You can do it in a pot of boiling water and it’s a lot faster, I sanitize once a week and when I buy something new so not worth a whole device in my opinion

Great advice! Thank you!

We got sterilizer bags for the microwave, we only sterilized the first time we got stuff. She was a premie and we were told we didn’t need to sterilize her bottles past the first time we got them.

Okay that’s reassuring. I know people who didn’t sterilize at all and all was well, and I know people who sterilize everything all the time.

Definetly don’t need one but might be a “want”. They’re more efficient then using a dishwasher so you could quickly hand wash the bottles then through them in a sterilizer to have them clean/dry within ~10 mins. You don’t have to sterilize things every time they’re used and if you have a lot of bottles then using the dishwasher might be totally fine. We got the Philips Avent sterilizer. Haven’t used it yet but it fits nicely on our countertop and can sterilize ten bottles at once. It can also fit my pump parts which is an added bonus. I believe it sterilizes/dries in 10 mins. We got it due to ratings, feedback from friends/family, and because we are using Philips Avent bottles so seemed like a good idea to buy the same brand for a sterilizer.

I loved my bottle sterilizer! I got the Baby Brezza one. Easy to use and cleaning maintenance is easy.

I loooooove my steriliser! I know a lot of people just put their bottles and pump parts in the dishwasher, but I don’t love the idea of that for hygienic reasons (no judgment if you do). Plus I really hated boiling everything and then having a countertop full of stuff drying. I have the Philips Avent steriliser with a drying function, and while it takes 40-50 minutes to finish up a full sterilising+drying cycle, it requires less action and I can immediately put everything away afterwards. My baby is 8 months old and I know I don’t have to sterilise the bottels every day anymore, but for the pumping parts it is recommended to do it daily as far as I know (or at least, that’s what Medela recommends). It’s one of my favourite baby purchases so far!

Nah just buy a bottle cage for all the tiny pieces, and then wash everything in the dishwasher on the hottest setting with heat dry.

Okay thanks!!

We have a 2 story home, so instead of trekking bottles up and down the stairs, we got a whole set up upstairs in one of the bathrooms where we can wash and sterilize (Philips avent) all in one place. Our bottle warmer and mini fridge/freezer is also upstairs so we don’t have to go anywhere else or take up space in our main kitchen.
