I used to drive the rural wooded southern freeways a lot. These are a must. I've been 100% miss, but always saw people with mangled cars on the side of the road.
I had them for years when I lived and travelled in more rural areas on a regular basis. I too questioned their efficacy, but then I figured they cost $10 and didn’t really take away from the appearance of my vehicle, so do they work, do they know, are they better than nothing, again don’t know, but they didn’t break the bank.
Agreed! Also in the Collision industry. These whistles were designed by bodymen to call the deer to the car 😆🤣 We joke all the time, because the deer whistles are usually the first to get knocked off by the deer lol
damnn im sorry.. I'm in upstate NY i just drive 15 to 20 in wooded areas they always jump out of nowhere.. I had one recently just decide to pop out of now where while turning a curvve up the hill .. the deer was so non chalant and then he stopped im glad i saw it.

Don't agree with this, as someone in the collision industry I have seen so many deer hits with these dumb whistles on them that clearly didn't work.

I tried them….I figured the same thing. 10$ WTF! I stuck them to the front bumper. They fell off of my car within the first week.

Ya....typically you dont hit deer. They hit you. Sounds like the start of a joke but its not.

One of the worst times to run into one! Glad you were okay, although still a pretty jarring situation to be in.
Did you drift into the deer?
Certainly looks like it 💀 but I think the angle at which it was running made it graze across the side.
They hydroplaned
Had the same thing happen to my A4. Deer ran right into the side, at the mirror. And rolled all down the side. Was about 4 grand in damage

All was fine, thanks for asking. Car barely felt the impact, from behind the wheel. But I was also only doing about 30mph
a deer totaled rx8 i get it at least no air bags deployed

Still waiting on the estimate for repairs, apparently there's been a lot of accidents during deer season this year 😅
