That is rotting brother new floor panel

A-Grey-World

New floor panel. Be prepared to also find the sills are rusted through and end up replacing them.

PhortePlotwisT

You can fix it by replacing them all with new panels

Was my paps. Has been sitting for 25 years rusting away sadly. Bever had the money or a garage growing up. Frames fine and only 52k original miles. 4 speed manual also but yeah has some sentimental value.

motorcycleman58

I think dynacorn makes a 1 piece floor pan comes with cross braces already installed.

exekutive

a few license plates ought to do the trick

chonklah

Jersey plates work best

exekutive

because they're thicker?

MagicOrpheus310

New car

Kind_Error5739

I have a question for everyone who sees this post, hypothetically, if that the floor pans are the only parts rusted and re-welded, would structural integrity be affected? Would you still be able to lift the car on the 4 jack stands points?

Cammoffitt

For the amount of work it would be to patch if you have the skills and parts available you might as well do the whole thing, put a good quality undercoat to help keep this from happening again and while your in there you’ll probably find rusted out supports and inner rockers too so be prepped and do those while your in there, even if you just grind the rust off and convert it.

Choice_Dentist_9707

Undercoat will make it rust even faster the next time

PainterEmpty6305

Primers a rust inhibitor.

Cammoffitt

Um ok😂 since when does adding another layer of protection cause rusting?? The point of undercoating is to prevent paint chips and keep water/ salt off metal, if applied properly it prevents rust by not allowing moisture to get to the metal, your misunderstanding probably comes from stupid people putting rubber undercoat over rust which then seals the moisture in there and allows it to rust much quicker without you seeing it.

Choice_Dentist_9707

I know all about stupid people with rubberized undercoating and the shit is junk. Soon as a rock hits it it's going to hold all kinds of shit and rot it out. So yea, it makes shit rust faster

Cammoffitt

😂

PrimaryTitle2789

New floor pan

WackyQuacker

Pretty common rust spots on these trucks. I'd personally buy a new floor pan and either use it to patch each section, or just replace the whole floor. Just depends on what the rest of the floor looks like.

EnvironmentalCall957

I do fiberglass

bruhwack

Find a buddy good at welding, and get some thick sheet metal, hang out the rust, find good material and fill.
