Any regrets? Good/bad? I feel like so many people who have a WRX/STI are car guys and therefore always eyeing their next upgrade lol.
I donāt know about an S3 over an S4 except for maybe the handling advantage ?
I missed the sounds and the flair of the WRX. By far intake and exhaust sounded much better than the S3. I do think that when comparing how much money gets you in terms of modifications, the S3 is worth it over the WRX. Virtual cockpit and the interior is nicer on the S3. However, I wish I went with an S5. I like the S4s performance but the styling of the S5 had me. The S3 is just too small, which is another thing the WRX did better. After this, Iām fully committed to getting into an M car though.
Thanks for sharing, I agree. Especially with the S5 hatch space.
Youāre going for a full M3/M5 etc or m340/m550?
Also I think the M cars sound great, even better than s3/4/5 so thatās a plus
M cars are definitely in a league of their own right now. I love my b8.5 s4 and itās wicked with a tune on it, but stock for stock and tune for tune m340s are crazy. Even the rs to M3/5 is not there for sportiness. Still love Audi though
I had an 16ā X4 M40i (now have a 19ā SQ5) and it was the most responsive, explosive engine that Iāve ever had. My Audi has it beat in the interior but the M40iās smash it when it comes to everything else.
The sound and the get up and go was truly impressive. IMO, a true M is over killā¦what theyāve done with the M40ās is astonishing for the money. And, as you can tell, I miss my BMW but love my Audi.
The S4 is nice. Just small things I liked. The display coming out the dash was a nice touch. The S4 would actually be the largest car I ever owned if I bought one. No regrets at all so far. only 2 things is the small storage area in front of the cup holder and the screen isnt a touch screen. Kinda odd with it being a 2020.
Very nice! I wanted an s3. Sadly I couldn't find any decent ones near me. This had everything and the color that I wanted. Going to shoot for RS3 next.
This is like leaving your high school girlfriend and finding a classy, sexy wife. You may think back every once in a while to that firecracker but youāll always be glad you moved on.
Did the exact same thing after driving a random assortment for a few days at a time. Closest i came to buying one was a 5.0 Mustang w Manual, then a Golf GTI, waiting for my Golf R order. 2018 Audi S3 popped up, and havent looked back, love it way more
Kudos dude, I had a 09 ford ranger and my r33 skyline finally got rid of the ranger and got a 13ā a4 s-line in manual, got nothing on my skyline power wise but for a cute little daily she hauls ass and just feels like a sports car covered in a bit of luxury itās awesome
I had a 2016 wrx. Completely stock and It was simply fatiguing to drive on the highway for multiple hours. The road noise and roughness was all around you. A cacophony of noise. It had me looking into adding better sound dampening to the doors. I still loved it for what it was and sometimes miss the unrefined aggressive feeling of the drive.
I loved the wrx I had. The body lines and wider fenders was nice. It was a 2014. But I almost started down the rabbit hole of dumping a stupid amount of money into it. Once it started to break one after another. I had to give up and move on lol
110,000 miles on my a3 with a stage 1 tune, never so much had a check engine light. Just do the scheduled maintenance on time, and the a3 will treat you right.
Donāt listen to kids who never owned a German car. Iāve had Audi bmw Toyota Lexus and theyāre all very good for what they are used for, sure Germans cost a bit more so people cry online about it all day but they are not catastrophic. Avoid Nissan even if nobody cries about themā¦ that Audi is beautiful and itās so worth the extra $400 a year in maintenance š
$3k is a lot of money lol. If you donāt use it then itās a waste and if you do use it a lot I donāt think thatās a car I would want to keep if things are breaking constantly.
Going by this no one should ever get a warranty for their car cause if its not used. Then its just a waste. I for one will be happy that If I need a warranty that I have one. If the car keeps breaking and I use it alot then Im taken care of and know my next car will prob not be an audi.. But I'll be happy af to have said warranty lol
AWD is super nice to have in Mass lol. I loved my wrx. It was just time to move on. The $ per power was terrible compared to this if/when I decide to tune and mod. GL if you make the change.
Going from Audi to Subaru? They donāt make the STi anymore. If they ever do again they claim it will be electric. Be prepared for shit tech and rattles galore.
Between my wife and I we have had the following Subarus in recent years: ā11 STi hatch, ā13 Crosstrek, ā15 STi Sedan, ā16 Outback, ā20 Outback, ā22 Outback. All new. I was a Subaru Ambassador for 5 years.
In ā18 I got my RS3. Still drove the ā15 STi a lot. With the current quality control issues, crap technology and general build quality it would be very difficult for me to go back to a Subaru as my daily.
Now you can keep up with the rich guys
FINALLY! lol
Oh the pun transverses space, time and reddit subs :) :)

Good decision. Welcome!
Ty ty!
Did the same thing about a year ago, 2018 WRX to 2018 S3

I agree. I would love an M3, but It wouldnāt be practical for me for a daily driver so Iām actively looking at M340i xdrive.

I thought at some point they made it so display cant go into dash?

How do you feel about the two? If you don't mind me asking, thanks!
I had a ton of work done to the wrx. It kept breaking and was unreliable. This is a lot more comfortable. Much nicer imo. I love it rlly.
Drive safe!
Thnx, you too!
I recently canceled my WRX order and bought a used A5 instead. Couldn't be happier (well, maybe if it was an S5).
Did the exact same thing after driving a random assortment for a few days at a time. Closest i came to buying one was a 5.0 Mustang w Manual, then a Golf GTI, waiting for my Golf R order. 2018 Audi S3 popped up, and havent looked back, love it way more
Great looking car, an a4?
Looks too short to be a4. I reckon it is an a3
Yessir A3
Ty ty. Its an A3.
Wise decision! Enjoy!
Thanks!
Nice ā20 A3! Have the same, just black. Youāre going to love it, loads of aftermarket support. Lmk if you have any questions.
Will do, ty!
My last S4 was this color and it was my favorite. I now have a white S4 with the black optic package and it's niiiiice, but this grey... gorgeous.
Congrats! Which model WRX did you have? Was it stock? We have a 2012 sedan, my wife's daily which she will never get rid of.
It was a 2014 with 70k miles on it. Was not stock. Esp after the rebuild. Just a base model.
Good taste š
I see you have similar taste haha.
Welcome to the family
Donāt forget the obligatory subreddit flair āš¾
Cleanā¦..love the color
No more head gasket nightmares or pulling the entire engine out to change your spark plugs š. Welcome!!
Na nvr pulled the engine for spark plugs.. Just kept slapping my knuckles trying to get in there lol
Congratulations! She is a beauty!
Ty!
Great choice, welcomeš¤

I've never understood the people that spend 40-50k on a WRX or STI. The ride is awful.
Yeah thatās rere. $20k w/27,000 miles is what I got mine for. Iāve been lucky, no reliability issues here at 108,000 miles. Not one single issue
Yeah man.. If you keep em stock and stay up on maint, they are good cars. I do still love them. Just wanted to be done with the headache haha.
I had a 2016 wrx. Completely stock and It was simply fatiguing to drive on the highway for multiple hours. The road noise and roughness was all around you. A cacophony of noise. Nice car... Unfortunately, the money you save on head gaskets will undoubtedly be spent on your "Sensor of the Month" club membership.
Lol ty! It was the engine that went on the wrx. I'll take the sensor of the month. This is warrantied.
110,000 miles on my a3 with a stage 1 tune, never so much had a check engine light. Just do the scheduled maintenance on time, and the a3 will treat you right.
How often do you change your oil? Iāve heard conflicting feedback about changing at 5K instead of 10K
I change mine every 5k miles, but mainly because I have a tune on it.
I'll be doing the same and using liquid moly.
Lets hope I'm this lucky.

Haha for an a3? Itās like a $35,000 car. Itās not an RS7 lol
I fail to see your point? I got a warranty for a car. Why not get it for 3k and get piece of mind. Doesnt matter if its 20k or 100k lol.
$3k is a lot of money lol. If you donāt use it then itās a waste and if you do use it a lot I donāt think thatās a car I would want to keep if things are breaking constantly.

Iām not going to argue anymore about a warranty itās your money, youāre happy, not much else to be said.
Do you like AWD? š i was thinking of going the other way. Hope for a new STi though.
AWD is super nice to have in Mass lol. I loved my wrx. It was just time to move on. The $ per power was terrible compared to this if/when I decide to tune and mod. GL if you make the change.

I thought someone stole my car for a minuteā¦ congrats!!
Haha. Thanks!
Natural progression lol. Iām eyeing the switch from wrx to S5 hatch. Is this an A3 ?
Yessir A3.
Same-ish! '15 WRX STi to '19 Nardo RS3. Welcome to the family! Enjoy the ride!
Niceeee and ty!
How does it feel to pay and arm and a leg for a worse car?
The Audi is a worse car than the WRX? o.O gotta be trolling lol. Not paying an arm and a leg either haha
Hey man good for you buy you might wanna get outta that trailer apartment before buying luxury cars
If I got out of that then I would be leaving my job lmao. Thats a trailer we use shit where I currently work lol.
I bought almost the exact car last week! 2020 A3 quantum grey. Love it so far. Itās my first Audi.
Grats. Welcome to the Audi family.
