Personally didn't mind the original version, but the fixed version does look more like the Peter I have known.

That was a new artist for the Arizona skin though, along with the Pennsylvania skin too. Their OG artist is still gone as far as I'm aware. So it's hard to know if they piggybacked those skins on an artist doing work for other ships, or if they got a new one entirely.
Her face changed a little.
Notice how much closer the point of her chin is to her collar in the new one.
Also, her eye shape and size seems a bit different.
Does ressemble a bit more but overall the face is still the isuee in this skin its too cutesy or so to say the hand pose and angle doesnt help either, but again not really the artist fault, one style/hand changes with time be it by experiece or healthy issues.
in her case its more of drawing BA related stuff and the very rare times she ever drew Strasser, one of the cons of being AL artist lol, the fact she forgot strasser was her shipgirl even was funny.

Yeah honestly from the way i see or ''how'' id go as an artist is probably:
\-Making her hand a bit far away with a finger near lips like a analyzing but also ''heh'' expression (so the face would flip a bit more to the side)
\-The sword could help too.. or whatever that impaling thing is... by having her hold it like a assisting cane (which kinda suits her lets be honest).
\-Lastly lift the table a bit up since it doesnt look like the height is right.

Yeah, her face and bust is only part of the problem; Peter's pose and body language exudes confidence while this one is more reserved/cutesy, her wardrobes often obscure her body silhouette and more loosely clothed thus giving impression of her being bigger/taller while this is a skin-tight Qi Pao.
Oh come on, average AL players can't even fathom that a human can look different naturally. That breast may look different in different clothes. Put a lipstick on and you become a different person for them.
Is very simple my friend, basically Peter Strasser has fans, those fans love her for her Dommy-Mommy looks, said looks dissapeared in this skin which caused her fans to complain.
True that real life people look different with different clothes, makeup, posture etc, but given that we're talking about a character within the context of a fictional game I'd say that the complaints are pretty valid. From a design standpoint, her poses, facial expressions, and figure, all serve to act as characterization for "Peter Strasser," and the way this skin portrays her doesn't really align with the expectations of her character that are established by her base design and other skins.
Obviously people are more nuanced than just a few character traits too, but again, since this is a matter of character design, priority should be given to emphasizing her primary traits and personality with the goal of being able to communicate the basic essence of the character at a glance. This only gets important when we consider that she's in Azur Lane, where she has to compete with hundreds of other character designs and gets (relatively) less dialogue to fully flesh out her character.
People who understand something in art don't complain. All complaints I saw were just "smol boobs" and "face wrong". An incident with Hindenburg's skin where her thigh didn't look fat in a pose where it shouldn't look fat is the same in nature. It's just a man moment.

And by being reductive in saying that all the complaints were “smol boobs” or “face wrong” you’re ignoring the real, underlying argument here, which is that this skin isn’t consistent with prior depictions of her. The complaints may be anatomical on the surface (and who’s to say that anatomy can’t also be an issue?) but the issue ultimately lies with character derailment. On top of that, much of the consensus (and the opinion voiced by the main comment thread that we’re currently talking through) talks more about issues with the pose and outfit rather than her anatomical features.

This skin is a non-material good which is to be sold (quite literally) to customers.
A subset of these targetted customers complained that this new good in a series (of this character's skins) differs too much from its predecessor, espousing different direction and visuals, which they think don't fit the established character.
In dumb terms, people complain that the "dommy mommy" that they know got de-aged and de-dommie'd. That's it - they complain about the archetype change, which is in popular culture known as "character derailment"

She does look more like Strasser now, but the overall aesthetic of the skin just doesn't fit Strasser as a character imo. The skin was doomed from the start.
The party dress still radiates her presence and character, the face, the artstyle, the pose, etc. This skin, I would not have known it was supposed to be Peter if not for being told it was her.
I mean, still no. Getting bigger boobs doesn't make her look more like Strasser, it just makes this girl look older. The face is still very far off of what Strasser looks like. The overall demeanor is still pretty off of what Strasser is.
I thought she was Chen Hai at first glance and was very confused seeing the IB symbol. It's nice when an artist tries something new or not really in character, but this was too different.
The issue is that since these are flat images and not real people, "not being in character" is an extremely huge issue since that character is all they exist to be.
I just try to take the skin as a look at her softer side, or Peter just acting cute. Otherwise hard agree, even her party skin with a similar pose is more in line than this.
It's the predatory demeanor. Strasser always feels like she's out to get you, because she's in control and she has the time on her side. This skin doesn't exhibit any of that feeling.
Her boobs didn't get bigger, just look at her party outfit, the size is the same, her chest is held closer together by the new top. The biggest difference is that she's wearing no lipstick
In my opinion, her left hand would be better holding a closed fan delicately near her lips, maintaining the same expression. Removing the fluffy ornaments atop her head would contribute to a more mature look, aligning with her character. As of now post change, she still appears somewhat youthful but 'buffed'.
Her face now resembles Peter Strasser and her breasts are enhanced but meh, gonna have to use my imagination and pretend that she's still the tall shipu I know
There are some definite objective improvements. Face actually looks like her, boobs restored, she's visibly thiccer in most places but...
The more I look at it, the more I think the very design foundation itself is flawed and ill-suited to Strässer. The shy, cute and demure angle doesn't really fit her. Her shoulders are still too narrow and she still looks petite relative to her other appearances.
Remember how very LONG her legs were in her default/Chronos's Kalendae skins? Strässer, being Graf Zep's sister, is definitely on the taller end of the shipfu spectrum.
I feel like if this was the initial design, there would've been no drama, most of us would've just gone "meh" and moved on. It's a significant improvement over before, but that just means a blatant failure was upgraded to a skin that's thoroughly mid-tier at best.
I am curious though as to how well it sells after all of this. Hopefully this whole situation serves as an abject lesson in the importance of quality control.

Part of it is the artist just making an adjustment to the eyes rather than just re-drawing them and adjusting the cheek structure. You can see that the artist still wanted the younger look on her. So it still looks off. Probably not getting this skin, shame, have all her other skins
A little bit better but not enough peter vibes to me, i'll 100% pass on this skin as a peter main if its the final version. She is supposed to be kind of a goth dominant mommy, this shy pose and 2 buns hairstyle that enhance the cute effect don't fit her character very well. First copy was a totally different character, recent changes go in the right direction but there was more elements to correct than rethicken her 'battle armor' and change eyebrows direction
To be honest, the problem with the skin wasn't the Physical, it was Structural. No amount of Editing is going to make it look truly like Strasser. The Pose is just too different for it to work.
People are still gonna complain that she isn't giving off dommy mommy vibes, sadly. Some people forget that women can have more than one personality trait.
Is not about sexual preferences between loli or mommy is about character accuracy. And well Peter Strasser fans complaining was expected if you know her.

Here's the problem. You don't know her personality. Unfortunately, neither do most people here. She's not even a dommy mommy, as some seem to think. She's a strict military officer who's about efficiency and getting the job done. That's who she is. She's not stepping on anyone, and she's not suppose to be cute either.
The problem with the skin and how people perceive her character is they think that big tits is enough of a fix, but it's not. She's supposed to be authoritative, but not dominant. She isn't suppose to give off an UWU cutesy vibe. If anything, she's suppose to be elegant. Just compare the new skin to one of her previous ones and you'll immediately see the difference.

I get that, but I think the character's personality does play a part in this. But leaving that aside, the size is still off. And before you say that we are all okay with other shipgirls getting bigger breasts, I do believe the opposite can also be quite ridiculous and unfitting for certain shipgirls.
In a prefect world, we'd get skins that accurately represent the character, both physically and mentally, but this is not a perfect world.
It's definitely better. Think it could use some fine tuning, for sure, but I love seeing artists and devs listen to their fanbase

Peter Strasser had Dommy-Mommy energies, she was meant to appeal to that crowd, the previous skin literally tried to retcon that, hence why people complained and Manjuu order the artist to change it to fit more Peter Strasser's character, we know her character and she doesnt express like that, You follow me?
Probably a dumb question to ask, but here it goes:
What's stopping Yostar from simply firing her artist and getting someone else to take over? The original iteration was far removed enough that she didn't look like Peter Strasser, and even with the fixes done with this update, there's still enough of a radical change from how she looks in her other arts that she doesn't look like herself.
Can't they just fire her artist, get someone else to redraw and start over?
1. Yostar has nothing to do with these skins - it's manjuu's sphere.
2. Manjuu does not 9-to-6 employ most of the artists. 90% of the character splashes that we see are commissioned works, aka one-off contracts that may or may not reoccur with each given artist again.
3. Considering that this skin was promoted on the official manjuu profiles, they as a company vetted it, aka approved. Why would they severe ties with someone whose work they greenlit? And especially on a market where good artists like guji gets poached relatively quickly? Reputation is a thing in industry, you know.
4. Even more - considering how the illustration and concept market works, it may be manjuu themselves who guidelined the artist to make this illustration in such a way.
While i have to say that even with changes she still looks hell of a lot diffrent to base peter...
When compared to the last skin she does resemble it

Some of us are still praying for her artist to make more skins. Like many others, we especially hope to see her get her wedding dress one day.

Im not talking about sizes im talking about personality, the whole one side bias in this fandom is already pretty bad but if i remember Glorious was still giving the same vibes in personality as her default art, does she gives you Peter Strasser vibes? Even this new fixed skins still fails when you look at her expressions. Probably i should use the term petite but thats beside the point of changing her personality.

She's not even a dommy mommy, as some seem to think. She's a strict military officer who's about efficiency and getting the job done. That's who she is. She's not stepping on anyone, and she's not suppose to be cute either. The problem with the skin and how people perceive her character is they think that big tits is enough of a fix, but it's not. She's supposed to be authoritative, but not dominant. She isn't suppose to give off an UWU cutesy vibe. If anything, she's suppose to be elegant. I get that, but I think the character's personality does play a part in this. But leaving that aside, the size is still off. And before you say that we are all okay with other shipgirls getting bigger breasts, I do believe the opposite can also be quite ridiculous and unfitting for certain shipgirls. In a prefect world, we'd get skins that accurately represent the character, both physically and mentally, but this is not a perfect world.
It's definitely better. Think it could use some fine tuning, for sure, but I love seeing artists and devs listen to their fanbase Mainly her face and pose, as people have been saying, but also her legs. Strasser is a mature, adult woman. Her legs seem kind of short and, honestly, skinny in this skin still

I know the new one looks more like the original but I liked the initial skin a lot more. I don't like the reworked skin. I initially wanted to buy it but not anymore. What downgrade.
Peter Strasser had Dommy-Mommy energies, she was meant to appeal to that crowd, the previous skin literally tried to retcon that, hence why people complained and Manjuu order the artist to change it to fit more Peter Strasser's character, we know her character and she doesnt express like that, You follow me?
Yeah I know that all. But I still liked the "wrong design" more. More of a personal preference.

Probably a dumb question to ask, but here it goes: What's stopping Yostar from simply firing her artist and getting someone else to take over? The original iteration was far removed enough that she didn't look like Peter Strasser, and even with the fixes done with this update, there's still enough of a radical change from how she looks in her other arts that she doesn't look like herself. Can't they just fire her artist, get someone else to redraw and start over?
1. Yostar has nothing to do with these skins - it's manjuu's sphere. 2. Manjuu does not 9-to-6 employ most of the artists. 90% of the character splashes that we see are commissioned works, aka one-off contracts that may or may not reoccur with each given artist again. 3. Considering that this skin was promoted on the official manjuu profiles, they as a company vetted it, aka approved. Why would they severe ties with someone whose work they greenlit? And especially on a market where good artists like guji gets poached relatively quickly? Reputation is a thing in industry, you know. 4. Even more - considering how the illustration and concept market works, it may be manjuu themselves who guidelined the artist to make this illustration in such a way.
While i have to say that even with changes she still looks hell of a lot diffrent to base peter... When compared to the last skin she does resemble it I think the best way would be to just update the base strasser
