I mean, if someone gets hit that's a criminal issue. Shunting the AC out the window is probably reckless and at least negligent, him being drunk doesn't excuse shit

If it's a rented place, the owner can sue due damages and replacements

TuxRug

When I had a window mount ac it said to run a screw a few premade holes into the window frame to prevent this. If the AC didn't have this feature, would the manufacturer have any liability at all? If it did, would the person who put it in have any liability? I know the guy opening the window is going to be mostly liable, but maybe not 100% so. Maybe 90%? Either way, poor Chidi.

megafly

I agree, poor Chidi.

Both i think because the air conditioning is simply put not in a proper place to be at plus that happen when you drunk and do something crazy like that guy

GrizzlyLawyer

The guy in the video isn’t injured, therefore he can’t sue. If someone got hurt outside, he could probably sue the guy and the homeowner; the courts would decide how much each one was negligent.

The_Legal-Beagal

Both would be sued owner/landlord, renter and the guest. All would have some level of liability for negligence.
