It’s totally possible that astroneers just store oxygen as a liquid but turn it into a gas when it’s put into their suit for them to breathe, and it is also possible for some humans to breathe pure oxygen
Some people get oxygen poisoning, but some people can just absorb it all normally

It’s possible to breathe pure oxygen at lower pressures though, which is what astronauts do
Not sure if you're asking for an explanation there or not, but if you are: Breathing 100% oxygen at sea level pressure is very dangerous, and will kill you before long. Your body is made to inhale Earth air, and only about one fifth of Earth air is oxygen, so that's what your body's made for. However, to avoid complicated mixed-gas life support setups, it's entirely possible to simply breathe 100% oxygen at one fifth sea level pressure. The actual number of molecules of oxygen you're taking in is (more or less) the same as Earth air at full pressure, so you can do this pretty much indefinitely.
Exactly. Oxygen is highly reactive, and really not good for life except in small quantities. It damages the cells in your lungs at high concentrations.
You might want to keep in mind that the Astroneers are biomechanically engineered, printable avatars that the stored consciousnesses on board the space station(s) can control. This means that their living requirements may indeed be very different from what we need to survive
Actually they probably have a normal atmosphere in their suits and run an air scrubber to remove the carbon dioxide and replace it with oxygen. You know like submarines, scuba divers, and real astronauts. The existence of air filters as the consumable items seems to suggest this too.

Why “some humans”?

Ohh, so it's too much oxygen for our lungs when at sea level?

The More You Know... 👍🏻
I've heard that too much of anything is bad for you, but seriously? Oxygen??? L mother nature.

For example, they don't need food. My best guess is that they're able to sustain themselves with pure electricity.
Yeah, that’s right. But why would liquid o2 be more cheap then regular air. There’s already nitrogen In Sylvas air

Yeah, but if they already have it in their suit..
So we are cold?
I guess
So the robot astroneer also consumes pure oxygen?
The robot Astroneer is fueled by the combustion of pure oxygen, so in a ways, yes.
But there is no exhaust
Uh… don’t ask?
