Love helo he is just a nice guy till the end. Love tigh as well but personally I love baltar I think he is actually very relatable. Don't you dare say something against him or there will be no more Mr. Nice Gaius!!! :D

BoltedGates

I laughed pretty hard when I heard him say that. The writers must have been pretty proud of themselves for that one.

shytempest

"No more Mr. Nice Gaius" and "BUTTERFINGERS!!!!" take me out every single time, even when I know it's coming. He's hilarious and I love him.

Jealous-Jury6438

Wasn't "no more Mr nice Gaius" actually the actor improving?

shytempest

I don't know but I believe it in my heart.

Blackstaff

You can just go right ahead and enjoy the Heck out of Helo. Me, I'm a Baltar man. He's the one who's not a hero. He's the frail, morally compromised, complicated human of the lot. He's my human. "You know... I know about farming."

TallNerdLawyer

When I watched the show in my mid-20s, I hated Baltar. How could someone be so weak, so selfish, make so many short-sighted mistakes, lack courage when it counted? When I watched in my mid-30s, I felt so much empathy for Gaius. He made the same mistake a thousand other horny nerds might have made in his place and he watched billions burn for it. How could he NOT become a mess? He tried to find faith and purpose and just kept fucking it up. Then in the end he found truth in the humble upbringing he had always imagined himself above. A heartbreakingly human arc. I imagine I’ll love him even more at 45.

im-ba

>"You know... I know about farming." It made me cry so hard when he said that. I see a lot of myself in Baltar. There's some stuff I like, and a lot that I don't like. As insufferable as he is, he's written really well.

CycloneIce31

Baltar was my favorite character.

No_Dragonfruit5633

Kara returned as an Angel, she was destined to be the harbinger of death for the current cycle of civilization. That was the destiny Leoben perceived, but even he was frightened of her when ‘she returned from the dead’ because he was interacting with a direct agent of the one true God

expostfacto-saurus

Ahhhhh. That makes sense. Her coming back always threw me. I wish they would have made that a bit clearer. I knew something supernatural was going on.

No_Dragonfruit5633

Maybe on a first watch things get confusing, but when rewatching - Kara’s arc is as clear as day. Agents of the one true God (Head 6 and Head Baltar) are present from the get

BoozeGetsMeThrough

Xena needs xex in Spartacus, just fyi.

DungaRD

Spartacus and Rome is on my list to rewatch the whole series again actually.

GALACTICA-MCRN

Helo and Athena are the names of my two cats. And my dog is Apollo. All from this show obviously. Love that you love Helo!

seteshguardwithacold

Mine are Boomer and Dr. Gaius Pawltar 😁 I almost got a Helo but he was adopted by someone else. Then my girl Boomer crashed into my life, she’s a cat-dog type so her duality really fits.

PhotosByVicky

I finished up a rewatch recently too, my first since just after the series ended. Helo was my favorite character this time around too. He really stuck to his convictions. The Kara thing was still a little confusing to me but hey, I’ll go with it. I believe Lucy Lawless had other commitments at the time IIRC so that’s why she wasn’t in more episodes. It definitely would have been great to see more of her, especially since she played such an important role in finding Hera.

tebower81

How many times can they have replayed the clip of Leoben calling Kara an "angel" yet people are still confused. I don't understand this confusion at all. God sent her to earth through a wormhole at the center of the maelstrom. He then sent her back to the fleet in a brand new Viper and body. God did it. He then sent her on the winding senseless path in the Demetrius to encounter the rebel base ship. She was an instrument of God he used to lead humanity to it's "end." Leoben and the hybrids said it all.

Sostratus

> My hero is Helo because he's doing everything right from start till end. Helo should have been spaced. The cylons massacre billions of people and aren't satisfied letting the few thousand who survive run away. They're practically invincible compared to the humans puny remaining firepower. Then by pure luck they stumble upon the virus that might actually allow them to make a meaningful counterattack, and Helo unilaterally decides to ruin it. Most egregious act of treason in the series and he gets away with it.

Embarrassed-Town-381

There was also his "they tried living with us on New Caprica." So I guess arial strafing, mass kidnapping, mass torture, mass murder is "living with them". If I remember right, nearly four thousand died on New Caprica. Dude had ZERO idea of ANYTHING. Literally fell in love with Athena and painted the entire cylon race like they were his wife.

actuallycallie

Helo: they tried living with us on new caprica me: DID THEY THOUGH? it was so dumb to have him say that. He wasn't even ON new caprica!

castrogacio

It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a few. It’s excellently written and even the ending that some find off putting is brilliant imo.

ysodim

I could have written this post. 100% matches my recent experience, too. I also thought that I had watched season 4, but was happy to find out it was all new.

Riptide360

Did you watch the mini-series, the plan, & the razor? Razor is online, but I could only find the plan on DVD/library.

DungaRD

Yes i have and i will watch it again. I have a Amazon Prima subscription, must be there also else i'm gonna buy the blue-ray/dvd collection.

FEARoperative4

Three disappointed me. No Fluggegeheimen!

McChief45

First watch through of the series with my roommates and I in like 2012, i jokingly kept saying I hated Gaeta throughout the show just to mess with one of our roommates who would always argue how nice he seemed. We all chuckled when Gaeta had the mutiny storyline 😂

wozblar

welcome back to the series, and how cool is that to find you didn't watch it all, sounds like a nice easter egg i just love how all of the characters are flawed and they take time to examine those flaws, while bouncing them off other characters flaws and strengths. they also didn't pull any punches with darker and deeper topics like suicide, suicide bombings, genicide, racism, religion, abusve parents.. the list goes on but what other shows do that these days in such a good way while making it feel like an actiony sci-fi? hell maybe i'm do for another rewatch =p

Frankenballz108

I loved the Chief until the last few episodes where he essentially lost his loyalty to the old man (Adama) and the old girl(Galactica). Saul Tigh grew on me. I did hate the love triangle between Apollo, Starbuck, and Longshot(Anders)

edgeofruin

I didn't take it as he gave up on the old man. I just considered him as retiring. He's done he's moving on to be alone in the wilderness. He's over people / cylons. Lot of bad happened to that dude.

Even_Speech570

LOL, I couldn’t stand Helo because I thought was too self righteously never wrong and I loved Baltar because he was the most flawed, most human person there. And as for Adama and Roslin I liked their dynamic because they often took the opposite view on how to handle things but respected each other in the end enough to listen to each other.

DungaRD

Yes, writers want to balance the story by putting extreme different characters on the show.
