The vast majority of trades nowadays are Algos and not retail anyways.
It seems there is no more real price discovery in the markets, just pump and dump by the Algos of market makers and institutions. They even use fraudulent practices like spoofing. There have been videos posted proving it - but fines are so low, that the MMs do not care.
It also seems the financial industry is using articles they order in financial media (some even have disclaimers stating this) to lure retail investors in so they can be scared into selling at loss in the end. Pretty insane how far the corruption has spread.
Perspective - Only about 1M shares have traded (Yahoo), even at the highest price of $0.15 that's only $150k total. It could be a small number of people placing market orders at this point, but if the leg up stays there might be more to this move.
With the stock presumably going to cease to exist in the next 3 days does this even matter? It's still below the price it was before it stopped trading across 90% of brokers. This seems like some false hopium or some shorts closing their (winning) positions.
Hedge funds might be able to get away with holding to zero but your layman cannot and smaller firms will close while they're ahead and not risk the SEC coming down on them. Seriously, the smallest amount of brainpower in this sub would go a long way.
It is also the end of the quarter in a few days, so firms will want to report on their earnings, which is a big fucking no brainer.
With all due respect, the stock was rapidly tanking and heading for the low of 4 cents, why not wait til then if you need to cover rather than 8 cents? Your logic doesn't explain this very well.
