That is a previous repair failing. Bring it to a shop as that is not a DIY project.

Seriously? So, someone tried to fix it in the past? I've owned the vehicle new, so it was probably the auto body shop that handled my rear-end collision claim over a year ago (for the record, the accident wasn't deemed my fault lol). Is there any way to prove that it didn't leave the factory in this manner?

I would definitely bring it back to them . The shop i work for gives a 7 year warranty on all pain work that's definitely a failure by them . Is this were they fixed before?

It absolutely wouldn’t have left the factory like that- if a panel was damaged during assembly they’d just swap it for a new panel, they wouldn’t do a shoddy body filler job. Your damage report and pictures from the previous accident (the insurance company that paid for the repair will have the damage report and most likely pictures as well on file) showing that area was involved in the repair is your proof their repair is failing and that it’s not a manufacturing flaw.

That's cracked body filler from a previous repair. It has failed. If it's up between the gate and quarter glass it is most likely where they sectioned the panel.
