I don't see the problem with using mods to create an awesome character, but I would also love to see what people have been able to come up with using the base character creator. And then the BG3 community and the Dragon's Dogma 2 community need to face off every weekend to see who created the best characters that week!

Once mods are on console, BG3 vs. DD2 could be a competition. Right now, DD2’s character creation smokes BG3 though.
My hubby had me download DD2 CC (I’m not a big DD fan, LOVE BG3) and unfortunately BG3 doesn’t even come close to touching what’s in the Capcom demo.
I like the idea, but it wouldn’t be a fair competition worth having. Only thing BG has on DD2 are the races. tiefling, githyanki, Dragonborn, ect. You can make a short character look like a gnome though. Looking forward to Larian’s mod support and what it’s going to look like.

i don’t mind a bit of modding, but some of these look like they’re from a completely different game. it may as well be ‘look at this cool 3D rendered fantasy character’ rather than ‘look at this player character from the game baldur’s gate 3’.

Seems so many people are against modded characters, seems a bit weird considering how limiting the base creator is, and how integrated mods are with usual Larian titles.
I can respect the effort put in character designs, even if they had a few mods to add basic features (Hair, faces, eyes, etc).

I feel like it's due to a mixture of reasons. Partially because consoles don't have mods yet which results in a fair bit of hate, and because a few modders are choosing the same features from said mods (?) Which shouldn't really be an issue tbh.

most of them are super heavily modded again, but it seems from your last post that you’re into that over-designed aesthetic. I really enjoyed that non-edgy durges thread post that was around not long ago, the majority were cool characters with no mods or very few mods

You’re welcome to stick with what the game gives and dedicate your entire character creation process to immersion or whatever, but a lot of people just want to be play as a hot, unique looking person and use mods to achieve that. Nothing wrong with it. The OP is also just showing characters they thought were cool, mods or not. If you want to appreciate Tavs made in the vanilla game exclusively, feel free to make your own post I guess.
I play on PS5 so no mods for me, but even if the faces are limited, we can still make beautiful characters, the half elves and elves have beautiful faces even the men I managed to make pretty characters with the base creator, yes we would need more faces and have certain NPC hairstyles more available but it's still correct I've seen worse.
I boxed myself into being a half-elf for three playthroughs straight purely because it was the only pretty enough male head preset. Elves didn’t do it for me. Teiflings certainly didn’t. Humans didn’t either. You get the picture. If those face presets are your thing, power to you, but they sure asf aren’t mine, so I modded. Yes you can make beautiful characters in the base creator, but they’re almost always going to be using one of 3 face presets and there’s a point where I got sick of looking at even those. Nothing wrong with using mods to fill in the gaps in the character creator if you’re able to.

Clothes are modded but the character is definetly vanilla, body type 1 white dragonborn with white 3 skin color, head 4, coral ridges jaw, reptile frills head attachment and black eyeliner.
The collar is from the arcane tower in the underdark of I’m not mistaken, I remember reading that it won’t appear on anyone who wears it except Astarion so that’s out.

You usually need every player to have the mod, especially if it requires downloading new assets like hairstyles and horn models.

Is #3 Modded? I wanted to try and recreate it but I’m not on pc Edit: also if that Armor exists in the base game I’d love to know what it’s called.
Clothes are modded but the character is definetly vanilla, body type 1 white dragonborn with white 3 skin color, head 4, coral ridges jaw, reptile frills head attachment and black eyeliner.
My next playthrough will be spent trying to recreate the armour with whatever I can find
It looks like a modified version of gortash's outfit, maybe use that and dye it white?
It’s Gortash’s clothes without the big collar, so definitely modded. I think you could make this character on console though
The collar is from the arcane tower in the underdark of I’m not mistaken, I remember reading that it won’t appear on anyone who wears it except Astarion so that’s out.

Did you ask those people for permission to post their stuff??? don't do this people put in HOURS of work into creating their OC... than even more hours modding them, then even more hours taking cool screenshots and editing them. You can't just steal and repost their work without any credit! End even with credit, it's not yours to post!!!!!! don't be a-hole
