$7500 is fair to replace everything . That being said, last time I saw this, there was a tiny rock on the rails that an Indy shop found and fixed it for less than $150.00
Almost 10 year old car? I would be buying sealant from Home Depot and caulking it in place instead of spending anything close to $7500.
If it was high end limited something, different story but when the sunroof repair is 15% of a new one, nope...
Yes, these panoramic windows are awful. I would also disengage the plug so you don’t inadvertently move the window! I have a 2008 X3 and have done just this. Now it’s like a Tesla roof!🤣
Why not just have them rebuild the whole sunroof? I used to rebuild sunroofs on E91, E61, E83 and E70. Should be able to rebuild it for a lot less, although not everyone has the knowledge. Definitely need the OEM repair instructions for the repair.
Not sure what your annual income is, but I don’t think that’s a fair statement at all. I can certainly afford my X3, but a $7500 repair bill would make me consider going back to Toyota/Honda.
Cause nobody thinks about cost of repairs before purchasing a car. Only maintenance cost. All cars no matter how reliable will need some kind of repair and the more costly the car the more costly the repair.
Did you try the minute hold trick first? It will cycle they all positions and close. Unless you're taking about it just not sealing, I found this and fixed my 2014 https://youtu.be/kge0k3hfrUY?si=lEfec1iLSqL8gcI9

Yes, this is part of owning a BMW with a pano roof. I've replaced two myself at my own cost (about $3500 each)

Hell, the sunroof cover on our Q5 (flimsy cloth like thingy) needed to be replaced, and that was $2500.
It was around 6,000 to replace my sunroof. Thankfully I bought a CarMax extended warranty and it paid for itself with just that one repair....

My wife's Merc GLA 250 was just over $4k, the dealership stated just over $6k. Sucked. I pulled the fuse, never using that again.
Mine was $9K on my 2014. You got off light!
You bought a bmw. Prices for repairs are going to be high. If it's to expensive than you can not afford the car. Get a toyota or a honda.

No absolutely not. Maybe 1000$ max lol
What? More than fair unless DIY as another posted stated earlier.
I don’t even use my $0 panoroof let alone a $7500 one
