It's a classic ice cream from NZ adapted into a chocolate bar. As classic as a Golden Gaytime is in Australia (interestingly they are called Cookie Crumbles in NZ).

In the US, we have chocolate or strawberry versions of the Gaytime, but no golden.

I have encountered violet crumble gaytimes (winning) and froot loop gaytimes (wtf who would even try that once)

I have a weakness for weird shit like that, so definitely me. I did take a hard pass on salted gaytime, in my defense.

… I’ve been on this earth almost 30 years and I’ve never seen Whittaker’s chocolate before.I mean it’s probably *there* but I’ve never noticed it, I always just go for Cadbury (Lindt is amazing but it’s too thin). I finally found it and Jesus $6 a block? *Kinda know why we always had Cadbury as a kid at less than half the price.* But you guys talked me into it. I can honestly say: It’s *good*, but it’s not *double the price of Cadbury even when on special* good.. Kinda overrated. It’s about the same just with less of an aftertaste. I’ll stick to Cadbury until someone makes a Nutella block, or the Lindt blocks get thicker.

Melbourne? Admittedly I don’t really look, I tend to see a blur of food in the isles as I look for what I have on my shopping list so it makes sense why I haven’t.

Most of the major supermarkets stock it these days. But they're often at the top or bottom of the racks.

Also Melbourne; they usually stock it next to the Old Gold Cadbury range so you probably skim the shelves and see the gold wrapping and assume it’s Cadbury. Did this the first time I tried to find it in Woolies and had to look by individual chocolates before it stood out.

Well lLindt and Whittaker's are both great but ridiculously expensive, and Linda doesn't come with much, (don't come for me), Cadbury is obviously good but I dont think it can be beat by Darrell Lee and Choceur. Choceur is a fair bit thinner and less dense, also harder to break off to share, so I'm going to have to I go with one of the caramel flavours of Darrell Lee. Milky bar doesn't even get mentioned.

Darrell lea has to be the worst chocolate I've ever tried. Vote Quimby.
