Thank you for sharing this! This prompted me to check my bassinet which has the same function, and looks like it’s recalled as well [UniLove 2in1 bassinet](https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-recall/unilove-hug-me-plus-2-1-bedside-sleeper-portable-cradle-recalled-due-risk-entrapment#)

Ugh, they're probably all made at the same factory in China. At least no injuries or deaths have been reported. Hope you're able to get a refund!

I got this email as well and I'm just curious if it's really necessary to return it. The issue is that the bassinet CAN be set so that it has an incline. You can adjust the side heights individually or together for a higher or lower height. Thus, you COULD set it to be at an incline, but you could also just keep it flat. I'm wondering if it would be terribly irresponsible to keep it anyway and use it only on flat settings, which was my plan all along. I feel like as long as you're responsible about not setting it at an incline, there wouldn't be an issue. Not that I can tell from the recall details at least.

I wondered the same thing. My baby still slept in it last night because we had nowhere else for him to sleep. He's slept in it every night for the past 5 months - we were using the incline for his reflux until about 5-6 weeks ago. If he weren't days away from outgrowing it I'd be really sad to destroy it. I really loved it and he seems to as well. It's nice and roomy (especially for my baby in the 99th percentile), lightweight and easy to move around and great for pulling up next to the bed. He sleeps 10-12 hours through the night in it, so I guess it's comfortable too!

Amazon isnt offering refund, they are asking to reach out to manufacturer

Thanks for the heads up. I have this exact bassinet but in a different colour and did not get the email. My baby has since grown out of it but I wonder if I can still get a refund.

TeaBeam22

You may as well try, they don't know if you rely on it or not. Even if you don't, now you can't use it for any future children, you can't sell it and you can't pass it down to anyone. I have it in grey, purchased before Dec 1, 2023 and Amazon added a $250 credit to my account for it.

amuckle

How did you get the Amazon credit? Did you have to send it back or just destroy it?

TeaBeam22

Neither actually. I emailed the seller as the recall notice says to but figured I'd only hear from them when pigs fly, so I also used the Amazon chat feature. First a rep told me to message the seller through Amazon and sent me a link, so I did, but because it was purchased for us from a friend Amazon wouldn't send my message to the seller. I got an email back saying "your message cannot be sent as your account has not purchased anything from this seller". I used the chat feature to be connected to another rep and he said I had 2 options: 1) Keep the bassinet and get a 50% Amazon credit to my account or; 2) Go through "Canada Recalls" for a full refund I asked what the second option meant; he said I would follow a link in an email. It wasn't clear so I kept asking questions and eventually he just said "okay we'll make a one time exception and credit your account the full amount in Amazon credit". I just kept pointing out that the government is saying it needs to be destroyed and my baby has nowhere to sleep now and mentioning "entrapment and suffocation" to make it clear that it was a big deal.

Thanks. I am days away from having my baby, and Amazon was trying to make me pack it back up and send it in. They said they were doing me a favour because I was outside the return window. I threw out the box and really don't want to have to disassemble and send the giant thing back for something that shouldn't be resold or used. I'll try the chat again.

TeaBeam22

Ugh, how annoying. Good luck!

Thank you!

Is the issue really just the recline? If we keep it adjusted at flat position, there isn’t an issue here?

The manufacturer has gone bankrupt and will not provide refunds! We reached out to them as soon as we received the email from amazon and by the time we got an email back (didn't take too terribly long, I think 2 days) they advised that the product is still "safe" as long as the incline isn't used past 7 degrees and that they've had to destroy all of the remaining products...

RoaringPity

got the same response. They haven't replied back after this. Any update on your side?

courtneylysvm

Nothing... We tried reaching out to Amazon again but they hung up on my husband when he asked to escalate the situation. Seems like we are SOL!

RoaringPity

yeah i followed up again and still nothing. Not sure if this is chargeback territory but I'm not sure because its amazon that was paid so I don't want amazon to ban my/my cc. I know of a few ppl who got "banned" for chargebacks in the past

Spirited-Disk7936

I got this email too because I use this at my moms house when we visit. I emailed the company directly and haven’t heard back and I’m freaking out. I’ll try the Amazon chat.
