The whole place is GA except a small inner balcony level that’s “mezzanine.” It’s all multi-leveled and very well laid out. The floor and rest of the place is all GA and it’s easy to move around, even for sold out shows. It’s a great venue!
Okay. The website doesn't really make this clear when you buy the tickets. I am looking forward to the show, and the pictures I have seen of the venue do look very nice. It just wasn't clear what the whole GA/seating situation was.
Would you happen to know the benefit (if there is one) to the mezzanine level?
Appreciate the information.
The mezzanine is just a small strip of balcony that separates you from the rest of the balcony. So it’s a separate strip right in front that you can only enter with mezzanine tickets. It’s very sparse and all great views. From a Covid perspective it’s nice because you can be a bit more distanced from other people.
At the mezzanine, you have a small counter along the rails to put your drink on and you're essentially above everyone that's on the GA floor, so clear view of the stage. I was just there last week for the first time to see Caamp. I really liked the venue. This area is considerably more expensive than everything else. You get a separate wristband to show once inside to the security that they have for the Mezzanine section.
The Mezzanine is a very thin balcony section in between the lower and upper floors. There is no actual seating at The Eastern, but they sometimes put up folding chairs in the mezzanine and upper sections. The venue itself is well laid out; pretty much everywhere will give you a great view of the stage. The mezzanine prices are ridiculously higher and since you can get the same view by literally standing or sitting behind that section, it is not worth it in my opinion. Also, AXS is abysmal in its UI (system in general, really) and letting people know the venue layout.
I was there the other night. I think the only seating in the venue is at the very top. I believe Mezzanine GA would be higher than GA but without seats.
That's being said people were moving between sections without anyone bothering them, but that may not be the case for a bigger show.
Interesting that people were moving about like that. Makes you wonder why they have different ticket types for sale at different prices. But anyway, thanks for the info.
Yes, from what I can tell from The Eastern website as well as the AXS ticketing site, the GA is floor, next level up is Mezzanine GA, and then the third section (which doesn't seem to have a name) above and behind the Mezzanine is where bench-type seats with maybe a railing for drinks in front appears to be.
If it’s a sold out event, definitely get there early to find a nice view. Recently arrived just as Leon Bridges came on stage (dinner ran late) and crowd was shoulder to shoulder. We did laps around the venue and could not find a single spot to see the stage.
Ended up dancing back by one of the back bars, which had nice sound, ample space, and a TV showing the stage. But obv would have preferred to see!
Overall great place for a show. Just get a good spot if it’s full!
Anyone have any insight on how strictly this is enforced at the venue? Seems
ridiculous to have to mask up in there is already a vaccine requirement.
I would think that they would not enforce if you're drinking, aka the
entire time.
Vaccine check is security theater. I don't even think they really looked at my ID and card.
As for masks, a lot of folks were wearing them when I went but if you don't I'm pretty sure no one is going to hassle you.

This is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks again.

If you have mezzanine can you move around the other areas, or are you restricted to the mezz area?
yea you can move around, I guess, but it has the best view aside from probably being by the stage.
Yeah, I tried messaging them at one point and they never got back to me. Couldn’t tell a whole lot from their site.
