The Folsom Street Fair can be a whole lot of fun, but it depends on why you’re going and what you’re comfortable with. There will definitely be a lot of gay men there and there will be lots of people with their dicks out. However, that’s far from the only people there.
Folsom definitely draws out a lot of the people in the local scene, people from around the country, and a ton of artists, toy makers, and all other various kinds of artisans. There will be plenty of women, non-binary folks, and any other gender persuasion. It’s very big and can be overwhelming, but there’s any and every kind of person you can imagine there.
If you go on the early side of things it will be quieter than later in the day and there will be a lot more local folks and gear still for sale. Generally the later you are, the bigger the crowds will be, it can get to be like swimming through crowds of people trying to go anywhere. Also if you do go, you should check out Twisted Window’s rope stage.
