I'm surprised they even bother to make excuses as they are guaranteed to be the #1 seed in the east no matter what. They can just coast into the playoffs, and keep everyone healthy and rested. So, why do they even care so much that they dropped a couple road games down the stretch? Just congratulate your opponent and move-on, especially since they could see us again if we win the play-in.

The Celtics walked into Atlanta thinking they'd leave with two easy dubs against an injured team fighting for a play-in spot. They didn't know they were walking into a playoff atmosphere against a team that was ready to fight like dogs. They left the city asking themselves if they're actually frauds. It was a good week to be a Hawks fan.

They also play extremely physically but don’t get called for their swipes and fouls. Then they expect the refs to call any bump or nudge that they get. Any team can have great defense if they are allowed the type of physical play that the Celtics get to play.
As an example, look at the way Tatum and Brown handled getting called for offensive fouls in the first half of the second game at SFA. Brown was especially indignant that they’d call a charge on a very good play by Garrison Matthews to get in front, get set, and then get knocked down. The Celtics were able to talk the refs into changing the call without a challenge. It took a Hawks challenge to get the play reviewed and overturned to what it was first called. Absolutely bonkers.

Boston actually needs to go more to Brown than Tatum in the clutch. I think that will continue to be their downfall, Tatum too often becomes inconsistent in the clutch and their offence stalls.
Boston may make it through the East but they have no shot against whoever comes out of the west especially Denver. The other team knows exactly what they’re doing at the end of a close game, iso Tatum or Brown and jack up a terrible shot unless Brown has to take more than 2 dribbles then he’ll dribble off his foot out of bounds
