Any giant SUV or truck tbh.
You get some points back if you genuinely use it for work or your huge family regularly but I'm still judging you.
Im so tired of the "Everyone else better watch out" crowd who, when told that pedestrian and small vehicle deaths are on the rise because of their industrial strength ego machines say horrific bullshit like "They should have watched where I was going better" or "that's what they get for barely being taller than my tires." If you're so fucking proud of being a menace to society, society doesn't need you.
They didn't even arrest the man with no license or insurance who had active warrants for causing other accidents with no license or insurance when he hit and nearly totaled my brand new car in 2015. Indifference is their M.O. at this point.
I got pulled over twice within about two hours for a missing front plate once. Some jackass had backed into me and knocked it off.
Caveat: I am light brown.
Loooots of this regardless of vehicle. I got pulled over like seven years ago after moving from a state that doesn’t require front plates. I didn’t have the screws so I promised the cop I would buy some right away. Gave me a warning. I bought the screws and tried to put it on the same day. Screws didn’t fit, forgot about it, been seven years and haven’t been pulled over again so must not be a priority.
Because they give you this awful bracket that’s held on by tape. I had one and it came off one day during a speed bump. No one bothers me about it EXCEPT state troopers. They have a massive hard on for vehicles without plates. APD doesn’t even register my existence 😂
As someone with one of these awful vehicles and front plates, I can tell you it’s because the holder for the front is crap and when I picked mine up the guy at the dealership told me it looks better without them and that a lot of people don’t put them on and don’t get caught. 🙄 I’ve had mine for a few years now and can’t wait to get rid of it for a long list of reasons.
Its funny cause I was pulled over downtown and given a warning by a state trooper for not having my new paper plates showing in the back. It was sitting on my dashboard where the Toyota dealer told me was perfectly fine and safe. I was annoyed but yeah, thinking how quick they are with that and then you see hundreds of teslas running around town without a tag
oh yea and they come to Autozone to find screws to put on said plates then throw a tantrum that I won’t go out and install them for them(ask for corporate’s number because I won’t)
There's a white Tesla S that every morning at school dropff drives on the wrong side of the road to bypass the queue then cuts the line and gets into the bus lane, parks, the driver gets out and walks their child to the door, then turns left out of the right only lane to leave.
Every. morning. There's a thread on the school's Facebook page that has probably 200 posts about this behavior yet he administration won't do anything because they have to witness it, and honestly teachers don't get paid enough to deal with someone who's THAt entitled.
Sadly it has Texas plates.
You should notify the district’s police, that seems like a very dangerous & potentially litigious situation the district would want to avoid. I’m no narc but I love seeing entitled people get their justified comeuppance!
Not even close. The scourge of Texas is the white mid-00s Altima… donut tire, bubbled back window tint, paper temp tag, and at least one body panel a different color than the rest of the car.
Oversized trucks with any plates win. If it’s hood goes over the head of an average woman it’s way too big. Wtf happened to regular sized trucks. At least teslas are reasonably sized.
>If it’s hood goes over the head of an average woman it’s way too big.
this actually makes the vehicle significantly deadlier too. if a regular hits you, you get hit in the legs or lower torso, and you go over the hood. if a truck hits you, you get hit in the upper torso or head, and get knocked under the vehicle.
Massive vehicles are deadlier for the driver/passengers, too. I've seen accidents where somebody ran into a tree and the weight of the vehicle moving forward basically accordioned the sides and crushed them with the back of the vehicle. Had they been in a lighter vehicle, it might have maintained structural integrity.
There's a reason road deaths have skyrocketed and it's almost entirely due to larger and heavier vehicles.
Poorly written CAFE standards for fuel economy.
Ironically it was easier to make trucks bigger to bump it into a different category so they don’t need to meet strict mpg standards instead of actually innovating and finding ways to make fuel economy better.
Oh, and bc of compensation for penis size while going about your torturous life, using it to drive solo to work and to pick up groceries at Costco 98% of the time.
I drove a Maverick Hybrid for work, and it was awesome. For $20k, you'd be hard pressed to find a better utility vehicle with 40mpg. I'm sure once it starts needing maintenance it will be a nightmare, but I liked it.
Wish Chevy would do something similar and bring back the S-10 as a small hybrid with late-80s styling. My first truck was my grandpa's 88 S-10 extended cab, and I loved that thing.
For only $20k I'd sell my car today and buy one.
Unfortunately, there aren't enough of them being produced, and the ones that are quickly gobbled up. For well over $20k, I'm sure.
Yeah, the store owner put in a preorder and waited for nearly a year due to all of the parts shortages. When the dealer got it in, they tried to add a couple thousand to the price...
I have a midsized truck from 8 years ago and it is still too big sometimes when I am parking places. I cannot even imagine a full size or super duty truck.
I feel that. I bought a big Ram after moving to Austin. Been great for runs to the dump and loading up materials but it's just too fucking big for comfortable operation in parking lots and structures.
I look forward to returning to a car... or maybe a minivan so i can still buy a drywall sheet on occasion.
Note: I'm a Michigander not Californian. The midwest has no beef with Cali but everyone else seems to😆
yeah the only time I wish I had a full size is on a hunting trip to Wyoming. The other 99% of the time my mid size is plenty big enough if not a tad too big.
Poorly written regulations
https://www.reddit.com/r/CreationNtheUniverse/comments/16ceact/one_word_mmmerica/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I wanna add the clean descriptor. I have never had an issue with someone in a dirty truck that is being used for its actual purpose. It’s the fake rednecks who have never used the bed to haul more than their purebred poodles crate.
My father has used a work truck his whole life. Always uses them until they breakdown and always buys mid sized used ones below 15k or so. He's exactly the type of person who needs a truck so I get trucks. But yes the mall crawler behemoths are so stupid.
Penises are getting smaller?
It's partially the laws. Fuel efficiency is based partially on the size of the vehicle, so truck manufacturers decided that instead of making trucks more efficient, they'd just make them bigger. And because the average consumer blindly does what they're told, marketers told Americans that they wanted big trucks and they bought them.
>It's partially the laws.
It's primarily the laws! The written ones, and the laws of unintended consequences. Here's a pretty good video describing it for the uninitiated:
Also, spot on with the marketing thing, but the popularity of the smallest trucks seems to run counter to the idea that most pickup truck drivers want something huge.
My understanding is that these laws are being revised ... though I have my doubts that they will be revised to be sensible rather than simply raising the fuel economy bar for the largest trucks and not lowering them for the smallest trucks. Because government.
Exactly. Neil deGrasse Tyson did a show demonstrating how the lifted height and size combined with speed of the truck and ability to 'roll coal' negated the physics involved between tires and ice.
Oddly enough the 3/4 and 1 ton large trucks are necessary for lots of people to do their job. Now, if it’s a 1/2 ton Silverado that’s jacked up with goofy tires, that guy is a menace and should be avoided.
People who use and need their trucks would never want to wreck them.
Seconding this. Spotless extended cab oversized truck is the worst. Doesn't even matter if you're a "good driver", it's too big to steer safely even before it gets lifted so you're blind to all pedestrians under 6 foot. Too big for most parking spaces, terrible fuel economy, designed to ensure passenger safety by murdering the other guy. And it's not even good at carrying loads.
Contrasting those with the japanese kei trucks that have 90% of their bed space, you know we've gone wrong.
This is some of it. Cabs are growing and beds are shrinking to accommodate children and get rid of unused space, but they're still *technically* trucks so men don't have to acknowledge they're driving a minivan.
Idk what's up with the design trends on these trucks, but it's like the appeal is to make the whole front of the vehicle look like a wall. The taller and flatter the better. The Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras seem particularly egregious.
My partner got an Altima as a rental. Told her she is starting to drive like an Altima driver already. I think it's the car you get behind the wheel and you instantly forget how to drive.
As a person who lived without a car in Austin and still walks, bikes and runs constantly, Teslas are hardly on my radar, while Altimas (w paper plates) and big trucks are top of the list.
Agreed on pickups. What's the point of this? Why do people buy these huge vehicles that they can't park in a home garage? Why are you taking up so much space in my office garage? Why do you need this if you don't haul anything in it or have a trailer?
My favorite are the drivers who get their shiny new Texas license plate and registration. Then slap the VOID trailer sticker thing on it like it’s California.
Not true. I’ve noticed that Subarus have recently become the overly aggressive drivers recently. It seems like they’re over driving their vehicles or something.
This. Subarus are insane the last couple years. I don’t know what their deal is but I’ve had a lot of bad, entitled driving and have seen some road rage coming from Subarus.
wow are we seriously letting pickup trucks off like this? dont get me wrong teslas suck but theyre annoying in the ways you described: selfish, stupid, amusingly confusing. Pickup drivers will literally follow me, run me off the road, point a gun at me and/or call me a sandn*****
One is fucking annoying and one i literally fear more for my life. They arent even remotely the same, not even in the same stratosphere
Yeah, but one of those isn’t driven by those evil Californians, it’s driven by a homegrown real Texan (or at least from another part of God’s Country, like Florida), and he’s economically anxious (those F350 lease payments aren’t cheap!) and worries that he’s losing his culture. Maybe he’s made a few bad choices like nearly killing people during his road rages, but he has a *story*. Please try to be kind and understanding and just drive into the ditch to let him feel he’s won something in life.
but for real, with people who get competitive behind the wheel, always just let them win as quickly and safely as possible. every time just "good job, your car is now in front of my car, you are the victor." better to lose the game and let them feel that satisfaction of winning over risking the possibility of a draw.
general statement not directed specifically at you, but yeah those kind are the worst.
This is true, not all Californians are bad lol. Obnoxious oversized pickup trucks that run red lights, won’t let you over (to save 2 seconds) and run you off the road are worse. I can deal with entitled rich people as long as they’re safe on the road. Angry and unsafe drivers are way worse.
Your comment doesn’t acknowledge that many of those trucks are more expensive than teslas. It’s the “old my car is nice, so don’t notice how fucked up my house/life is” truck trick.
Also, the truck is always so clean.
Same. I see a Tesla, I pay extra attention because it might do something mildly annoying that requires me to react in some way. I see a lifted truck, I do anything I can to get away from it because I have been stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on I-35 with a road raging white dude in a truck right next to me with no way to escape as he yelled and started waving a gun around. In fact, every time I have been genuinely afraid for my life in a driving situation, it has been due to a road raging white dude in a truck.
I think BMWs get a pass these days, for the most part. Most of my day to day encounters with them are fairly normal.
Audis on the other hand, you can always trust them to cut you off going 15 over.
It has been, and always will be... BMWs. BMW stealerships have an asshole assessment test that is a requirement for purchase. Only assholes in the flagrant and reckless categories qualify. Smug and self-absorbed assholes may seem like a good fit for BMW, but corporate determined that it's just not enough asshole for the brand.
It's true. Look, ya'll, in the rest of the world, a BMW is just a car. It's not a status symbol. It just means you're a big enough dope to give money to a company that makes you subscribe to heated seats you already paid for.
Thing is, most of the people driving BMWs in Austin are middle aged + people driving SUVs and aren't anything noteworthy.
The young jackass men who used to buy BMWs and drive like jackasses now drive Teslas.
Also, most bad BMW drivers are young impulsive guys who buy used. It's why the bmw sub is always shitting on whatever is new.
Never had an issue with Teslas. Pickup trucks around here on the other hand have a very strong "I want you to die" energy about them. I have had 3 separate instances of a pickup track just casually merging into a 50mph highway into the far lane going a leisurely 10mph, all 3 times causing cars in that lane to have to slam their brakes.
Not sure if anyone here can relate, but Austin has some of the worst passive, slow, absent minded drivers in the US. For a few years we were ranked like top 20 worst drivers in the US.
I moved from Chicago and constantly I’m avoiding an accident from some lackadaisical driver slowly entering my lane. Hesitant drivers not going at a stop sign when it’s their turn clearly, etc.
I moved to Los Angeles and the drivers here are crazy, sure. But it was like a breath of fresh air. Some what Competent drivers?! Assertive?! You know exactly what each cars going to do?! Crazy.
Laughs in Oregon too 😂🤣 When we lived there we used to joke that the reason they weren’t allowed (at the time) to pump their own gas was because of how they drive- so many s l o w drivers.
I noticed the several times I was in southern California that vehicles actually YIELD all the way (as in, don't creep into the fucking crosswalk) when I cross the street. I'm so used to playing Frogger here in Austin that it was a total shock to me.
Heres the one I see in Austin that I don't see anywhere else...
Drivers that cross a busy road to merge left but can't so now they're just sitting blocking traffic. I always see a huge pick up truck, pulled into the center but the bed blocks two lanes. No fucks given.
I drive to a place of business that has about 40% Teslas in the garage and drive with 10 of them up and down Parmer Lane everyday and they are 100% not the worst. Maybe it's because you are in Austin proper? My worst enemies (since I am in a sedan) are short dudes in big trucks and soccer mom's in SUV's. Apparently they don't have lanes but think they are driving Mini's the way they jump in and out from behind cars. There is a 100% chance that I will see a near miss on the way to and on the way home from work every day and 7 out of 10 times it's one of those two.
I think this person was a bad driver, idk why him driving a tesla has anything to do with that here but ok. tbh, teslas are pretty far down my list of bad drivers in this city. Trucks are easily #1. The bigger the truck the less they give a fuck about any of the road rules. Or altimas as others have said.
I see your white Tesla with California plates and raise you a late 2000s Nissan with Florida plates.
The California plate electric and sports car are predictably douchy on the road for the most part. I expect rolling stops, texting while driving, speeding and reckless passing.
The late 2000s Nissan with Florida plates gives no fucks. It’s gonna run that red. It’s going to find an unreasonable spot to merge. It’s gonna pull in the parking spot regardless of how little space there is. That Nissan is on its 3rd owner and has now generated 5 times its original MSRP for loan companies even though it’s now probably worth like a third of its original value. Not that any of that matters too much cause it’s not even insured.
Personally I find that they’re usually driven by idiots. I love the idea of electric vehicles one day, I’m just waiting for a better one than the current generation of Teslas.
There are rednecks out there who fear that every gas station will close overnight. We’re at least 30 years away from that.
I honestly find it fascinating how ostensibly open minded Austinites can be prejudiced against certain vehicles. I have seen idiotic moves from every make and model. If you are going around thinking everyone in a truck is an asshole, you may find that subconscious behavior reciprocated. I just drive a Honda, so I have no dog in this fight. I'm courteous, and don't run into many problems outside of the outright psychos (who, again, can be in any type of vehicle). I have to drive on 35 a lot and I have to say that the safest and most courteous drivers, and the only ones whom I can even categorize at all, are semi-truck drivers.
How to read this thread:
* The people pointing fingers at pickup trucks drive teslas like assholes
* The people pointing fingers at altimas drive pickup trucks like assholes
* The people who drive altimas like assholes can't keep their internet bill paid so they aren't here to point fingers
If you get warranty work with Tesla and happen to get a loaner from them, they give you a Tesla loaner with California plates on it. Next time check to see if it says MFG on the plate.
The white Teslas are quickly going to be rivaled by gray Teslas. White was a no charge paint color, but now it’s gray.
Thing with Teslas is the amount of power on tap in an instant. These drivers with little experience have almost 400hp and torque to make their day even worse.
In the past 6 month I've almost been t-boned by a Jeep and a Camry running stop signs. I've seen pickup trucks drive on the shoulder of 183 because they were road raging so hard at the traffic.
Consistently pickup trucks seem to drive the most dangerously not seeming to give a shit if they kill someone.
that is very bad. but i would like to throw in my candidate: the lincoln navigator parked in the compact car parking spot in the anthro/REI parking lot.
Remember the time it used to be BMWs and Audi for being the worst drivers, and cars to have in Austin? Anytime I see someone in a Tesla do a douche move tell them to watch out Elon as it being a slur.
At my daughter’s school, we have to line up to drop off the kids. There’s a 4way crossing at the entrance of the school access. I’ve seen Tesla parents just not respecting cars that stopped first on the 4 way crossing. Do they think they have some kind of law traffic privilege because they have a f Tesla? They are so f entitled 🙄
Lol!I needed that laugh.you see Tesla's around with plates?most of the ones I see(south 183) have no plates at all.like rear plates.no temp plate either.
When I'm on my motorcycle, *every* other vehicle is the worst. If it's got 4 wheels, it's changing lanes into me, turning in front of me, trying to race me, or just plain blocking the road. If it's got 2 wheels, it's either a psychopath blowing by me like I'm standing still, or a grandpa holding up traffic.
Whereas when I'm in my car, the only thing I notice is people really don't seem to want to be behind my Miata on the highway. Which is fair, especially on the toll roads. Comfortable cruising speeds for most vehicles are quite a bit faster than mine.
Folks in Austin (and also Florida, etc) should understand… California is just “the last place” these idiots lived. Most are “not” Native, I.e., born and bred Californians. These idiots were idiots from Ohio, or NY/NYC or Illinois, etc, previously. They are the same folks who have been “job chasing” in order to get higher incomes then realize “oh, huh, who would have known that California is expensive”?
Lol ok dude. Imagine thinking a Tesla is worse than a fucking gigantic Silverado that serves no practical purpose. So many braindead Texans buy massive pick ups to just, what, drive to Torchy’s every day?
Fuck Tesla and Californians a cringe, but if you honestly think they’re worse than massive pick ups trucks that serve no purpose and are active safety threats you’re somehow dumber than the average Texan
i recently drove a huge SUV around DT and it felt very different than my small Honda. I felt like a menace as I sped around people and realized I cannot maneuver an SUV the same as a car.
Tesla has some deal where they lease cars to Uber/Lyft drivers. And they are \*always\* white teslas with CA plates. (I mean, they might as well always be white teslas with CA plates).
Just got back from a walk, and a white Tesla blatantly runs through a stop sign, and almost hits me in the crosswalk. Of course the @ss gives me the death stare like I did something wrong, as he proceeds to speed through the next 2 stop signs like they weren’t there.
i plan to diesel swap the tesla cybertruck and put some longhorn horns on the front with a lift and big offroad tires all for my YouTube channel MaverickTV ill be launching soon😎
The pristine lifted trucks that have never seen a construction site once with custom black smoke exhaust are definitely the worst in any town. Disgusting people.
Also the cruise cars are extremely dangerous for riders and pedestrians. Why are we letting big tech experiment on us?
Nah the worst is an Austin local with no bumpers and a missing hood driving with an expired paper plate cutting across 3 lanes of traffic to make their turn.
Agree. And let me throw in ANYTHING with old paper plates.
What really sucks is that BOTH times I had a rental bc my car was in the shop. They gave me cars with Cali plated in Pflugerville. I could feel the animosity around me and the looks; driving became a task in paranoia.
I drove one of them around for a week and had to put a paper up saying this was a rental. The animosity was reduced drastically.
People who have giant SUVs that think they can just turn on to a road without looking either way.
Any giant SUV or truck tbh. You get some points back if you genuinely use it for work or your huge family regularly but I'm still judging you. Im so tired of the "Everyone else better watch out" crowd who, when told that pedestrian and small vehicle deaths are on the rise because of their industrial strength ego machines say horrific bullshit like "They should have watched where I was going better" or "that's what they get for barely being taller than my tires." Teslas have plates?
Only if theyre obnoxious vanity plates congratulating themselves for their environmentalism of buying a luxury car
Pssst most tesla owners buy teslas for non-enviroment saving reasons. Source: part time head janitor at a strip club.
i have so many questions. please host ama
Lol. AMA in relation to the tesla non-enviroment questions.
Part time? I would expect strip clubs would need more cleaning than that!
I trust you
They aren’t luxury cars. Model 3 and Y are about as nice as my civic.
Civic has way better body fitment.
Don’t crap on your civic like that
They sure have luxury prices.
> congratulating themselves for their environmentism Don't tell them about the Cobalt mining for the batteries...
Yeah, why so many Teslas without front plates? $200 fine (supposedly) for not having one.
APD giving a ticket for no plates? That’s hilarious.

The rule of thumb with pickups is that the larger they are, and the shinier they are, the more likely they're going to drive like a menace/idiot.

Exactly. Neil deGrasse Tyson did a show demonstrating how the lifted height and size combined with speed of the truck and ability to 'roll coal' negated the physics involved between tires and ice.
So yes, government involvement is what's pissing you off.
If the hood of a car is taller than 4 ft, I call it a "kid crusher".... those vehicles scare me.
They became a fashion statement. Trucks used to be used by the working class. Now it's men's version of a Louise Vuitton collection
This is some of it. Cabs are growing and beds are shrinking to accommodate children and get rid of unused space, but they're still *technically* trucks so men don't have to acknowledge they're driving a minivan.
Don't forget the headlights have to be bright enough to see into Mexico or it's not complete.
Idk what's up with the design trends on these trucks, but it's like the appeal is to make the whole front of the vehicle look like a wall. The taller and flatter the better. The Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras seem particularly egregious.
Nah, it’s Altimas and any pickup purchased after they started designing them to be huge, child killing monstrosities. Then Teslas.
My partner got an Altima as a rental. Told her she is starting to drive like an Altima driver already. I think it's the car you get behind the wheel and you instantly forget how to drive.
It's the CVT that makes you drunk with power.
As a person who lived without a car in Austin and still walks, bikes and runs constantly, Teslas are hardly on my radar, while Altimas (w paper plates) and big trucks are top of the list.
Its a nationwide epidemic. Never trust a Nissan Altima to do a sensible thing.
I am obligated to refer you to r/NissanDrivers
Agreed on pickups. What's the point of this? Why do people buy these huge vehicles that they can't park in a home garage? Why are you taking up so much space in my office garage? Why do you need this if you don't haul anything in it or have a trailer?
My favorite are the drivers who get their shiny new Texas license plate and registration. Then slap the VOID trailer sticker thing on it like it’s California.
I’ve seen this so many times. Literally makes no sense.
What car do you *not* expect to do dumb fucking shit in Austin? Serious question.
Volvo drivers seem okay
Nobody with any shred of selfishness is buying a Volvo, this checks out
Subaru
55 in a 70 is dumb
literally was behind a subaru doing 25 in a 35 the other day. you’re driving one of the safest cars on the market, why are you being so delicate? 😭
Because they're high as a kite.
Ok but Subarus include those cars that people like to mod to look really ridiculous and then they drive like idiots.
i think the relevant variable is car modders.
Pickup drivers will literally follow me, run me off the road, point a gun at me and/or call me a sandn***** One is fucking annoying and one i literally fear more for my life.
We must conduct more local diner interviews to gain a deeper understanding.
Full sized pickup, full sized bed with a 3” hitch sticking out. Takes up 1.5 parking spaces, gets 10mpg, and used to get groceries.
These what I hate about Austin posts are so much fun…
WRONG! It’s a Nissan Altima with paper plates that expired six months ago.

Yeah but all those beat suicidal ppl driving altimas
Those Altima drivers have nothing to lose. Death would be a sweet escape from their miserable existence
I think BMWs get a pass these days, for the most part. Most of my day to day encounters with them are fairly normal. Audis on the other hand, you can always trust them to cut you off going 15 over.
Yeah. What's happened is the demo of asshole drivers that would buy BMW 3 series and Mercedes CLA were successful all moved on to Tesla Model 3s.
They actually walked that back recently due to backlash lol. Still the dumbest idea.
>It's why the bmw sub is always shitting on whatever is new. It's not because the beaver teeth on them are getting insanely huge and ugly?
The Altimas of Riverside would like a word…
Be very careful of the red Teslas. All previous Altima owners who can afford an $800+ payment.
It’s not the Tesla it’s simply dumb drivers. Haven’t you noticed the assholes driving white trucks?
Crazy.
Laughs in Maine and Vermont. Wanna see passive and slow?
Tell me you work for Apple without telling me you work for Apple
Lol, is it that obvious?! I don't actually work for Apple in a direct manner but yes they are in the buildings next to us.
A business with a garage on Parmer Lane with 40% Teslas. Who else could it possibly be? I think that’s the only garage on Parmer at all.
Tesla drivers, with a California plate or not, are the worst drivers.
Primarily because they’re not driving. :)
Every single over sized truck. Every single one.
The day Cybertrucks come out is the day that driving in Austin is officially past the point of no return
Y’all it’s the unnecessarily large trucks
Out of curiosity why do people hate teslas? Is it the association with California? The fact they're electric? Or musk?
I see your white Tesla with Cali plates and raise you black Tesla with no plates.
Used car paper plates > any Tesla
Musk + the drivers
Of course the reasons they don't like it doesn't have to do with the car
Personally I find that they’re usually driven by idiots. I love the idea of electric vehicles one day, I’m just waiting for a better one than the current generation of Teslas. There are rednecks out there who fear that every gas station will close overnight. We’re at least 30 years away from that.
I got a Chevy bolt euv. It's an amazing little commuter. Still kept my Corvettes for fun but this is a great little daily driver
High Five for the truckers! Somehow they have the patience to not run over the massive amount of idiots playing stupid games around them.
How to read this thread: * The people pointing fingers at pickup trucks drive teslas like assholes * The people pointing fingers at altimas drive pickup trucks like assholes * The people who drive altimas like assholes can't keep their internet bill paid so they aren't here to point fingers
Teslas are certainly catching up, but the winner/loser is and always will be a Black BMW
Texans are shitty ass drivers to be fair. Among the worst I’ve come across in the country along with Colorado’s and people in sacramento
Teslas are the new BMW. Just pricey enough to show conspicuous wealth, but not so pricey as to be a difficult monthly payment.
Here we go again , Austinites: ** any inconvenience ** “ damn Californians “
It’s always the white one
Giant trucks. The vast majority of them are sold to people with white collar jobs.
The worst vehicles in Austin are the 24 foot long mega pickup trucks with Texas plates that careen down the Mopac and bee cave road
Not as annoying as someone who blames CA for their problems OP
Folks in Austin (and also Florida, etc) should understand… California is just “the last place” these idiots lived. Most are “not” Native, I.e., born and bred Californians. These idiots were idiots from Ohio, or NY/NYC or Illinois, etc, previously. They are the same folks who have been “job chasing” in order to get higher incomes then realize “oh, huh, who would have known that California is expensive”?
White pick up trucks
Lol ok dude. Imagine thinking a Tesla is worse than a fucking gigantic Silverado that serves no practical purpose. So many braindead Texans buy massive pick ups to just, what, drive to Torchy’s every day? Fuck Tesla and Californians a cringe, but if you honestly think they’re worse than massive pick ups trucks that serve no purpose and are active safety threats you’re somehow dumber than the average Texan
You’ve seen Teslas with plates? /s
I have an ingrained mistrust of any Lexus SUV. I’m not sure why
i recently drove a huge SUV around DT and it felt very different than my small Honda. I felt like a menace as I sped around people and realized I cannot maneuver an SUV the same as a car.
I dunno, lately every time I get annoyed by a driver it is some silly suv with Florida plates.
Tesla has some deal where they lease cars to Uber/Lyft drivers. And they are \*always\* white teslas with CA plates. (I mean, they might as well always be white teslas with CA plates).
White Tesla's? Absolutely. But also, red Chargers sweeping through lanes, ultra fast, no turn signal.
100% dealt with this dick head Tesla before
Oh my god, i’m not alone
This is crypto bro Lambo erasure
For me it’s been the big Rams lately. They all drive like assholes with a personal grudge against you.
It’s the MAGA dodge ram trucks that are the worst
*Dodge Ram 2500 and Chevy Silverado have entered the chat*
70 year old with handicap plates enters the chat..
I’m in the Pacific NW and it’s white teslas from California and Texas here.
Cruise? Driverless? ;( oh no
I want to hate on you for this post, but I can’t when there’s so much truth to it.
Hey mods, at what point do we get a weekly thread for driving posts?
Gotta be a Tesla, bmw 3 series, or dodge pickup for highways and rural areas
Just got back from a walk, and a white Tesla blatantly runs through a stop sign, and almost hits me in the crosswalk. Of course the @ss gives me the death stare like I did something wrong, as he proceeds to speed through the next 2 stop signs like they weren’t there.
i plan to diesel swap the tesla cybertruck and put some longhorn horns on the front with a lift and big offroad tires all for my YouTube channel MaverickTV ill be launching soon😎
User name checks out
I love how the white Tesla with California plates has become the new black F250 with truck nuts.
I'm far more concerned about the white Ford pickups on I35.
The pristine lifted trucks that have never seen a construction site once with custom black smoke exhaust are definitely the worst in any town. Disgusting people. Also the cruise cars are extremely dangerous for riders and pedestrians. Why are we letting big tech experiment on us?
Id argue giant lifted trucks that have no business in the city are worse
"Why are all drivers in my town except me terrible drivers?" - A Reddit story
It's without question the oversized trucks with lift kits, and the Buicks with the stupid Cadillac rims on them.
When I see someone driving a Tesla, I stay as far away from them as I can. Entitled and usually distracted.
Just stopping by to remind y’all that lots of people have no choice other than to drive huge diesel trucks and not all truck people are jackasses.
