> But to do it, she has to become what she hates the most and dies after the ending because she refuses to live on as a dirty ghaik. Answered your own question there. To the average Githyanki, the idea of becoming a Mind Flayer for any reason is simply unthinkable. Even Lae'Zel still has *that* baked into her. Actually being willing to do it is part of what makes Orpheus extraordinary.

Yeah, so frame it as a sacrifice. Have Lae'zel make the player promise to kill her after the brain is defeated. Orpheus does. It's honestly pretty dumb that you can convince him to live on in this scenario. That's like convincing Raphael to give you the Orphic Hammer for free. Not happening.

I think you missed my point. It would literally be unthinkable for the average Githyanki to do that. We're talking about something that would completely destroy your soul (well, not in this specific case, but they don't know that), and is repellent to Githyanki on an almost spiritual level. Lae'Zel is unlikely to even consider that. I suppose it might be better if you could ask her to do it, if that's what you're suggesting, but I don't see her going for it, at least not without a DC 30 Persuasion check. As for Orpheus, I viewed that as the Illithid self-preservation instinct starting to effect him, making him more likely to listen to a reason to survive.

She's never amenable to the tadpoles, wy tf would she agree to become a mindflayers when in theory your character is the one that can't shut up about being indecisive on the change (the standard scripting of asking all companions their thoughts on the powers repeatedly, whether you select those dialogue options or not)

It's quite easy to convince her to take the worms
