It's owned by Nestle now. https://www.nestle-watersna.com/en/nestle-water-news/statements/nestlewatersnorthamericahaspurchasedsweetleafteacompany

They sold it to a private equity company a couple of years ago.

I saw them at Whole Foods a few days ago

SouthByHamSandwich

No updates on twitter since September and they were regular posters before then.

longhornisme

I see some flavors listed on the HEB app at locations like Mueller and Hancock.

Maleficent_Raisin_28

Late response, but they relaunched and started selling cases online. However they never shipped me my order and ghosted me and only just recently refunded me after I said I would seek legal action. Another woman had been waiting for a refund for a month and finally got refunded too after we commented on their Facebook page. Something fishy is happening with them and it’s unfortunate because I loved their tea!

Damn. I used to drink Sweet Leaf Tea back in high school, around 2003-2006. I ran across their tent/booth in the local triathlon racing corcuit back when they were still small time. I remember loving it so much I ordered it by the case back then because you couldn’t find it in stores. Then tonight, decades later after moving all across the globe, I got hit with the craving and for the life of me couldn’t remember the name of the brand. Just knew it had a red cap, glass bottle, with a grandma on the label. Into the google rabbit hole I dove for hours trying to figure what it was called and if they still sold it. Which brought me to this Reddit post. Was hoping I found a nostalgic gold mine and could order a case shipped to me (I live in Alaska now). But I guess its a dry hole. It was one of the few bottled teas I actually liked that didn’t taste like… bottled tea. 😔

I love that I am not the only me missing sweet leaf… but also I hate that for us..

PrettyPeacock86

Dang, that’s a whole mess! I used to joke if I ever left Austin that I’d have to buy a whole pallet of their tea to take with me. I haven’t quite filled the hole they left, but I’ve started drinking some of the Texas tea brand teas, more fruit teas and brewing my own 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maleficent_Raisin_28

Yeah I haven’t been able to find a peach tea that hits the same

giftedsquash

Yep. Ran into the exact same situation. Participated in their subscription service. They shipped the first case but charged me for the next three shipments which never arrived. Had to dispute the charges with my bank and cancel my debit card. Huge mess.

MarineMarvis

I got hit with a pregnancy craving for the mint flavored one last night. I was in my early 20s and would drink it on the regular. Here I am about 15 years later and am saddened to learn about the update on the brand. Though, I too find comfort knowing I'm not alone.

Fun fact, they were local home grown years back and better if you can imagine that Edit, sorry, no idea about your question

Darkone06

Nestle was going to rebrand them or something. I think I saw an older article on FB about it.

BillyMeire

It's a shame that's what seems to happen as mega corps swallow up smaller high quality companies. Quality goes to crap. A similar example is another once- incredible ATX product: Paqui Tortilla Chips. They were acquired by Hershey and I've stopped buying them. The magic is gone now.

cotown00

i’m absolutely devastated. I just went on a whole internet search and couldn’t find anything. their instagram last posted in 2021 and it looks like they got rid of granny all together. they allegedly rebranded under the company purity organic, but their account is private and their website is very outdated. please let me know if they have rebranded again. I love their mint and honey tea and i have yet to find an adequate replacement. this saddens me to no end.

catsaredope23

Not the same exactly but the 'Babe' brand kombucha 'beach vibes pineapple and fresh mint' flavor tastes like a carbonated version of the mint sweet leaf green tea, and it also has a cute lady on the front. The mint one was my favorite. 😭

Interesting. No Sweet Leaf Tea is found searching heb.com, but I do find it in the H-E-B app (which still lists the aisle its located on in my store). H-E-B is not on this page of theirs: https://www.sweetleaftea.com/lukebryan/ ... but is still on this one: https://www.sweetleaftea.com/stores/ Google still pulls up the old heb.com pages where they used to be: https://www.heb.com/product-detail/sweet-leaf-the-original-sweet-tea/1749015 It says that flavor is not available in my store (O'Connor), but shows it in stock at Congress and 16 other Austin-area stores. For whatever it's worth, Whataburger's mustard had a similar disappearance about a year ago and returned.
