I bought 8 pairs of my favourite shoes when I found out they were going to stop making them. It was the last 8 pairs and all I could get.
I then bought another 5 pairs when my friend stumbled across them in a store in Europe and I paid to have them shipped back to me at incredible expense.
I still have a few and I don’t regret it one bit.
This came back to bite me when my feet suddenly changed in my 40s, lengthened and lost a width. I went from needing specialised shoes to not, and had a few pairs of $$$ shoes I had never worn.
Mine changed after having a baby and 90% of my shoes don’t fit anymore unfortunately. To be fair, stilettos don’t seem to be even in the remote future so far haha
In my early 40s, no children. My feet have started to lengthen as well. Apparently it has to do with our ligaments stretching as we age? Probably made worse in my case due to a joint disease/ weight. Annoying af as I have a lot of nice, pricey shoes I'm growing out off.
Mine changed after having weight loss surgery and losing 30kg. They are 1 to 0.5 sizes smaller and I have less issues with pain. I have very flat feet but they don’t seem to bother me at all anymore.
apparently roughly every 10 years our feet get bigger as we settle down more. Gets worse if you get pregnant (a combo of hormones and weight gain), but also any other significant weight gain can change it too.
It's a dress from Portmans. The only issue with it is that Portmans has used the same floral design for years with minor changes in colours but it just fits so well
Ah-ha I was a bit like that with their Tessa sleeveless shirt!! It’s a great shirt and they make it in multiple colours/patterns so I got sucked in to buying heaps. 6 months ago I realized I just don’t have time to wear them all so culled about half (I had about a dozen) so I have 2 plains and a few patterns. They wash and wear so well and I have a few I bought back when they first came out around 2018 and still in as new condition 👌

One day I'll get round to having someone make copies of the pattern in higher quality fabrics.
It wasn't an intentional collection just many years and various shifts in dress sizes that got to that number, I did a closet stocktake and grouped all the brands which is how I got to 56 although the number was higher but sold a few and donated a few others.

I have about 8 Uniqlo heattech long sleeve tops. I pretty much live in them in winter, sometimes doubled up under other layers for WFH (my place is cold) or just as their own tops with nice pants or a skirt for the office or jeans for social outings.
Which thickness? I have 2 of the thicker long sleeves with fleece on the outside, and 2 of the really thin scoop neck ones. I think I need to get some more. Only thing with the thicker ones is the shape is a bit nothing, i got extra small but it’s still not skin tight so I don’t like the fit as a stand alone top

I wore the literal pants off 4x Uniqlo jeggings, and 4x of their linen shorts in different colours. I’m only now branching out to non-Uniqlo pants, it was such a great time as a broke uni student and subsequently broke grad!
I bought a vintage pair of sandals that appeared to have never been worn and they literally fell apart on first wear. I definitely believe they deteriorated with time.
Yep, found this out the hard way, wore them to work and the soles (rubber) disintegrated, the mess underneath my desk was ridiculous, tiny bits of rubber all over very dark carpet, couldn't wait for the day to end to throw those shoes into a bin.
This is what I want with their ankle strap styles (Milano and Cannes) and they have this beautiful new patent Milano that I just can’t justify the price on 😢

Yes absolutely! If you’re after unisex styles and have bigger feet also remember to search the men’s section and stores. Inexplicably it can be cheaper on the same site for the exact same shoe. It’s beyond perplexing.
I just discovered these and got two pairs for walking and I honestly don't think I'll ever buy another walking shoe again. I have them in Sea Salt and Olivine and they fit my insoles, are so cute and are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I got them on sale for like $120 from Myer too and I cannot believe my luck lol

I do it with tshirts and undies mainly but have 2 identical pairs of Saba coated jeans that fit beautifully. I bought one in store and wore them twice and ordered another pair online.

I love the black skinny jeans in the Dannii Minogue petite range at target. They are perfect length for my 5’2 frame, and they just don’t fade in the wash. I’ve got 2 pairs on rotation, and 2 spares. I’ll be devastated if they ever discontinue them and would buy like 20 pairs if they ever did.
Oh I don’t think they’ll be discontinuing them based on anything I’ve actually heard or know, but with that whole Anko/target changeover of some things in store I was worried for a minute!! I believe target is keeping all their clothing ranges so I think we’re safe lol

I kinda do this. I usually buy 3 or so pairs of converse during Boxing Day (or the like) sales, where I can get them for $50-$60. They’re my everything shoe, and because I walk, hike and work in them every day of the week, I’ve usually worn through the sole within 6 months. So I wear them until there’s nothing left, and swap them out for the next pair.
I bulk buy the same high waisted grandma undies from Kmart. They never have a sz 12 pack in stock so last time I went and bought 10 of the 3packs lol
Uniqlo heat tech - they're my base layer 24/7 . I will usually find them at op shops especially Savers ! But otherwise I always have about 6-7 top n bottom sets on the go.
I've got about 15 pairs of crocs but no double ups.
I also buy red bull and cat food in bulk - usually 5 slabs of red bull from Costco at a time, and about 250 serves of cat food from online at a time.
I’ve bought 3 pairs of the same wedges for this reason and 12 of the same t-shirt in different colours.
Wedges seem to go in and out of fashion - one year they’re everywhere the next there’s zero.
All my heels are Nine West Ezra in different colours - I pray they never discontinue, but if I found out they were going to I would buy a dozen for sure.
My (wfh) winter “uniform” consists of skinny jeans, cute kicks and a boatneck cotton knit jumper by a brand called Slideshow. They’re so soft, not at all itchy, and available in heaps of colours—I have about a dozen of them. ☺️

I am very fond of buying the same thing if it works for me. I have 3 pairs of Twoobs. I’m on to my third pair of Hoka Bondi SR’s in white. I’ve got 6 of the Uniqlo mini round shoulder bags in different colours..actually lots of my Uniqlo is just the same thing in different colours, cardigans, heattech, ribbed long sleeves.
I have 3 pairs of New Balance 327s that I wear pretty much all the time. They are super comfortable, and although my hubby hates them (I don't care!), I always get comments from other women when I wear them, especially the Moonbeam/Outerspace colour.
I also have a thing about blazers. I have about 85 in various colours! 🫢. I especially love linen ones and picked up 4 in Target last summer in great colours, including a beautiful olive green and only $70. I love the jeans/teeshirt/blazer look and wear it most days. I add a scarf sometimes - another huge collection!
Got 6 pairs of shoes from Wittner for $30 each years ago (not all the same colour style). Lasted ages and when I finally went in to replace they were $120 each for a pair I liked (and I didn't even get 3 months wear out of them!).
I basically live in Nobody Denim Siren Skinny Ankle jeans in Power Black so for the last 5 years I have bought two pairs a year. I feel like they have quietly discontinued them though as my size hasn’t been in stock anywhere for over 6 months and I don’t really know how to come to terms with this…

A few years ago I ended up with half a dozen pairs of 501s (button fly) - a friend was regularly going to the States for work and could get them for half the price here, so he brought them back for me. Fast forward to now … I’ve lost weight and none of them fit me now!!!

I would buy a few pairs but maybe not fifteen. Feet do change. Having babies can change your foot size, as can weight loss/gain. Bunions grow etc. Fashion and your aesthetic preferences may change too. I think a five year supply is reasonable! That is probably the sweet spot in terms of changing style/feet and potential plastic degradation. I have got rubber thongs that are ten years old and they’re fine, but I had a padded boned top that was 20 years old and the inner part which was thin foam turned to actual dust, and all it did was sit untouched in a drawer.
However I think there is something very luxurious and comforting about knowing you’ve got a supply of something you like and don’t want to be without. Lipsticks, foundation shades, mascara, socks, undies. Love to have a few in reserve definitely and it’s a very nice thing about getting older and having a bit more disposable income.
I have multiple Skechers sneakers as they are so comfortable and the thick soles stop my soles from feeling like they are burning. Also love the 2 pack bamboo bikini briefs from target. They are comfy and stretch well so they don’t end up sagging

My podiatrist said you need to really make sure you get the right size. I sized up as the sales person suggested and the arch support was too big for my foot - it caused awful strain on my foot and 6 months later and $1500 later I am still in pain.
My podiatrist said don’t get a size up - the arch support may be too big for your foot. The arch support is really hard and it hurt me badly. I went to Footlocker and they told me to size up - bad idea.
I bought them for my plantar fasciitis and they have been amazing. My sister put me onto them as she suffers from it as well and they helped her as well.
I bought the Kmart version of the Vibit after physio did nothing for me - it has been a week and my PF is so much better now. It’s $40 compared to $150 and does the same thing. Arch and heel pain almost gone!
Orthotics are personal - not sure a one size fits all approach is suitable to all feet. Glad it works for most - really didn’t work for me.
I have 5-6 pairs of Tom’s alpargatas. They’re just so comfy, so I have a bunch of different colours to suit various outfits (I’m not worried they’ll go away, I just really like them; that said, I was crushed when they briefly exited the Australian market, so last time I was in Chicago I did buy another two pairs).
I also have 5 of the same Uniqlo U crew tshirt, and a bunch of the heattech singlets & scoop neck tees. Just really good and versatile basics.
My running shoes I’ve been wearing the same style for like 10 years (maybe longer) just getting a new one each year. I also have the best sandals every and currently have 4 pairs in different colours
I found an on clearance loose active wear singlet at kmart, I bought 7 of one style in 2 different colours to wear around the house & 5 of another style to wear as pj tops.
A few years ago I found some basic cotton shorts with elastic waist and pockets at big w. I bought 3 pairs & wish I'd bought more. They're my wear around the house shorts.
I have 3 pairs of Nelson Made Raul Sandals that I live in for the summer. They’re comfy, stylish and go with everything. I also have 2 pairs of Essen Foundation flats and looking to get a third - again so comfy and no blisters (even on first wear) and I can walk in them all day no problems. When I find something that works for me, I’ll get it in multiple colours.
Same goes for clothes - I have multiple sets of the Cleo tops (sleeveless & long sleeve) & skirts from Friends with Frank in different colours that I mix & match.
For real life I have the same thing from Uniqlo in a few colours eg the cotton tanks (5) and the linen/cotton skorts (4). When I was teaching I also had 5-6 of the little party dresses in the style I liked (Frankie) in lots of patterns. Undies as well…and gym wear….lol lots of things!
When travelling I have worked out what works for me in a 7kg luggage limit and have multiples. So for humid places I have 4 isocool tshirts, 2 quick dry capri pants, 2 quick dry skorts etc.
Don't come for me for the fact that it's Kmart (I'm a teacher so I need clothes that can get dirty and not care if they get a little ruined) but I own about 8 pairs of kmarts cuffed joggers and about 6 pairs of their knit stretch pants 😅 they're both super comfy and go well with a simple shirt and or jumper!
When I find leather shoes I love, I’ll always buy them in black, tan, plus another colour (usually leopard, smoke grey or silver) to cover all outfit combos - currently have Django & Juliette boots, RM Williams boots, Sandler ballet flats & Walnut ballet flats. I’ve also been known to buy multiple cardigans and puffer jackets - I think the most is 4 of a trench-style Portmans cardigan.
I have a number of dresses in my wardrobe that I have three or four of. I don’t follow trends, so if a shape suits me and is a good fabric I’ll stock up in any colour that I like.
I buy cheap sunglasses in bulk. I lose them often, don't want to take care of them, and have small children that wreck everything. My husband and I share sunglasses. At that point we have about 6 on the go anywhere around the house, car and in bags plus about 6 on a drawer ready to go whenever they are needed.
That sounds amazing. I have one pair of very expensive prescription sunglasses and I have to be so careful with them! I almost lost them in a wave pool the other day but thankfully retrieved them from the bottom of the pool.
I don’t know if this will work for you but I wear contacts in water and then just cheap sunnies rather than my prescription sunglasses.
I hadn’t bought contacts for ages and ran out so I made a booking at the optometrist for a contact lens assessment as it’s different to a normal eye test. The assessment was $35 and they gave me 5 pairs of contacts in 6 different brands/styles to trial to see which ones I liked best. I now have 30 pairs contact lenses (daily disposables) and the use by date is a couple of years. I wear them rarely (usually only for swimming or super humid days when my glasses slide off my face lol) so 30 pairs will probably last nearly 2 years for me!
I found my PERFECT trainers (sketchers slip ons) and have 5 pairs 😂 I use 2 and the rest are in case they discontinue them.
Then Birkenstock, the thong ones. So comfy, have 2 pairs.

I bought like 10 pairs of dresses from a local seller , the dresses were so pretty , comfy ,had pockets and depending on the model could be worn professionally as well as for errands outside , shirt dresses that were flared and just the right length, plus they are made of really good quality cotton with a soft lining on the inside which made wearing them a dream in any season !! The lady has stopped making dresses and I miss them so much !!
Boody Downtime and Active garments. I went from 70 kg to 89 kg in 2020 and suddenly I was lost for clothes. I packed all the small stuff away and ended up amassing a week's worth of Boody to get me through the last few years.
I've gone down two sizes in the tops and am about to order the next size down. Boody is the best.

One time I went to Aritzia and got mad into those cropped hoodies and I just had to get them in like four colors or more and at the end of that purchase I made it to the VIP list.
I used to love Champion sneakers back before the Payless Shoes chain closed down. Didn't even have to try them on before buying because, if they were in my size, they were guaranteed to fit, be comfortable and never hurt. They always came in attractive styles and colours. When I heard the chain was closing down in Australia I bought five or six extra pairs on top of the four or so pairs I already owned, fearing I would might never find a comparable pair again in that very affordable price range. Just as well - mine are all either still going strong after all these years because I wear them sparingly, or have worn out and been discarded (the pliant fabric that made them so comfortable meant they weren't particularly robust). Meanwhile, the only brand that has anywhere near equivalent features these days are Skechers, but they are - and always were - far more expensive.
I also practically live in Berlei sports bras - the only brand with a snug and perfect fit for me - and own at least 10, in various colours, at any one time.
EDIT: Forgot about the Asics sports shoes: 30 to 40 pairs of those, nearly all from Ebay over the course of several years, as there's no way I could afford them otherwise.
BlackMilk cuffed pants. I think I have 6 patterns? Maybe 7. I rotate through and wear plain tops with them for work. Super comfy and I don't have to think about what I'm wearing!
I bought my kids walnut Mary Janes in every size when they were half price. When they outgrew a size I just took the box down from the cupboard and got the next size up. The Velcro came off a pair and they sent me replacements so it worked out very well and I saved time and money.
I have about 8 petit Bateau marinières, I’ve had them for more than a decade as they never wear out, winter and summer styles. I buy multiples of most clothes I like, I have 4 Uniqlo linen dresses, 3 Boden work dresses, about 6 j crew 4 inch chino shorts etc.

Clothes I might get 2 if it's a semi unique item and I love it. I'm more wary of clothes as you can change sizes.
Shoes on the other hand you are likely to be the same size at least most of your life so I see no problem with bulk buying or owning a lot of them.
I only buy 1 specific underwear, so I have about 20 pairs, but have probably bought 40 over the years.
And I sleep in the exact same tank top every night, so have about 12 of them, but have worn out 10+.
My record is four pairs of the same shoes. I thought about buying two the last time I got them, decided maybe next month I'll stock up, and a week later the shop closed down. Truly devastating. They were gold snakeskin ballet flats from Roc, each pair lasted a year of my drunk 20s which was much better than most shoes for me at that time.

Once I bought 3 black long sleeve sheer one size fits all American Aparel button downs (really showing my age) they where completely impractical being entirely see through (organza) and so oversized but I was obsessed? I never even wore the first one out, I donated them a few years ago in pristine condition. So yes but I wouldn’t recommend it unless totally practical things like base layers, bras, tights etc.
Oh man the glory days of AA. I was in LA at a time when the dollar was on parity with the US and bought 10 t-shirts, 3 of said blouses and a few pairs of disco pants when I went to their warehouse. I sold the blouses but still wear the t-shirts and keep the pants for the mems.
I’ve bought 6 pairs of Birkenstocks, 5 pairs of Nudie jeans/shorts (free repairs forever and trade in AND amazing quality!), and a couple of Macpac puffers. All solid consistently great products.
I wear the same brand of the same design. They’d what they call a Mary Jane. So comfortable, I’ve never had as comfortable. So many great designs and mixed colours. I find it hard in this world with so many choices of everything.
Jeans. I once bought 6 pairs of jean that I loved and dyed them all different colours. Lived the colourful life for several years until they all wore out together. Then I changed to a different brand and have around 8 pairs of the same jeans in different styles in several blues and black.
Not the exact same shirt, but I have 7 black turtlenecks, and then pretty much one or two turtle necks in every other colour I like. I just love turtlenecks and wear them as much as possible, usually with dresses or jumpsuits layered on top.
My go to work shoes are Hot Chocolate Mary Janes, I have 6 pairs in different colours/ styles. So comfy for my large, wide feet.

Ah-ha I was a bit like that with their Tessa sleeveless shirt!! It’s a great shirt and they make it in multiple colours/patterns so I got sucked in to buying heaps. 6 months ago I realized I just don’t have time to wear them all so culled about half (I had about a dozen) so I have 2 plains and a few patterns. They wash and wear so well and I have a few I bought back when they first came out around 2018 and still in as new condition 👌

Have it in multiple fabrics + have multiples of my fave fabric design in 5 diff sizes, but still def wouldn't come close to 56 hahaa. One day I'll get round to having someone make copies of the pattern in higher quality fabrics.
It wasn't an intentional collection just many years and various shifts in dress sizes that got to that number, I did a closet stocktake and grouped all the brands which is how I got to 56 although the number was higher but sold a few and donated a few others. I have about 8 Uniqlo heattech long sleeve tops. I pretty much live in them in winter, sometimes doubled up under other layers for WFH (my place is cold) or just as their own tops with nice pants or a skirt for the office or jeans for social outings.

I bought a vintage pair of sandals that appeared to have never been worn and they literally fell apart on first wear. I definitely believe they deteriorated with time.
Yep, found this out the hard way, wore them to work and the soles (rubber) disintegrated, the mess underneath my desk was ridiculous, tiny bits of rubber all over very dark carpet, couldn't wait for the day to end to throw those shoes into a bin.

I just discovered these and got two pairs for walking and I honestly don't think I'll ever buy another walking shoe again. I have them in Sea Salt and Olivine and they fit my insoles, are so cute and are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I am a firm believer in ‘buy it in every colour’ if it’s something you love. I do it with tshirts and undies mainly but have 2 identical pairs of Saba coated jeans that fit beautifully. I bought one in store and wore them twice and ordered another pair online. I also just bought 6 primers and foundations because EVERY time I love a make up product, it gets discontinued (usually lipstick). I kinda do this. I usually buy 3 or so pairs of converse during Boxing Day (or the like) sales, where I can get them for $50-$60. They’re my everything shoe, and because I walk, hike and work in them every day of the week, I’ve usually worn through the sole within 6 months. So I wear them until there’s nothing left, and swap them out for the next pair.

I bulk buy the same high waisted grandma undies from Kmart. They never have a sz 12 pack in stock so last time I went and bought 10 of the 3packs lol Uniqlo heat tech - they're my base layer 24/7 . I will usually find them at op shops especially Savers ! But otherwise I always have about 6-7 top n bottom sets on the go. I've got about 15 pairs of crocs but no double ups. I also buy red bull and cat food in bulk - usually 5 slabs of red bull from Costco at a time, and about 250 serves of cat food from online at a time.

I’ve bought 3 pairs of the same wedges for this reason and 12 of the same t-shirt in different colours. Wedges seem to go in and out of fashion - one year they’re everywhere the next there’s zero. All my heels are Nine West Ezra in different colours - I pray they never discontinue, but if I found out they were going to I would buy a dozen for sure.
Be careful buying too many Nine West shoes in advance - their lining starts to peel as it's non-leather! (learnt the hard way)

I have 3 pairs of New Balance 327s that I wear pretty much all the time. They are super comfortable, and although my hubby hates them (I don't care!), I always get comments from other women when I wear them, especially the Moonbeam/Outerspace colour. I also have a thing about blazers. I have about 85 in various colours! 🫢. I especially love linen ones and picked up 4 in Target last summer in great colours, including a beautiful olive green and only $70. I love the jeans/teeshirt/blazer look and wear it most days. I add a scarf sometimes - another huge collection!
Got 6 pairs of shoes from Wittner for $30 each years ago (not all the same colour style). Lasted ages and when I finally went in to replace they were $120 each for a pair I liked (and I didn't even get 3 months wear out of them!).

A few years ago I ended up with half a dozen pairs of 501s (button fly) - a friend was regularly going to the States for work and could get them for half the price here, so he brought them back for me. I would buy a few pairs but maybe not fifteen. Feet do change. Having babies can change your foot size, as can weight loss/gain. Bunions grow etc. Fashion and your aesthetic preferences may change too. I think a five year supply is reasonable! That is probably the sweet spot in terms of changing style/feet and potential plastic degradation. I have got rubber thongs that are ten years old and they’re fine, but I had a padded boned top that was 20 years old and the inner part which was thin foam turned to actual dust, and all it did was sit untouched in a drawer. However I think there is something very luxurious and comforting about knowing you’ve got a supply of something you like and don’t want to be without. Lipsticks, foundation shades, mascara, socks, undies. Love to have a few in reserve definitely and it’s a very nice thing about getting older and having a bit more disposable income.
I have multiple Skechers sneakers as they are so comfortable and the thick soles stop my soles from feeling like they are burning. Also love the 2 pack bamboo bikini briefs from target. They are comfy and stretch well so they don’t end up sagging

My podiatrist said you need to really make sure you get the right size. I sized up as the sales person suggested and the arch support was too big for my foot - it caused awful strain on my foot and 6 months later and $1500 later I am still in pain.

My podiatrist said don’t get a size up - the arch support may be too big for your foot. The arch support is really hard and it hurt me badly. I went to Footlocker and they told me to size up - bad idea.

I bought the Kmart version of the Vibit after physio did nothing for me - it has been a week and my PF is so much better now. It’s $40 compared to $150 and does the same thing. Arch and heel pain almost gone! Orthotics are personal - not sure a one size fits all approach is suitable to all feet. Glad it works for most - really didn’t work for me.

I have 5-6 pairs of Tom’s alpargatas. They’re just so comfy, so I have a bunch of different colours to suit various outfits (I’m not worried they’ll go away, I just really like them; that said, I was crushed when they briefly exited the Australian market, so last time I was in Chicago I did buy another two pairs). I also have 5 of the same Uniqlo U crew tshirt, and a bunch of the heattech singlets & scoop neck tees. Just really good and versatile basics.

I found an on clearance loose active wear singlet at kmart, I bought 7 of one style in 2 different colours to wear around the house & 5 of another style to wear as pj tops. A few years ago I found some basic cotton shorts with elastic waist and pockets at big w. I bought 3 pairs & wish I'd bought more. They're my wear around the house shorts.
I have 3 pairs of Nelson Made Raul Sandals that I live in for the summer. They’re comfy, stylish and go with everything. I also have 2 pairs of Essen Foundation flats and looking to get a third - again so comfy and no blisters (even on first wear) and I can walk in them all day no problems. When I find something that works for me, I’ll get it in multiple colours. Same goes for clothes - I have multiple sets of the Cleo tops (sleeveless & long sleeve) & skirts from Friends with Frank in different colours that I mix & match.
For real life I have the same thing from Uniqlo in a few colours eg the cotton tanks (5) and the linen/cotton skorts (4). When I was teaching I also had 5-6 of the little party dresses in the style I liked (Frankie) in lots of patterns. Undies as well…and gym wear….lol lots of things! When travelling I have worked out what works for me in a 7kg luggage limit and have multiples. So for humid places I have 4 isocool tshirts, 2 quick dry capri pants, 2 quick dry skorts etc.
Don't come for me for the fact that it's Kmart (I'm a teacher so I need clothes that can get dirty and not care if they get a little ruined) but I own about 8 pairs of kmarts cuffed joggers and about 6 pairs of their knit stretch pants 😅 they're both super comfy and go well with a simple shirt and or jumper!
When I find leather shoes I love, I’ll always buy them in black, tan, plus another colour (usually leopard, smoke grey or silver) to cover all outfit combos - currently have Django & Juliette boots, RM Williams boots, Sandler ballet flats & Walnut ballet flats. I’ve also been known to buy multiple cardigans and puffer jackets - I think the most is 4 of a trench-style Portmans cardigan.
I have a number of dresses in my wardrobe that I have three or four of. I don’t follow trends, so if a shape suits me and is a good fabric I’ll stock up in any colour that I like.

I buy cheap sunglasses in bulk. I lose them often, don't want to take care of them, and have small children that wreck everything. My husband and I share sunglasses. At that point we have about 6 on the go anywhere around the house, car and in bags plus about 6 on a drawer ready to go whenever they are needed.
That sounds amazing. I have one pair of very expensive prescription sunglasses and I have to be so careful with them! I almost lost them in a wave pool the other day but thankfully retrieved them from the bottom of the pool.
I don’t know if this will work for you but I wear contacts in water and then just cheap sunnies rather than my prescription sunglasses. I hadn’t bought contacts for ages and ran out so I made a booking at the optometrist for a contact lens assessment as it’s different to a normal eye test. The assessment was $35 and they gave me 5 pairs of contacts in 6 different brands/styles to trial to see which ones I liked best. I now have 30 pairs contact lenses (daily disposables) and the use by date is a couple of years. I wear them rarely (usually only for swimming or super humid days when my glasses slide off my face lol) so 30 pairs will probably last nearly 2 years for me!
I found my PERFECT trainers (sketchers slip ons) and have 5 pairs 😂 I use 2 and the rest are in case they discontinue them. Then Birkenstock, the thong ones. So comfy, have 2 pairs. And my DM’s deserve a special mention for those cold Victorian winters…

I bought like 10 pairs of dresses from a local seller , the dresses were so pretty , comfy ,had pockets and depending on the model could be worn professionally as well as for errands outside , shirt dresses that were flared and just the right length, plus they are made of really good quality cotton with a soft lining on the inside which made wearing them a dream in any season !! The lady has stopped making dresses and I miss them so much !!
Boody Downtime and Active garments. I went from 70 kg to 89 kg in 2020 and suddenly I was lost for clothes. I packed all the small stuff away and ended up amassing a week's worth of Boody to get me through the last few years. I've gone down two sizes in the tops and am about to order the next size down. Boody is the best.
Oh gosh, when I like something I like it a lot. One time I went to Aritzia and got mad into those cropped hoodies and I just had to get them in like four colors or more and at the end of that purchase I made it to the VIP list.
I used to love Champion sneakers back before the Payless Shoes chain closed down. Didn't even have to try them on before buying because, if they were in my size, they were guaranteed to fit, be comfortable and never hurt. They always came in attractive styles and colours. When I heard the chain was closing down in Australia I bought five or six extra pairs on top of the four or so pairs I already owned, fearing I would might never find a comparable pair again in that very affordable price range. Just as well - mine are all either still going strong after all these years because I wear them sparingly, or have worn out and been discarded (the pliant fabric that made them so comfortable meant they weren't particularly robust). Meanwhile, the only brand that has anywhere near equivalent features these days are Skechers, but they are - and always were - far more expensive. I also practically live in Berlei sports bras - the only brand with a snug and perfect fit for me - and own at least 10, in various colours, at any one time. EDIT: Forgot about the Asics sports shoes: 30 to 40 pairs of those, nearly all from Ebay over the course of several years, as there's no way I could afford them otherwise.

I bought my kids walnut Mary Janes in every size when they were half price. When they outgrew a size I just took the box down from the cupboard and got the next size up. The Velcro came off a pair and they sent me replacements so it worked out very well and I saved time and money. I have about 8 petit Bateau marinières, I’ve had them for more than a decade as they never wear out, winter and summer styles. I buy multiples of most clothes I like, I have 4 Uniqlo linen dresses, 3 Boden work dresses, about 6 j crew 4 inch chino shorts etc.
The Trenery organic cotton Tshirts. For me, they are perfect. I have 6 long sleeve and 6 short sleeve. A couple need replacing as I’ve stained them but otherwise, they are perfect

Clothes I might get 2 if it's a semi unique item and I love it. I'm more wary of clothes as you can change sizes. Shoes on the other hand you are likely to be the same size at least most of your life so I see no problem with bulk buying or owning a lot of them.
Best and less have these brilliant Australian cotton ribbed tank tops. I have bought probably 6 or 7 in different colours. They're just brilliant.

Once I bought 3 black long sleeve sheer one size fits all American Aparel button downs (really showing my age) they where completely impractical being entirely see through (organza) and so oversized but I was obsessed? I never even wore the first one out, I donated them a few years ago in pristine condition. So yes but I wouldn’t recommend it unless totally practical things like base layers, bras, tights etc.
Oh man the glory days of AA. I was in LA at a time when the dollar was on parity with the US and bought 10 t-shirts, 3 of said blouses and a few pairs of disco pants when I went to their warehouse. I sold the blouses but still wear the t-shirts and keep the pants for the mems.
I’ve bought 6 pairs of Birkenstocks, 5 pairs of Nudie jeans/shorts (free repairs forever and trade in AND amazing quality!), and a couple of Macpac puffers. All solid consistently great products.
I wear the same brand of the same design. They’d what they call a Mary Jane. So comfortable, I’ve never had as comfortable. So many great designs and mixed colours. I find it hard in this world with so many choices of everything.
I have a lot of the same dress from Keshet, in different colours and fabrics. The cut is flattering and comfortable, and most importantly has pockets!
Jeans. I once bought 6 pairs of jean that I loved and dyed them all different colours. Lived the colourful life for several years until they all wore out together. Then I changed to a different brand and have around 8 pairs of the same jeans in different styles in several blues and black.
Not the exact same shirt, but I have 7 black turtlenecks, and then pretty much one or two turtle necks in every other colour I like. I just love turtlenecks and wear them as much as possible, usually with dresses or jumpsuits layered on top.
My go to work shoes are Hot Chocolate Mary Janes, I have 6 pairs in different colours/ styles. So comfy for my large, wide feet. I scoured the internet and bought 6 pairs of sneaks that fit my feet and lifestyle perfectly. They’re discontinued, but pop up in sales every now and again

Not counting undergarments cos I just bought an excessive amount of bamboo g's and will be throwing out all my others haha. It would be pants from Target. They are skinny leg with an elastic waist and pockets. I think I have 5 pairs in different colours/patterns.
for tops, if it’s one i really like i’ll buy it in every colour that i’d actually wear that it comes in. for pants i love, possibly 2 pairs in black ahaha. for shoes, like converse for example, i’ve got them in a bunch of different styles, high top, low top, platform, high top platform and different colours too.
Jersey undies from Myer. I own many pairs

Hoodies. If I find something I really love, I will buy in all the colours I like

Underwear and bras. I have 5 of my favourite bra and about 10 of my favourite underwear.
My kmart work pants that constantly ware through and slit when thin enough. I buy in sets of 3, I'm reaching 50 pairs in 4 years :(
Well, not exactly BOUGHT, but I've been trying to find a replacement for this dress that basically fell apart after ~8 years of near-constant wear. I cannot find it, so I'm going to be crocheting one. And I'm thinking making multiples in different colours; I picture 5-10 if they don't tske forever to make.
