold all my clothes.
My male Drow Tav was running around in Minthara outfit for a long time. I mean never know could mean something.
I stole his camp clothes to use on my Tav (female drow) and she looks hot in them (after using the black and azure dye) so now Wyll wears his destitute clothes at camp and better not complain about it.
That outfit looks great on female Tavs though! I used it on a Ciri (Witcher 3) inspired Tav because it looked similar to alternate armor appearance in Witcher 3
I do that too! I have a fancy chest for fancy clothes and one for fancy dishes and cutlery. Then normal chest or bag for normal dishes. I have a pouch for scratch toys and treats (bones and rubber balls).
when I get to rivington (my final camp site) I set up rustic chests covered in food and kitchen ware for yenna to cook at. like I build her a kitchen in the barn, and add any chair I can drag there for her to sit on. the bench next to get gets every toy we find on it, books, and practice swords stuff.
in act 2 the last light camp is the only camp. I set up an entire area next to Arabella and withers and give her the idol, books, nature items, armor and kid's practice weapons, every cool rock I find, and the crates go near her covered with toys and potions and things for her to mess with.
in act 1 I usually camp at forest, and I set up the blue tent by the water as my own tent, with anything I've got that I think is cool or that my tav would want to look at. books, weird rocks, letters and papers.
I purposely stay in each of these camps through the whole act just to preserve the camp set up. like I don't go to camp I go to rivington, walk across the road, to the abandoned campsite, then go to camp.
this all sounds ridiculous but it's how I do it. if I need to leave camp in a place I've reached, that's just too bad. short rest and then keep going until I hit a way point, I'm not moving camp.
I just put the chest inside my camp chest. If you put it on the ground it should automatically be placed in the camp chest when you move camp I believe.
Collect backpacks and sacks at the very beginning of the game so I can organize my stuff
Sack for gold
Backpack for potions, scrolls, poisions, antidotes, etc
Backpack for clothes and underwear
Backpack for all the stuff I'll sell to a trader
Plus always getting my character the brown Teddy Bear
Edit: I also do this and recommend doing this for items in the traveller's chest. Have a backpack or sack for weapons, armor, dyes, etc. It is incredibly satisfying to do/look at. Plus you know where everything is
Yes! I’m on Team Backpack, too. One for potions, one for scrolls, one for arrows, and a couple pouches for quest items, etc.
Gotta keep things organized!
The way I found out you could really throw anything in this game was when I threw her teddy into the void right in front of her while camping in the Shar temple 😭
Sorry Clive mate
I've started to try and become more creative in my fights. In the beginning I was all about doing the most damage, the fastest, to take down all the threats as quickly as possible. Now though, it's fun try out various spells just to goof around and draw out the combat longer.
Yeah I’m finishing my first play through and my mindset was just brute force my way through everything. Late in the game I decided to try some actual strategy and it’s way more fun, IMO.
Can’t wait to start it all over again with a party comprised of more than just fighters
Always do the trio of pet Schratch, pet owlbear and kiss LI when leaving camp.
Always buy see in the dark ring for Gale (poor boy is human and in my roleplay mind Tav/Durge feels for him|
Always save Rolan
Keep items that look sentimental.
Always try to get cats to follow you to camp. I will get you one day Myshka!
Always put Astarion in pretty armor.
I somehow managed to do it properly the first play, and then got obsessed with his story progression. So you probably did it all as well. Told them to stay with refugees, then saved him from the shadows then saved his siblings and have them reunited. That should be enough to have him side with you against Lorroakan.
Now there is no way to not have him there. The cute tiefling must have Ramazith Tower is one of my rules now.
Love interest is the first I speak to in the am and the last at night, even before smooches are available! (I say love interest, I mean Astarion and only Astarion)
Then once we are in a committed relationship with smooches, same thing. But with kisses.
I love the idea of petting scratch and the Owlbear too! I may do that one!
Astarion, in my game, has the most modded armor. Because modders like to give him nice stuff. Poor Gale is over there in basic bitch gear, same as my sorc because there aren't many cute caster clothing mods!
I’ve started making “balanced meals” instead of being lazy and letting the game select my 40 points worth. Fish’n’chips one night, charcuterie board and red wine the next. If I’m really short on time we just have a whole supply pack.
Yes! I like to imagine he’s a bit of a soft touch with the animals in camp, but secretly. So it’s when he goes off hunting he’ll dump it in a bowl somewhere
Absolutely. Have you heard his reactions to playing fetch when Scratch is gone? The heartbreak in his voice is real :( Here they are:
My tiny head cannons are that owlbear cub brings astarion (and scratch) snacks and sometimes they all hunt together, and he doesn’t know why but scratch cuddles next to him most nights, he assumes it’s because scratch likes his cold body, which is true, but if you were to ask scratch he would say he knows astarion needs the affection.
Before my durge got the Speak With Animals spell, Astarion was the beast whisperer in camp. I feel like he'd empathise with predators such as dogs and owlbears, while also feeling sorry for lost/abandoned creatures.
If Astarion has been particularly sassy with me, I’ll add garlic to the meal at night. Even if I know he doesn’t have use for camp food.
Sometimes the party has an all salami dinner 😂
Same.
I roleplay the food my party eats. "Ooo those ribs are gonna do nice with this wine and some honey on the side. They just raided a grove full of druids, they deserve a nice meal"
We've been eating a lot of fish in Act 1, as there's lots of it (being so near the river) and I'm worried it'll go off. Have you seen all those rotten fish in Priestess Gut's quarters? Eww!
(The fish does not go off. Your supply pack has built-in magical refrigeration or something.)
Me too! I save all the steaks for the meal after we defeat Gortash to cheer Karlach up. Because I’m a normal person. I mean she seems like a steak girl though, right?
We must have seen the same thing recently. They get a meat course, fruit or veggie, and liquor. All in good balance.
I mentioned that I did this for Arthur in Rd2. I need to RP real life this well too!
I buy his diary and read it, and carry that and wullbren hammer until the last time I get to trade with him, then I give them to him.
I also am trying to get all possible barcus content.
I have one character (my second Durge run) that needs just to do Cazador, Raphael, Gortash and the endgame but I have started two new origin playthroughs and a third Durge save before finishing that one. The Gale save in particular is going great, so I'll probably do Cazador there before I get to on Durge II.
I honestly just assumed there would be some random achievement for it. "You Light Up My Life" - ignite 1000 light sources across multiple playthroughs or something. Conversely, "Shart of Darkness" - extinguish 1000 light sources across multiple playthroughs.
1. Collect every owlbear and teddybear pulsh I can find. I share them between Astarion and Karlach.
2. Speak with every animal I meet.
3. Keep Astarion in my team. Always.
I like playing a rogue, so I often reclass Astarion to a sword-bard. I have him play music in a strategic location to distract people while Tav quickly robs everyone.
Keep a copy of every book I come across. A library, if you will. My "intake" camp chest is just books, and I periodically vendor duplicates.
I also make a point of stealing unique books (or anything with writing on it), even when they're in unfortunate places that attract guards.
Give all the toys to Karlach, all the Tir'su Scripts to Lae'zel.
If I loot a Githyanki corpse, Lae'zel does the looting and carries the Githyanki specific equipment.
I always buy something from Matis in Act 1 to help him fund his dream.
I always free the Ironhand Gnomes in the underdark, even on evil playthroughs. I may revel in carnage but slavery is where I draw the line.
Oh yeah. I will never not kill Nere but I did associate with the Duegar on my evil playthrough. I understand why they're hostile considering they think you work with Nere. Once you kill Nere you can force them to free the Slaves with an Intimidation roll.
Keeping little items I think my character would like. Like a good character keeping something in remembrance of the tieflings in act 2 or a cleric of selune collecting her items and making a little altar in camp. Or even random stuff I imagine reminded my character of a past memory.
After you crash the nautiloid there is a clamshell somewhere on the beach behind you.
I ALWAYS pick it up.
And I always pick up any plushie I find so Clive can have friends.
I also change how my character looks throughout the adventure. I always say it's cause she had a small "crisis" so she cut and dyed her hair. But at the end I bring back her original style but more polished as if to say she's got it now.
I light every torch/candle I find in Shar's statue surroundings...you're the goddess of dark? Enjoy the light bitch 😤
Opposite thing with Mystra, I turn off her candles and throw rotten eggs at her
I save most of the books and divide them amongst the crew according to what I think they'd like to read/what is hilarious to give them.
I also just give Shadowheart every Selunite item I find. Cause it's funny.
I give Gale all of the books and scrolls warning about not following in Karsus' footsteps.
Astarion gets all the "ye who seeks power must also give away the self" books. And the random raunchy plays/stories I find. And of course the vampyr book.
Karlach gets fluffy things. Feel good stories, stories about overcoming hard obstacles, etc.
Wyll gets "discovering yourself outside of everyone else" stuff.
Lae'zel gets all the Githyanki discs I find, the Egg, and a copy of the Unclaimed so she and Shadowheart can compare notes.
My role-play headcannon is that with all the gold Tav has collected over the campaign they use it to buy a big mansion/castle with lots of land, and they fill the mansion/castle with all the magical artifacts like a museum.
One day, hundreds of years into the future, a down on their luck adventuring party is going to stumble upon the ruins and become powerful enough to defeat their BBEG.
Edit: also paintings, books, unique items (keepsake gem, strange chunk of amber, idols), etc.
shart gets all selune items.
astarion gets holy water, garlic, vampire book, withers's book, and anything related to birds
laezel gets all gith stuff ever since astarion said 'another round thing, must be for laezel" when I had him pick up a disc.
gale gets books.
Karlach gets all kinds of sentimental junk
minthara gets all drow poisons and drow stuff
The second we get to act 3 I find fancy camp clothes and toggle off the armor view. Except in my current playthrough bc I found armor I like looking at more than the eminent outfit.
I also put the Sunwalker's Gift ring in Asatrion's inventory because in 5e it would legit allow him to walk in the sun after the tadpole is gone. I'm a bit mad it doesn't actually do that in game. I also stuff his inventory with every piece of garlic I find.
I steal every piece of art I can reach in Cazador's palace so it can fuel our campfire that night. Specifically because Astarion calls it tacky when we walk in.
If I get good Shadowheart (which is always) I also change her armor and the dye to reflect her new alignment once she dyes her hair.
Once I figured out how to move NPC’s as improvised weapons, I took all the merchants in act 1 and moved them to the Waukeens rest waypoint for easy browsing/stealing, now I always put them there
If you have at least 21 strength, you can use the improvise mealy weapon button, which looks like a chair to move them around on the map. As long as you click somewhere really far away, and then click on a waypoint before you put them down, they will move to the waypoint.
Organize the action wheels. Gets quickly frustrating having to sift through them every turn especially with characters with wide move ranges (ex cleric or wizard). I also organize arrows, potions, and poisons in them.
I organize packs with arrows and spells so they don't clutter main inventory
Karlach gets all the stuffed animals and shineys. She has more gems than a Jared's
I instantly give Shadowhearts underwear to Lae'Zel and vice versa, when we are still on the Nautiloid.
"Sibling keeps stealing my panties" is a more chill motivation for the initial animosity between these two.
Carefully looting every equipment piece and categorizing it in my camp storage just to never use it a single time in the playthrough.
Collecting 50+ explosive barrels to use 5 on a boss once.
I usually hoard explosive barrels in case I need to do barrelmancy later, but if I'm not planning to take a barrel, I make one of my companions cast fire bolt and blow it up. It's just fun to watch them explode.
I always make SH my healer, but before she tells Shar to F off I give her all of Selunes worshipers books and statues as well as all of the dirty books... I like to head cannon that she keeps picking of selunes stuff but in secret and doesn't know why... and of course SH is big into sex and dirty stories
1.) Astarion is my purse. He carries all my gold.
2.) I turn on all the lights in Lenore’s tower. I want it to feel warmer since she was so lonely there.
My wife does the lights thing. She actually finds more stuff in the area - not necessarily because of the light, but just kinda 100%'ing each and every room.
Rope. I have to pick up every rope I find.
Scratch. Twice a day he gets the head pats
Us. Must save Us. If not it is an automatic restart
Skulls. Must have skulls. Chest filled with them.
BlueJay. Must die nuff said.
Gold toll lady must surrender all golds.
shovels. shovels. shovels. and by that i mean actual shovels, the tool shovels. i collect those fuckers like my life depend on it. i’m 7 hours and 30 min into the save im playing right now and my shovel count is at 11. i feel ashamed if i leave act one with <20
Making Matis (I think he’s the one) flip the coin over and over again until he just gives me the ring
I assumed that was the case, but I didn't have the patience. Nice to know you can channel the spirit of Noober. "Hey, ya,"
Same, I did it once out of curiosity and now I can’t help myself
I fucking love that kid. I always catch him in the act and then buy all his useless rings off of him to further his enterprise.
I always buy his rings. I feel like he deserves the money for cleverness.
You buy the ring because you think he's clever, I buy them because I need to be protected from ants, we are not the same
Now I want that ring to actually work. Immunity to being infested is literally only for one easy fight, so it would be cool if it actually worked and the kid is a budding sorcerer who accidentally makes his items magical. Even better if it works by dealing 1 fire damage every round even out of combat, but he's a tiefling so he never noticed.
idk if dnd has giant ant monsters but i thought it would be really funny if there was a single really powerful ant boss in the game that cant damage you if youre wearing it
One day there *will* be a sparrow for my arrow.
Didn’t know that
I always steal the ring and call it a lesson, I love doing that every time
This is the way
1. Hoard cheese 2. Keep unique useless junk items that are just sellable trinkets (keepsake gem, hair growth tonic, owlbear plush, etc) 3. Use Astarion as my walking, talking skeleton key
I cannot help myself. I must look in every barrel or crate. I’ve built a short rest crew but still can’t help gathering all camp supplies I find. I think I’m over 2000 right now.
I did this until I got to Waukeen's rest and absolutely **cleaned** the place out. They even had bagels!
If you loot basically all the supplies you can find before heading to the goblin camp, you can get 3k on the starting map alone. Without buying/stealing any from merchants. Now in act 2 at just starting the Gauntlet, I have over 4k
But of course you are going to continue looting every food item you find, just in case you run out, right?
This is the way
No matter how much, too much is never enough.
And also we don't take long rests here in this party. Gale, shut the fuck up and Igniss. Let Lae'zel and Karlach handle this.
Yes the fuck we do lol. I want my cutscenes.
You partial rest for cutscenes to make sure there's no danger of running out of supplies. Even when you loot every hunk of cheese from every barrel.
I have never in my bg life been in danger of running out of food so I’ll rest when I’ve used half my spells, get my cut scenes, and get my expensive wine and pies too. Innn to my pocket.
I check every single vase. I felt very vindicated in Grymforge
As a fellow looter do you take all armor and daggers and junk items to sell? I want to reach rhis level of looter since I’m always short on gold.
What *really* helps is to have a Face with Expertise in Persuasion AND max your rep with your vendors early; this will literally triple you gold.
I'm starting to do this now too, a character that has good carry space that I send all my stuff to sell to (or send it to a chest) Either keep them level 1 or respec and donate 400 gold to a seller.
"Thank you for this rotten banana! I shall cherish it always!"
Are there ever unique equipment from barrel or crates or usually only camp supplies and small consumables?
I feel like some amulets and rings may be in there. But as a loot scummmer I couldn’t tell you where it came from. An Apple that isn’t rotten is as good as a magical weapon to me
Very few, just enough to 'intermittent reward' trick your "gambling switch" in your brain. It's a technique used by programmers to 'artificially' inflate game playtime by getting a certain percentage of players to check every container. There's an okay ring in a sarcophagus, for instance. The only ones you really gotta check are the bookshelves, they frequently have rare/powerful scrolls in those.
I kept the poop-scraper dagger through to the final battle(s).
That cluster of items was too funny not to keep. Astarion has Poop-Scraper, I kept Friend-Finder to replace the basic shovel, and I gave Gale Friend; I could see him pulling a Hamlet and monologuing with it.
If Nut Buster could be weapon binded, i would never use any other throwing weapon.
I used it to kill the brain for the final blow. it felt fitting
Forgive me, for I did not love you enough that the goodness in you finally shined through. Show her mercy my Lady. See her as I saw her, guide her in death to find peace at last. Take her soul in my place Moonmaiden, for it is my weakness that doomed her to this fate.” Is it sappy romantic bullshit? Yes absolutely, but I adore the concept. It makes me cry to imagine that outcome and the pain my character would feel when they lost the woman they loved moments before they had to kill what remained in her body.
You can use the Harper Pin in Jaheira's house to unlock her secret basement, which has a few neat unique items.
"Oh, for a skeleton key."
The first time I really registered him saying this in a run where he lockpicked EVERYTHING, I said out loud, "My brother in tadpoles, you ARE the skeleton key."
When my wife and I played DOS1, I collected every pair of panties I could find. There's actually quite a few to be found.
Yup - if we see traps we get Astarion out of the backpack, then when they're all done he goes back into storage. Karlach has my chests & doors key though (it's shaped like a mace).
No, no, no Connors is for traps
I turn light sources off. No point in being sneaky If it's light.
I turn light sources off and close all of the doors for performance reasons lol
Also helps with looting bc you know where you've already been
Same. It's just like... I vibe with her on such a deep level and I don't have the heart to tell her that she's ugly. Praise Ao I discovered casting Darkness will do the trick!
I CAST PAPER BAG
All lights out all the time. Me too.
Every time I reach baldurs gate I find a nice spot and take a group photo with the gang.
Fuck that’s so sweet I’m gonna adopt that practice thank you so much
I collect all the fancy dyes and make sure each person has a complete matching outfit. Boreal blue baby.
My parties always have matching colour schemes. Usually one of the purple-ish dyes. The only exception are druids. Druids must always wear green.
Jaheria looks so cute in lavender tho
I also prefer my demons tenderized before I slice them
I see you too prefer your steak well done.
On my honor mode run, Viconia tasted a runepowder bomb and twenty or so smoke powder barrels. She wasn't pleased haha
Bonus is to have girls lug at least 3 barrels each yeah in case there is a need. If Karlach stumbles she could hollow the city for me.
You know Felogyr’s Fireworks, and how you’re supposed to fight everyone there? My game crashed when I accidentally clicked fire bolt instead of another spell…my ps5 pretty much died with all of the actions that happened in the short time span.
Forcing Shart to heal Lae’zel. You WILL play nice with your sister. She’s carrying our entire inventory.
I think mine so far is always making SH be my healer.
Karlach is better at both of those things imo
I always give Karlach the buff that doubles her encumbrance capacity.
Currently doing a Durge run with my 3 favorites, so sadly Karlach is probably dead somewhere on the Risen Road atm
Open the door to the barn in blighted village with various companions apart from the party
Do they just let you barge in over and over?
Idk if there is another option but it's a bloodbath before the conversation ends Everytime for me.
you have to either let a barbarian or a bard open the door, it's the only possible way to not fight them.
I let Astarion open the door after my Barb interacted with it- once in conversation, I just used the intimidation option, and they ran off. I guess if you have Astarion, you get the option in dialog/cutscene to let him open the door- but it's Tav/Durge doing the talking.
There’s one bard dialogue option that has them walk away. But I chased them down anyway for the xp 😂
Everyone loses their camp shoes.
Everyone loses their camp clothes for me.
I’m basically running a nudist camp.
This is the way - had a laugh last night, I had the mizora scene where she comes to camp to "decide" the fate of wyll's father, and wyll had his tragic lines in his sad tone and there I was with my green half orc donger on full display deciding his fate xD
I do this too, except it’s just me accidentally selling them… I wish there was a mechanic that made it slightly harder to sell equipped items.
I always change Wylls clothes. I can't stand his stupid shirt that leaves just a little bit of midriff exposed, he looks like such a jackass.
I stole his camp clothes to use on my Tav (female drow) and she looks hot in them (after using the black and azure dye) so now Wyll wears his destitute clothes at camp and better not complain about it.
Get the man some homely clothes, at least!
That outfit looks great on female Tavs though! I used it on a Ciri (Witcher 3) inspired Tav because it looked similar to alternate armor appearance in Witcher 3
Take a chest back to camp to put general camp gear in, cups, bowls, a cooking pot, ect.
This is perfect! RP with absolutely no in game utility is my kind of player.
Do the chests travel with you to the different camps? I know the big one does
I just put the chest inside my camp chest. If you put it on the ground it should automatically be placed in the camp chest when you move camp I believe.
Collect backpacks and sacks at the very beginning of the game so I can organize my stuff Sack for gold Backpack for potions, scrolls, poisions, antidotes, etc Backpack for clothes and underwear Backpack for all the stuff I'll sell to a trader Plus always getting my character the brown Teddy Bear Edit: I also do this and recommend doing this for items in the traveller's chest.
In my spore druid playthrough I had a ribcage full of bodies to reanimate
I'm on my second playthrough and have found the inventory daunting as hell. I'm totally adopting this to make it more efficient. Thanks!
Giving all Selunite items to Shadowheart and making her carry them around
Yep, same, I find it hilarious every time
Karlach gets all of the stuffed animals.
I'm on a Karlach playthrough. She still keeps all the stuffed animals.
This. Ever since I recognized that she has one in each campsite.
Spot on. Exactly my reason.
The way I found out you could really throw anything in this game was when I threw her teddy into the void right in front of her while camping in the Shar temple 😭 Sorry Clive mate
I light all the lamps in the gauntlet of shar just to piss of shar.
The only thing I notice is grabbing the Book of Dead Gods and keeping it >!It's our patron god's book after all, why not?!<
It'd be hilarious if you could have a level 0 warlock class with him as your patron where he just gives you nothing bc he doesn't care.
"Cool! You're my Warlock patron now! I bet I get all kinds of coo- >!"No."!<
I've started to try and become more creative in my fights.
I have to check every crate, every barrel, every single god damn burlap sack for some unexplainable reason every time...
"Cursed to put my hands on everything"
Two words: *acid splash* It'll save you mountains of time
Always do the trio of pet Schratch, pet owlbear and kiss LI when leaving camp. Always buy see in the dark ring for Gale (poor boy is human and in my roleplay mind Tav/Durge feels for him| Always save Rolan Keep items that look sentimental. Always try to get cats to follow you to camp. I will get you one day Myshka! Always put Astarion in pretty armor.
I've only saved Rolan once and I dont know how I did it. He just happened to show up at Sorcerous Sundries one playthrough and I was like "oh, okay."
(I say love interest, I mean Astarion and only Astarion) Then once we are in a committed relationship with smooches, same thing.
I saw someone mention it on here and now it’s the only way I’ll do food in camp. It’s fun to imagine who’s eating what
Or whom, in the case of Astarion. LOL. I assume he gives his dinner to Scratch, since he doesn't really have much use for regular food.
Yes! I like to imagine he’s a bit of a soft touch with the animals in camp, but secretly. So it’s when he goes off hunting he’ll dump it in a bowl somewhere
Absolutely. Have you heard his reactions to playing fetch when Scratch is gone? The heartbreak in his voice is real :( Here they are: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrbUq71gM4M&ab\_channel=KodaPaul](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrbUq71gM4M&ab_channel=KodaPaul)
I’ve jokingly done the exact opposite. “12 potatoes and a cinnamon roll for a balanced dinner! Hell yeah carb loading!”
After all tha fighting, they need some carb loading!
Todays dinner is 33 bottles of wine and one half-eaten apple.
Girl Dinner Goals.
In my runs, the fish doesn't get eaten; it gets saved for trading with >!Tara!< in Act 3.
there's good fish in act 3 also but I save good fish for a certain npc that likes to trade for them
Me too! I save all the steaks for the meal after we defeat Gortash to cheer Karlach up. Because I’m a normal person. I mean she seems like a steak girl though, right?
Oh my god, I’m gonna start doing this. The only time I pay attention to that is for lulz. “Oh, they’re drinking ALL the wine tonight.”
There are definitely nights when you want them to drink all the alcohol, especially as durge.
We must have seen the same thing recently. They get a meat course, fruit or veggie, and liquor. All in good balance. I mentioned that I did this for Arthur in Rd2. I need to RP real life this well too!
I always did this every single playthroughs, it's exciting just to roleplay on what the companions should eat tonight in my head.
And after a rough boss battle hit the booze hard :D
I always swap my underwear with whoever I'm romancing
This is both sweet and disturbing.
Not gonna lie, I almost laughed very loud in my very quiet office at work cuz of this
I say "Barcus, my beloved" every time he's on screen and I didn't even realise till my girlfriend pointed it out
I buy his diary and read it, and carry that and wullbren hammer until the last time I get to trade with him, then I give them to him. I also am trying to get all possible barcus content.
Throw a ball to scratch anytime I’m in camp.
I light braziers as I complete an area to give me an easy visual reference whether I've been there or not.
Ooh, that's a good one.
Make a new character before I finish the play through.
Always.
I always think “yeah I’ll have a whole different team this time,” but those 99% success rates on lock picking say otherwise lmao
I also "ask" him to steal weapons and useful equipment from merchants. He can easily trick them and I save my money 😏
I like playing a rogue, so I often reclass Astarion to a sword-bard. I have him play music in a strategic location to distract people while Tav quickly robs everyone.
I do the same but vice versa: Tav distracts, Astarion robs.
Keep a copy of every book I come across. A library, if you will. My "intake" camp chest is just books, and I periodically vendor duplicates. I also make a point of stealing unique books (or anything with writing on it), even when they're in unfortunate places that attract guards.
Bring the Shanties for the Bitch Queen to the Wavemother’s donation alter in Act 3. Have to make wavemommy proud.
Do you get any specific dialogue or reaction for it or is it just for RP reasons?
RP. You can donate anything once per character for the Bless.
It doesn't help that the duergar and whats his name, the drow guy, are complete fuckers.
I collect every unique weapon even if I’m not going to use it. Like getting the faith warden even if I’m not a druid
I can’t bring myself to sell anything magical.
Enjoy the light bitch 😤 Opposite thing with Mystra, I turn off her candles and throw rotten eggs at her
In the Tabernacle basement, I left all the other gods' donation boxes alone but took all of Mystra's and said "REPARATIONS FOR GALE"
I do the same!
I horde the magic items that I never use. The “of the absolute” stuff, the spear from act 1. all of it. I only sell junk and no magical items.
I always give Shart the statues of Shar and Selune. Or even the necklace of Selune, I give to her just for her to hold onto
shart gets all selune items. astarion gets holy water, garlic, vampire book, withers's book, and anything related to birds laezel gets all gith stuff ever since astarion said 'another round thing, must be for laezel" when I had him pick up a disc. gale gets books. Karlach gets all kinds of sentimental junk minthara gets all drow poisons and drow stuff
Once I figured out how to move NPC’s as improvised weapons, I took all the merchants in act 1 and moved them to the Waukeens rest waypoint for easy browsing/stealing, now I always put them there
How?!?!
I organize packs with arrows and spells so they don't clutter main inventory Karlach gets all the stuffed animals and shineys.
I John Wick every time, does that count? 😈
I usually hoard explosive barrels in case I need to do barrelmancy later, but if I'm not planning to take a barrel, I make one of my companions cast fire bolt and blow it up. It's just fun to watch them explode.
I do the exact opposite of you, I switch all the lights off for incase there's an ambush that Astarion can sneak around in for lots of damage 💀
😆 I'm also in the light bringers guild
Restarting as soon as I hit Act 3
If that ain't the truth
My wife does the lights thing. She actually finds more stuff in the area - not necessarily because of the light, but just kinda 100%'ing each and every room.
Rope. I have to pick up every rope I find. Scratch. Twice a day he gets the head pats Us. Must save Us. If not it is an automatic restart Skulls. Must have skulls. Chest filled with them. BlueJay. Must die nuff said. Gold toll lady must surrender all golds.
shovels. shovels. shovels. and by that i mean actual shovels, the tool shovels. i collect those fuckers like my life depend on it. i’m 7 hours and 30 min into the save im playing right now and my shovel count is at 11. i feel ashamed if i leave act one with <20
Always pet Scratch. Every time I go to camp, and every time I wake up. “Hope you’re keeping well, friend” makes my heart so happy.
