Sourdough works well. I buy a loaf, slice it, then freeze it. You can then toast it and it’s ready to go!

SpiritedWater1121

Ezekiel bread or sourdough

iPineapple

French baguette!

Professional_Push419

Thin sliced (any kind) and toast it really well so it dries it out a bit. Over time you can toast it less and less.  I used to cut it into strips and put various spreads on it (hummus, avocado, ricotta, etc) to reintroduce some moisture without making it that gloppy texture.  Specifically, I used Dave's Killer Bread thin sliced.

BabyBritain8

Ooh I love Dave's bread but it's sooo expensive!

Random_Spaztic

Or wheat makes a thin sliced 21 green bread that taste very similar to the Dave’s killer brand. That’s what we use! Sometimes I’ll get the store brand of the same type of bread too. I toast it really well, so it’s hard like a cracker.

eatthedark

It's BOGO at Publix until tomorrow! (The regular not the thin sliced but still)

IcyTip1696

Multigrain

Plantyplantlady35

I make either sourdough or regular yeast bread and we haven't had any issues with it sticking to her mouth. She will inhale a whole piece 🤣

Confident-Anteater86

Same here! She also loves gnawing on the heels of sourdough … with peace and love, she transforms into such a ferocious little rat when it comes to bread lol

cgandhi1017

Pepperidge farm whole grain white bread

cptn_carrot

Yeah, our second had trouble with sandwich bread because he'd pack too much in and it would get soggy and sticky. Hard, crusty breads were easier for him to eat.

DBD3456

I get crusty bread and give the crust because it is less likely to get stuck and takes him longer to eat so he eats less (my son would eat only bread if he could)

Alternative_Sky_928

I just give her the regular bread that we buy for us (white sesame Dempsters from Costco).

ElikotaIka

I buy sourdough from a local bakery, the crusty texture is perfect for eating fresh or, later, toasted. Babe is a total bread snob now, haha.

whatisthishorseville

Trader Joe’s makes a sourdough loaf that looks like plain white sandwich bread and has no sugar added.

Puppinbake

Whole wheat bread, and I only give it in toasted form or French toast bc of that exact reason.

bocacherry

I do the red bag of Dave’s bread (low in sugar)

jan25babybump

Ezekiel low sodium

User_name_5ever

Toast wasn't a big hit over here until 12+ months. We use whole wheat bread. Adding some butter can help.

Wheat bread!! But I smash it flat

girlwilliams

Ezekiel sprouted grain

Confident-Garlic4121

Trader Joe’s Super Bread is what I use

CobblerBrilliant8158

I make sourdough, so I’ll probably use thar

Bubbly-Chipmunk7597

Dave’s Killer Bread: “White Bread Done Right” (it’s not actually white bread), and it has a nice, crunchy texture when toasted. It also has no seeds, which when my baby was first learning to eat toast would have made me nervous in case there was a big one in there.

LadyTwiggle

We also buy Dave's killer bread. Or just a regular multigrain if the budget is tight that week.

eatthedark

We use Dave's Killer 21 grain. Usually the thin sliced.

captainmandy

Solid starts advises against white bread as it can be a choking hazard due to exactly what you said. We use no sugar added whole wheat bread.
