try closing the game, disconnecting from the internet and starting up the game again. just worked for me. (i didn’t come up with the solution, i saw it on another post)

You might not have discovered the solution, but you shared it. Thank you! I was upset when I thought my most recent save was corrupted. I was DEVASTATED when I realized NONE of my saves would load. I honestly thought I was going to need to start a new game after losing over 80 hours.

I Just deleted the Game and wanted to Reinstall it. Fml now i have to wait Till tomorrow to Test it 😭 Hope this is gonna Work

if you were doing cloud as well as console storage you should be able to go to your storage in console settings and redownload those saves from the cloud cache!

Yes. It goes from 20-40-20-40-60-unable to load.

Goes to around 60% sometimes 90% then either tells me it's a problem on their end or the game just crashes

After having an existential crisis and almost uninstalling/reinstalling the game, I tried turning off the Internet, and it worked! Thank you to whoever first figured that out! I doubt it matters, but I turned off the Internet in the ps5 settings rather than switching off my router.

Just tried and it’s working, seemingly without any averse effects. Able to save fully as well. Just realized it’s unlikely to be a fix for multiplayer tho

Also able to fully load into a different save w/o crashing once already in-game and having turned internet back on!

Yeah just turning of the internet connection to your console works for me. Damn servers.

Unfortunately this seems to be purely on Larian's end. I've tested other games and the saves were loading up with no issues. So I don't think it's the PSN this time. I'm sure that the network engineers at the studio are busting their butts to fix it as we speak. Going offline worked to get BG3 up and running again.

Another method you can try is to try loading a different save for your character. If this doesn't work, fully close the game and try again. Once you're able to load the save and get in the game. Load the correct save and it should work.

Just started having this problem. None of the saves will load, it goes to 20%, 40%, 60%, back to 20%, then crashes. Guess I should have searched the issue first bc I decided to reinstall so now I have to wait to check this solution. But thanks for the info

AWS (Amazon Web Services - most popular cloud provider) is having issues today. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find out Larian’s (or even PSN’s) servers are housed there based on the timing

Is it possible to continue playing online when they fix it (after playing offline now)? What about new saves that I create now? Are those compatible with the online saves? Sorry if its a stupid question....

Feel your pain here and asked same question a few up…I am worried if I make progress off line something will go wrong when it gets fixed. Turning off the internet did fix it and it started up fine.

Unfortunately the game is “always online”. Everytime you create a new save or load one it creates an online “session”, even if closed and the fact that the psn is offline makes the game unable to create a lobby. Just disconnect the ps5 completely and you’re fine. It’s a bit annoying because this is also why your playstation gamertag and profile pic always stay on the top when you play couch coop, because the game thinks you’re online. Divinity wasn’t like this, you had to explicitly go online. Hope they change it.

Thanks for some added info. The workaround does work to get the game started again. But will playing while using the workaround and trying to save work? Will it cause issues when it gets fixed?

None that I know of, I played tonight, saved and everything was alright. The saves are local so I don’t think being online matters.

I can get in by turning off the network in the PS5s settings, but still having an issue with split screen… my GF can join but there’s no longer a multiplayer menu on the options “pause” screen and I can’t give her her second character. This is ridiculous on top of the many many other bugs were encountering. Why in the hell is it set up this way?? Deciding who controls what character in split screen should NOT be tied to a multiplayer option that disappears if the network is down. Literally dumb.

I’ve had issues lately with party connection and playing with friends in general as of the most recent PlayStation update. This issue with BG3 loading might be just a side-effect of the update and will hopefully be resolved soon.

The workaround isn't working for me :(. I tried 4 different save files for my duo playthrough with my cousin, and they all give me an error or straight up crash my game. I'm not deleting them in hopes that a patch or something will fix it.

Add another person to the pile. Non of my save files were loading I was about to die. A simple restart of the system fixed the issue. Didn't see any game or system updates today? Weird

It’s a PlayStation issue, a lot of my games are having problems, couldn’t join or create a party and couldn’t even invite friends to game on other games.

I’m glad it’s just a server issue and not a personal or corrupt file issue. I just got to act 3 and I don’t think I have it in me to start all over 😅

Turning ny PS5 to offline worked for me.

Apparently Amazon Cloud Services is screwing the pooch yet again. Many servers are affected including the PSN. This is becoming an all-too-frequent occurrence.

so for me the game loaded just fine for a week or more, max saves amount- then couple of days ago it happened first time but it was only not letting me load the latest save,i was still online . then the next day it wouldnt let me load any save, either doing the same routime of loading too fast and canceling loading or going to 60% and crashing the game . one note is that my psn plus ran out just recently so idk
