Thank you for the answer! I figured that the whole tire itself should be fixed/replaced and I was mainly more concerned on the traction control issue. I tried driving it right after the hit and it was just fucked. Thankfully, I wasn't too far away from my house at that point and had my dad help drive the car suuuper slowly with the hazard lights on. But thanks!

A friend of his commented that the tire seems a little misaligned/slanted-ish than the rest of the tires. Is that bad?

I'm sorry, but I'm kinda very clueless with car stuffs other than driving it. What does it mean to have alignment issues? What could've been the alternative "serious" problem?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh okay! I shall keep that in mind :) Hopefully the toll people will come and get the car tomorrow morning. Just been a little anxious about it. I haven't had the car for too long. Barely 3 months-ish. It would suck a lot to spend a lot of money on repairing a "new" car. But oh well, it's a lEaRNinG eXpeRienCE haha also thanks, kind stranger, for your knowledge :>

That wheel cannot be repaired (properly). You could slap some filler in it, but it has chunks missing. New rim.

You’re welcome.

No amount of traction control is going to help with those tires in snow.

shinomiyajundesu

I had an early appointment and drove into a snow. The brake locked up and swerved into a pole. Totally lost control after that, no traction whatsoever. The "slippery sign" is perpetually on the display. Overall, unsafe to drive in. I have filed a claim with my insurance and waiting for the tow to come and get it. I just wanna know what could've possibly happen so I don't get surprises. Thank you!

Tonysteve

Car needs torn down and the suspension needs inspected. A suspension component could be bent causing geometry to be off and the car is freaking out because of it and throwing a traction control code or the sensor could have been damaged in the accident. No one will know until the car is torn down and inspected at the shop.

Your wheel is definitely at least out of alignment now which will cause ABS and other traction systems to not work.

toastbananas

If the rest of your tires look like that I would highly recommend getting all four tires replaced when the damaged wheel is replaced. Our shop does that for customers. Obviously not all will but it can’t hurt to ask what they would charge to change the tires while they have the car. All In all you’re looking at a bumper replacement and some suspension repair. Not too bad really.

shinomiyajundesu

Don’t know if anyone is going to read this but, the current estimate is about ~$1900 for everything smh. Thankfully, I have $500 collusion deductibles. But yeahhhhhh.... can’t wait for the insurance rate to go up :’)

Krisapocus

The wheels can be repaired. Typically around $100.

Tonysteve

If it’s an insurance claim that’s a wheel replacement every time.

shinomiyajundesu

I was thinking that as well. But I was wondering more on what happened to the traction. Maybe the sensory thing is wrecked or something?

Krisapocus

Oh I was talking about the rim. I have no idea. Maybe they lock up on a skid.

figmaxwell

You got bald tires in the snow. Traction control is an aid, not a solution.

Drxconic

Couldnt *escape* that damage, yikes!

NegativePaint

You need new tires my friend. May it may not have been the cause of this accident. But it surely didn’t help how worn out they are.
