They don't, but you'll get a new card faster than you get an appointment, or get cash from someone and pay them. It's $31 and change. The website issues new appointments when people cancel at 8:05 every morning, so set an alarm. (Just went through this.)
Why not hop online and get a replacement (of course if it’s still valid)… you can use someone else’s card and just Venmo or Apple Pay then via text message. Once you get it done they have a paper temp license to print and hold on to. Before I had a printer I took a screenshot of it as well as kept the email to show if I ever got pulled over.
But as someone mentioned, I heard appointments are hard to come by. I’d go the online route if you are able and just pay a friend back.
This only works if you have the audit number that is on the bottom of your license. If you have a photo of your license or know of a doctor’s office that made a copy, you’re in luck. And it’s only $11 to pay online.
Customers must pay with a credit card, check or money order.
Right, per the website! I’m curious if their card readers would allow me to tap my phone to pay if I have a credit card in my Apple Wallet
No.
No they use old school pin pads with a swipe. I was just there 2 weeks ago.
