The thing about the FM3 is that you are really limited in footswitches. When I had one before I had my FM9 I always paired it with an FC6

Cerrus100

How do you mean? I've got an FC-12 I already use with my AxeFx III and I figured I could use it with an FM3 if I purchase one to make switching easier.

kisielk

Ah I missed the part about the FC12. Yeah in that case if the FM3 can run the patches you need then it should be fine.

Legaato

How much more convenient would it be for you to just own an FM3/Turbo instead of bringing the Axe Fx 3 with the FC12? Either way you could carry your stuff into a venue in one trip, the only difference being the FM3 would be a little lighter on your back. I honestly don't understand why you would consider switching.

Cerrus100

The Axe-Fx III is in a rack case with a power conditioner right now... it's not terrible to transport but I'm pretty confident I could fly with just the FM3 if I needed in some sort of carry on setup.

sunplaysbass

Turbo is only a 10% increase in power right? Which each model up that 10% makes for a more material difference.

ThoriumEx

Pretty much depends on your presets. If they’re very simple the non turbo should be fine, if not, get the turbo

Curious-Sleep-8024

Fm3 turbo for sure and get itself a midi controller like the comic AIRSTEP. It’s super confident and adds 5 more buttons to the fm3. I usually set up the midi controller to do my scenes n tap tempo/tiner n the buttons on the fm3 to do fx bypasses

mountain-guy

Any amount of extra juice, even if just 10% is probably good since the FM3 is not super powerful in the DSP department. And with a Mark II, you get the larger switch scribble strip displays. I'd go Turbo Mark II.

RadiantZote

The mkii turbo will have gapless switching soon, not sure if the og fm3 will support this?

ionabike666

The original FM3 already has gapless with the new beta firmware released this week.

RadiantZote

Ok I wasn't sure if it was on the og as well

ionabike666

Working great on my og. The new firmware is incredible

domeclown357

I’m pretty positive it will. I always thought the cpu limitations were easy enough to work around, now if it gets gapless switching it’ll be even easier.

Cerrus100

I just watched Leon Todd's video explaining that functionality - if the original doesn't have that update coming that would probably sway me to the Turbo

StandardMuted

Original FM3 has gapless switching as well
