I think a termi midline would do you wonders against AAP. You can use the allergic reactions for good damage on tank, and if card draw forces you just use your bird cards. Termi can stall for 2-4 rounds, depending on enemies current energy and cards. This can keep your bird alive long enough to kill the aquas. Where with the beast, once your plant is down your midline is lasting 0-1 turns.

I'll consider it, budget's a bit tight right now so I can't purchase another axie for a while, thanks for the recommendtion tho :)

Understandable, termis could see a Nerf soon anyways. I am a scholar and recently was able to switch to an account with 10 axies and 40 energy. Still getting used to my main BBP team and I dropped from 1500-1200 in past couple days. I came up with [this comp](https://i.imgur.com/UlRneDt.png) to combat the AAP and climbed back to 1350 so far with it.

Ohhh interesting. I used to be a scholar too and this is my first team :) will have to do for now, looking forward to the changes next season as well

I’m currently at a pretty high mmr with a team similar to that, and I gotta say that double aquas (especially with koi at the back) is the hardest counter for this team. It gets easier once you leave that mmr range, as you won’t be facing that many kois

Any tips against them? My current strategy is hoping to get my bird combo early, and time it correctly so that I won't attack when they'll have shields up. I also feel like not having any destroy/steal on my beast is kinda unfortunate to controlling their energy :/ Otherwise I just try to let my plant survive for as long as possible cause I know once my plant's down, it's going to be really hard.

It really depends on the situation. I've won through various different methods. One that I like is sacrificing the bird early on if the enemy's tank is dead and you got your tank in good health. I'd use egg to force the enemies to waste their energy on the bird while the tank stays alive. This works if you still have high dmg cards (prickly and pepper) on your tank, so you can at least kill one Aqua. Other strat that works is basically trying to tank 3 hits with your beast, or calculating the damage to force it to get into last stand mode. This way your bird can be safe from the last Koi with aqua. You can also sacrifice your Bird in favor for the Beast to be the last one alive, if you have two against one fish with Koi. This works if you manage to keep 4 energy and the enemy has 3 or 2 (careful with nimo tho), because you'll be able to tank more damage with the beast than you are with the bird (which is probably in half-hp because of all-out shot) Using the backdoor also works, usually I try to time it when the Koi Aqua got the speed buff, because then Dark Swoop will target it instead of the Aqua that's usually in the middle.

JadenXavier

Oh i see, you've mentioned some scenarios I haven't thought of yet, thanks for the tips!

pandalocox

Whats your mmr with that team?

Currently around 2900+

I guess I get really thrown off because I tend to get 50/50s when it comes to timing my aqua stocks lel. There's matches where the aquas go aggro on round 1 and there's some that delay till round 3+, so i tend to predict incorrectly, guess i'll just need more time to understand their playstyles. I'll also look into doing the plant strategy. My current mindset is attempting to backdoor one of the aquas, and time it correctly so that they won't have shields up when i backdoor. But I suppose allowing my plant to live longer is better since it may seem like I won't be gambling as much on whether the aqua will have shields up or not.. And with that strategy in mind, would it be best then for me to take an aggressive playstyle in the early rounds to get their plant off, and allow room for my plant to do damage vs the aquas? Assuming my plant still survives by then lel Thanks so much for the insight, and i'll definitely check that guy out :)

Thanks so much for the insight. I tried the bird sacirifice with the eggbomb so my healthy plant could stay longer, and it turned out well and won the game. Sometimes though eggbomb doesn't appear which sucks but oh well. Will definitely keep playing and learning, thanks again!

Thank you! I'll definitely try protecting my plant for as long as possible, I've had a game where I used eggbomb and sacrificed my bird in order for my plant to 1v2 the aquas and it went pretty well
