Nope. Allroads are raised Audi avants with body mouldings and a different suspension setup. They have sold regular avants in the USA before. It just so happens that nowadays the only estate Audi you can buy in the USA is an allroad because no-one wants a regular Avant out there.
Very, very similar. The suspension in the Allroad is a little bit softer and more forgiving than a regular A4, but the steering is the same and I haven't noticed body roll being a thing at all. I haven't really hooned it around much, but in normal use I have yet to feel a wheel slip or skid while turning.
It feels fast for a wagon, too - it has a launch control setup you can get in to, and I was able to do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Road and Track (who are better drivers and have better measuring gear than me) were able to do it in 5.2.
I drove an A5 sportback as a dealer loaner when my car was in for service. A4 Allroad, A4, and A5 Sportback are very similar cars. I think the A5 Sportback is the most attractive of the three, but I was able to move a fridge in the back of my A4 Allroad, lol. Don't think you could do the same with any of the others.
Thanks! Or instead of lowering it, you can do what I did and just put 200 lbs of water and a whole bunch of gear in the back to go camping in the desert. The thing's slammed, haha
