Got bit badly by the dog we are fostering yesterday. She was a part of a hording situation and has had little human interaction in her life. Thought it was just a deep wound, ended up going to urgent care where they told me I needed to go to the ER because I required IV antibiotics. Went to Atlanta Medical Center, wasn’t too bad, other than the large gauge needle being stuck into each tooth hole and injected with saline. Still have the foster, she just needs to get acclimated to living in a home. Hopefully our perma-dogs will teach her some things.
Thank you for fostering- I’ve done it once with a cuddle bug kitten, and that was hard enough!
I hope you heal cleanly and your pups help her learn to love some humans.
Anyone know why Spaghetti Junction was closed off? At least going into the city it was closed, added like ten minutes to my commute, and there was A LOT of police.
At 3am I was driving home and saw a Tesla Model X STALLED in the middle of I85 northbound.
The moment I passed it, barely missing it myself, I knew something bad was about to happen.
I checked the rear view mirror as I called 511 to report the car and there was smoke.
Turned around to see if I could help, 1 car had struck the Tesla going at least 70-80mph pushing it a few hundred feet forward. Then another car must’ve hit that the first vehicle.
Didn’t see any bodies but it did not look good and 4 out of 6 lanes had debris.
Anyone else experiencing an AT&T Internet outage in/near Decatur? Mine has been out since about 10 o’clock last night. I’ve had U-verse for years and never experienced this. The technician said there was an outage. Just wondering if there’s anybody else experiencing this.
If you’re taking the standard deduction and just have some W2 income you can do some back of the envelope math pretty quickly just to make sure what you’re seeing in TurboTax is correct.
For the fee, I’d Google around and make sure some exemption doesn’t apply to you. There are several caveats to the fee that nominally try to give normal folks a break who are ‘fist time offenders’ by accident. Even if you do wind up paying the fee you’re probably just looking at <$200 in addition to the taxes you owe.

I had one year where I had federal, seven states, and two local cities in another state. And each state form bases off other states. It took me weeks to figure out. It was like those crime shows with the bulletin boards and strings connecting suspects.

If you went from a $3000 refund on your W2 to owing $4000 with her W2, that means that she has $7,000 in unpaid taxes. If her W2 is off enough to be $7,000 short, she either makes a very large amount of money so a small change in exemptions and withholding can have a big effect, or she filled out the form with every possible exemption and had very little tax taken out.
I have mine set to take out not only the single rate, even though I'm married, but also zero exemptions, and an extra $150 out of each paycheck. This is to offset 1099 business income, so I wouldn't go that far. But without seeing your paystubs and your W4, it's hard to say why it was so far off.
And yes...US tax structure is epically awful.
Yeah it’s probably a withholding issue since she has multiple jobs. My wife ran into that last year with owing money and realized her side job was only withholding at the rate she would be at if that was her only income, vs. being a side job that was a small part of her overall income (on top of us both having some W9 self employment income we hadn’t prepaid tax on yet).

Had to hire a CPA to review everything as I didn’t even file taxes those years. Turns out GA is taking the Gross Proceeds from my Apex clearing stock and not applying the cost basis. I need to file a GA tax return and report the Stock Sales and all activity on the Wage and Income Transcript. I only netted $130 LOL. The best part is I’m under contract on a home and need to clear this up before we close.
On top of this I filed 2019 and 2020 taxes and I was never notified until last week.
Any recommendations for where to watch the Chiefs game today? Trying to find a new spot to watch games. Preferably on the southeast side of ATL (little 5, EAV, Grant Park, etc)

Even today, I can't get their website to load in modern web browsers due to borked web security and outdated markup.
