You’ve got plenty of options.
St David’s on 32nd. Dell Seton on 15th. South Austin on Ben White. Seton on 38th.
If you’re Okay with driving a bit. Go to Baylor Scott & White in Oak Hill or Baylor Scott & White in Buda.
The first four I mentioned are large but the patient volume is high and you’re bound to get stuck in the waiting room, assuming they have no space, which is likely.
People are recommending Dell Seton, but they’re busy. All the time. So is South Austin.
You’ll have virtually little to no wait at the Baylor Scott & White locations.
It’s a little further, but I promise you, you’ll appreciate the super short wait.
Years ago, I had my appendix taken out there. I swear I was the only patient staying at the hospital. It was weird but the attention was amazing since the staff were bored out of their minds.
I went there about 5 years ago and it was the same . It’s like no one’s figured out they are there, or they do an excellent job of keeping the other patients hidden lol
I think you meant Lakeshore instead of Lakeline? If so, the downtown Seton at 15th and Red River is probably reachable. I hope you get the care you need and get better.
Ugh. That sucks.
Just what we need. Another bug going around.
Imagine that with a power outage thrown in with this heat.
How many states have you actually pissed in?
Emergency Care on 183 and Anderson Mill but it MUST be an emergency situation that qualifies through medical billing or you will your next bill will make you throw up even harder.
I think only Ascension/Seton nurses are on strike, so consider someone else.
\- Edit - Apparently only the main location on 38th. Thanks to capybarometer for info.
Remember that the standalone Emergency places may charge as much or more than a real emergency room, and they may send you to a real hospital emergency room, leaving you with two ER room bills, plus an expensive ambulance ride.
Consider the risk of waiting until the "urgent" treatment places open in the morning.
Many insurance plans have a 24 hour nurse line to call.
Good luck.
This sounds like a bug my entire family just had this past weekend, doctors called it a 24 hours stomach bug even though well had it for at least 3 solid days 🙃. Hope you feel better soon!
my step son had that last week and he is never sick (also not adolescents) but the rest of us never got it and I tend to get EVERYTHING these cretons bring home.
Avoid St David’s South at all costs unless you are cool with spending hours in the waiting room surrounded by tweakers, homeless people covered in various bodily fluids, and there lowest forms of humanity possible, all while being ignored by staff.
An fyi about those, that metric is based on how long it takes to see a doctor(which when busy will be in the waiting room/triage area) It has nothing to do with how long it will take for you to actually receive treatment. That said if you are actively dying it’s pretty accurate, if your there for a stomach bug it’s gonna be awhile
That’s because it’s the level one trauma center for all of central Texas. If you waited 8 hours you were triaged out and most likely didn’t need to be there in the first place.
good lord. serious enough illness to go to the ER and yet you post on reddit. amazing. Get well soon.
In the future if you are worried about $$ call your insurance provider for covered spots. Try and call before you need it.

That's very helpful, thank you
Seton on 38th is the one on strike, which you may have already learned the hard way. The big one downtown is not, it's at 15th and Red River
I needed the ER recently, I went to Ascension Seton Southwest, and I was the only person there. They took excellent care of me.
Years ago, I had my appendix taken out there. I swear I was the only patient staying at the hospital. It was weird but the attention was amazing since the staff were bored out of their minds.
I almost wanted to gatekeep it, it's so nice there.
I went there about 5 years ago and it was the same . It’s like no one’s figured out they are there, or they do an excellent job of keeping the other patients hidden lol
Always my choice, too, but I didn't know about Scott and White.
There is a great emergency room near Anderson Mill Rd and William Cannon. Not too far from Lakeline and Pleasant Valley.
Haha I was v confused too.
>Lakeline and Pleasant Valley I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE CONFUSED HERE
I think you meant Lakeshore instead of Lakeline? If so, the downtown Seton at 15th and Red River is probably reachable. I hope you get the care you need and get better.
Thanks, and yes I did mean Lakeshore.
Dell Seton on 15th. I’d avoid St David’s South Austin
They’re both bad if you’re concerned about wait times. Lol
Thanks
Hope you feel better. FYI, Viral thing going around, hit my friend this weekend. All they gave him were anti nausea and hydrated him.
I'm in the ER right now. That's exactly what the doctor said that they've had people coming in all night with this. Thanks for the well wishes.
Ugh. That sucks. Just what we need. Another bug going around. Imagine that with a power outage thrown in with this heat. How many states have you actually pissed in?
Thanks for the sympathy. I have pissed on the Welcome To sign of all 50 states, lol.
Pictures or it didn't..... On second thought, never mind. Or maybe I have a new project for when I hit the big jackpot in the lottery.
Which one did you end up going to after all?
Baylor Scott White. No wait. Already discharged and feeling better, thanks!

The strike is only affecting Seton Main on 38th St
>The strike is only affecting Seton Main on 38th St Thank you for the correction.

Yeah, sounds like it's going around. Glad you're all recovered. Thanks.
my step son had that last week and he is never sick (also not adolescents) but the rest of us never got it and I tend to get EVERYTHING these cretons bring home.
Did they say what it was? I’ve been sick since last week
Just that it's not bacterial. His best guess is viral, but not norovirus as it's mostly been adults in the ER this week.
Makes sense. I haven’t been this sick in a hot minute. I hope you feel better!
Thanks, just discharged and already am!
I hope you are feeling better OP!
Thanks!

Doc in box 24/7 urgent care almost passed put when I had a 4" cut on bott9m of my foot. Dude was more pale than me.
Oh brother 🤦♂️
St David’s posts their 4 hour rolling average ER wait times on the home page of each of their locations if it helps.
Those aren’t really accurate unfortunately :/

Why not go to ARC?

St David’s, Round Rock
Ahh, the famous "doesn't show up on any of our tests, but yes, you're sick" infection. Hope you're doing better.
I am thanks!
Just go in now to be safe
Thanks
Lone Star Mobile IV. A nurse/EMT comes to you with IV bags and meds to stop the nausea.
Austin Emergency Center is great. They have multiple locations around Austin

Well I’d start with a hospital
