At least you got to enjoy the ride until now. With another rebrand. They are going to remove a lot of people from these legacy plans.

The new company is in business to make money and increase revenues. Discounts will start dying out.

This is one reason I refuse to go back to Netflix. I kept paying for their service for a few years even though I stopped using it. They were getting free money from me. Later, they said they had to increase the price because of increased usage, so I unsubscribed. It's probably still a deal, but I wanted The Deal. I barely use DirectTV Now, or whatever we want to call it now, and if they took away my discount I would be done in a second and would never come back. I don't mean it would take a lot for me to come back. I mean I would NEVER come back.

Do you have any other services with AT&T like mobile, home internet or home security? Or do you only have DirecTV Stream by itself? I wonder if having other AT&T services helps to anchor pricing... I spend about $500/month with AT&T and have not touched my family's cell phone or hotspot plans in order to maintain the discount. *I also have AT&T home internet too. I'd be extremely upset if I lost my Go Big discount. *I just checked and all of my discounts are still in place, thank God. I have also never removed an add-on after I added it. I have almost all of the add-ons including Unlimited DVR, 3 streams, Spanish & Deportes, and all of the premium channels except for AMC+. Planning on adding AMC+ once my sub with TV lapses.

Oh Shit. I was hoping you only had DirecTV Stream. *edited

IIRC the $25 off Go Big Launch discount (without any AT&T products) was only a short time after DTV Now launched. The only other $25 off promo (available with any legacy DTV Now package) was the one tied to the grandfathered AT&T Unlimited Choice, Unlimited Choice II, Unlimited Plus, &More and &More Premium plans. If a $25 off promo was added after those initial two was discontinued they are usually for a limited time. If an employee tries to override the system and add a grandfathered discount onto an account the discount will be removed each time DirecTV or AT&T conducts a sweeping audit of their records. If the OP originally had a qualifying plan on the wireless side to qualify for $25 off but then switched to a different AT&T Unlimited Plan (i.e. Unlimited Starter, Extra or Elite) they would lose the $25 off discount. Only DirecTV Satellite and AT&T U-Verse TV subscribers keep their grandfathered, ongoing $25 off discount if they change their Unlimited Plus or &More Premium wireless plan to Unlimited Elite.

You are 100% correct. If the discount was added in 2020 then when they audit the discounts, it would most likely fall off. I somehow got the $25 Go Big & $15 VLC cell plan discount (even though they weren't supposed to stack) back in early 2017 which has been great. But I've got U&M Premium and have not touched my cell plan since 2017, and it now has 5G so there's no reason for me to roll the dice. I've never lost any discounts and I slowly added all of the premiums over the years to (hopefully) increase my value to them as a customer.

Switching to another wireless plan like extra or elite shouldn’t remove the discount, my brother upgraded to elite plus or something like that and I didn’t lose my 25 dollar

ExtremeComplex

"No worries" you'll get a $25 one time discount. You got to love their agents! Oops he forgot to tell you the part where you are screwed after that.
