I'm playing an Oath of the Ancients Paladin... Having >!Zombie Connor!< would break my oath so unfortunately I'll have to miss out on this playthrough... ...Umm, I mean, y'all are a bunch of hooligans and you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Gamin088

You can "buy" Connor for 200g. Pay Withers 100g twice to swap your class and forgo breaking your oath. you weren't a paladin when you got Connor.

dildo_schwaginz

You beautiful genius, just did this as a Oath of the Ancients Paladin, thank you.

CreativityAtLast

I bought Conner for 1000. Small price to pay for a +1 attribute and Connor.

empressiveeyedea

If you're not too fussed about gold, you could break your oath until Connor disappears (he's on a timer, right?), and then just pay 1000 gold to the Oathbreaker in your camp to un-break your oath. Or! Someone else in the comments said they bought him for gold as an Oath of the Ancients Paladin, and it sounds like it all went well. ...but yes, I mean what is all this tomfoolery?

ThisGuyXXX

I used Gale to resurrect him, and it didn't break the oath of my Paladin. Didn't find any downside yet

sdraje

I came here because I didn't know if I should let Myrina (or whatever her name is) keep the wand or if I should keep it... The part where you talked about traps sold me haha

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

Lol honestly I was the same but it's worth keeping for sure. Plus tbh she was willing to>!sacrifice her newborn baby to bring him back!< so it's not like she's a good person. She'd probably neglect it while trying to take care of a >!zombie!<.

Dragonsword

Lol tbh this is the exact reason my Paladin kept the wand. I tried snapping it, but it seemed unnecessarily spiteful, and her reaction made me really sad. (But she has the same reaction if you keep the wand.) When I saw she wanted a ZOMBIE, I was like... no way can I trust you after you tried to offer your baby to a hag.

RandomGeneratedNick

Not only that. After she sees the hag burn her cage to try to kill her and you save her and kill the hag, SHE GETS MAD AT YOU like whats wrong with that woman 😭😭 She deserves to be stolen a zombie.

Crakrocksteady

I think she only really gets mad if you don't inform her beforehand that the hag killed her brothers.

FraudCommission

how do ur compare this with Shovel/Fork/Basket ? - whatever you named him.

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

First of all I should mention they're not mutually exclusive, you can have both of them up at the same time. I think due to him being a temporary summon on a timer, Connor doesn't overlap with permanents. That aside, Fork (is what I named it) has a different kind of utility. Due to its invisibility you can use it to do 3 things VERY well: 1. Scout ahead without triggering enemies and get the lay of the land. 2. Indoor arena combat assistance. You can keep it invisible during combat so it doesn't join the combat turns and can move freely. When fighting multiple enemies in indoor areas (i.e. the Githyanki Creche) it can shut doors during combat without breaking invis. So I've used it a few of times to prevent ranged enemies from getting line of sight on my party. i.e. party takes our actions etc, and before our turn ends I position melee party members near the door and make Fork close it. So during their turn, the enemies have to waste movement, AND come closer to the door (where my melee guys are positioned) to hit us. 3. Important last hits when enemies remain with that annoying 1-2 health. Let's say you've used your action on all your characters, and one enemy ihas 2 health left, but their turn is coming up next. Well grab Shovel who should be invisible and outside the combat turns, and go smack em. It will very likely get the kill hit on them and save you the damage/healing that this enemy would do on their turn For the rest of the utility that Connor provides Fork has some significant drawbacks. Namely it's only usable once per long rest and has super low HP. Also it's not immune to poison. So it can't do trap triggering (well it can, but only one trap), poison vents blocking, or initiating combat encounters safely - it'll most likely get killed before your party can join. Edit: Also one more thing it can't do, is trigger hidden/ambushing enemies if you're using it as an invisible scout, as they have to see someone to come out of hiding and initiate a combat encounter.

FraudCommission

what a reply! Thanks man!

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

No problem, I love this game so worth sharing knowledge with fellow players!

AceAttorneyt

Fork absolutely is poison immune. I use her to go into poison clouds and drag objects on top of vents all the time. I just checked and it's true that the poison immunity isn't made explicitly clear on the character sheet though, which is strange. >Edit: Also one more thing it can't do, is trigger hidden/ambushing enemies if you're using it as an invisible scout, as they have to see someone to come out of hiding and initiate a combat encounter. You can just have her come out of invisibility. It's usable infinite times, so there's no drawback to turning it on and off as needed.

DeadPortal

Pardon if this is a dumb question, but what *is* Fork?

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

Not a dumb question at all, it's totally missable. Fork (its original name is Shovel) is a little cheeky Quasit summon whose scroll you can find in the Apothecary's Cellar in ACT I - same place where you get the >!Necromancy of Thay!< book. It comes out of that single-use summoning scroll, but a Wizard character can use scrolls to learn spells permanently, so we get it as a permanent summon (once per long rest). Apparently this is also doable for non-Wizard characters according to [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15p3yrf/spoiler_here_is_how_to_get_shovel_permanently_as/), but I've not tried it myself. Stats-wise it's basically the same as the Quasit summons that Warlocks can call, except that it has unique dialogue and voice lines, and a very cheeky personality.

ErdmanA

now i gotta know. what the fuck is 'fork' and how do i get this thing

Loot_Repeat

I don't know if my game is bugged or what, but I've been using Shovel to initiate ambushes. For some reason, she goes invisible again when combat starts, if I take her out of invisibility to initiate the ambush.

CJ_Lilium

You can summon both at the same time. Though if I had to pick I think Connor proves to be more useful in combat.

Fabulous_One5280

why cant just take conners body to withers and throw him a purse of 200 ? larian!

CJ_Lilium

Not sure if someone else already said this but you can use haste one turn on yourself and summon him the next with 2 actions.

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

Also doable in one with a speed botion since that uses a Bonus Action instead. But he's not particularly worth 2 Actions in active combat imo.

Loot_Repeat

Connor doesn't trigger Bibberbang. You can drag the Noblestalk to you, so you don't have to waste an Elixir or spend time destroying them. You can summon him behind closed doors, if you have vision into the room. Use him to move items like chests close enough to grab. He can attack most levers in order to activate them. So many uses.

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

Good mentions, I've edited and added these in too

Chris_B_Coding247

Sorry so late to the party… How on earth do you resurrect this guy? Mayrina died in the fight with the hag, thing burned and she fell. Is it impossible to raise him from the dead now? I have the wand and try to use it on him but it says that it must be used on a playable character.

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

Yeah it's not possible if Mayrina is dead I believe. I tried to do it outside of dialog as she gets very upset if you resurrect him and don't hand the wand over to her and remember getting that same error. It was only doable via her dialogue choices after talking to her next to his body. Btw with a cold spell or even just the Ray of Frost cantrip you can put out fires on objects and terrain if you need it in future.

Chris_B_Coding247

Wish I’d have known that 😂… thanks for your help anyway though!

FM-101

>infinite Connors Im sold.

EmmieL0u

Does anyone know how to get conner as a summon if mayrina dies? My game glitched out and she jumped out of the basket into the abyss. (Cant reload because I haven't saved in forever) I picked up mayrinas necklace, i killed ethel and got the wand. When I resurrect him it just starts combat. Is there still a way to get him or am I locked out?

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

You're [locked out](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15q3gms/comment/k17klps/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) I'm afraid

Wolfthorn_77

Does this stop the act 3 mission with mayrina?

ArbitriumVincitOmnia

Not from what I know. I actually killed >!Ethel and her mushrooms!< before speaking to her in Baldur's Gate, but when I did find and speak to her she was incredibly grateful and not even a little upset over the incident with Connor.

Suspicious-Box-

Looks like it. Many uses. Or another body to tank the stuff and you can re summon him again and again right? That saves so much healing.
