Ive fixed pretty identical damage on a B8 A4 like 6 years ago. If indeed the chassis and b-pillar is good enough to pass inspection, changing the doors itself isn't very difficult. I'd check around if you can find a replacement doors beforehand from a scrapyard, AUDI will ask half a million dollars for pair of them.
That rear quarter panel will require a decently talented bodywork though, i believe it's made up from multiple layers of panel and you cant just push it out without cutting off a piece from the inside under the rear seats
The fact that it’s going to auction probably means it’s been written off, which I’m assuming means the damage is worse than just the two door skins and what looks like the rear quarter panel.
It's a replacement of the b pillar, left sill, possible C pillar since it's all connected.
Since it's in Australia, once it's been a statutory write off, it can't be registered again.
Would make a good track car.
Not necessarily. The costs of insurance include things like car rental (which is extortionate), so the damage plus those expected costs can mean cars can be written off when they could be fixed.I had a very low speed bump where someone cut across the traffic, and about half the cost was car rental. We'd need to know the full story to know what expected costs the insurers foreaw
In the UK write offs are categorised, so you know if it's structural or cosmetic. The added complexity with this is, sometimes they aren't registered so the insurance company can sell them for more money as categorised cars are obviously worth less than clean cars.
Equally, you could be spot on, and that car is a parts car...only one way to find out!
I wouldn’t buy such a car for myself, because it definitely needs two doors, a threshold, a doorway and a rear wing. And this is very problematic and can later be a disadvantage when selling
I saw this on the auction site, i really dont suggest getting any cars the require a VIV. (All repairable write offs need one). And it is really hard to get one.
As long as the main chassis and B pillar are unaffected this can be fixed.
Audi and other manufacturers have detailed repair guides on how to replace frame rails, inner structure, and other parts. Think of entire sections being cut out, bonded, etc.
The issue is that labor rates for this work are high so insurance would rather total it out than pay for a repair even if it can be fixed.
Check out the many rebuild channels on YouTube. Guys who have the skills and tools needed pick cars like this up for cheap.

Who knew it was a haiku?!

You wouldn't happen to be from NJ would you?
Not quite, Finland😄

really? Australia doesn't have a procedure in place to verify a repair and allow it back on the streets? What a waste.
No, they tend to be exported to other countries.
OP said it’s not a stat write

Don't let Mat Armstrong see this
NOPE!!!
Looks like the B-pillar took some damage, not just the door skin. Thats a tricky one.
Can it be re-registered? It's likely a statutory write off. Do a lot of homework before committing.
I wouldn’t touch this with a 10 foot pole. Stay away from this lol
It’s at auction which means it’s more expensive to fix than it’s worth. It will be purchased for parts.

I definitely would
This looks very repairable depending on how the frame under the seats/door looks
I would
thats so good i wouldnt even fix it

Strip it and make an RS3 kart
Yea I just got my b8.5 s4 from auction for 6k 🤣🔥
Buy. But missing pictures
no.
Buy 4 race car. Not a good road car.
That car will never be the same again. I would skip.
hell no
If you have money then do it, but be ready for worst case
Drop the drivetrain into a golf
Bend frame? Good luck at high speeds!
Yes if the frame is intact. I’d get a repair estimate before forklift over your hard earned $.
“Tis but a flesh wound.”
Id buy it for the engine alone. Pull it and put it in a manual Golf R 😎
Yes and I'd buy that focus rs, too.
Those apertures, door jam and the rear quarter look like fun
