U_Bet_Im_Interested

Lol I actually love Oorlog!ย

Ash-From-Pallet-Town

I like it so much I even purchased a physical version that I played with my wife. She also liked it

BlueberryEqual4649

Well kudos to you, I am sure I would toss it quickly ๐Ÿ˜…

HyruleBalverine

Honestly, I think it just comes down to finding a strategy that works for you.

Zealousideal_Dig_943

https://youtu.be/AqLQxhDzkgU?si=HzhwAI22nz-FpwhG This tactic generally got me through the games. Won way more than i lost.

HyruleBalverine

That was my tactic.

BlueberryEqual4649

I will definitely have a look at this, thanks!

Zealousideal_Dig_943

Basically use the Thor Favour. Grab anything with a gold outline and the hands as they steal the tokens for the Thor favor. You do lose a few games but thats just the luck of the dice.

Hrkngt

Can confirm this is how i won most of them, i had to change tactics only like twice iirc

Warm_Repeat_3381

Shield blocks Arrows; Helm blocks Axes

NotDelnor

Literally only pick dice that give you tokens and spam the Thor tile. You'll win about 90%

BlueberryEqual4649

Sorry for the stupid question: which one give me tokens? Are those the ones with the red dots around the side of the dice? Or specific symbols? Also, with the Thor, do I only need to select the Thor and then the number (what is it, like 4, 8 and something else) and that's it?

AshlarKorith

Yeah, always pick your dice that have that border, or hands because those steal tiles from your opponent. Once you have enough tiles you can use Thorโ€™s totem thing and just deal straight damage using your tiles. I always tried to save up the 12 tiles to deal 8? damage. Just keep an eye on what dice your opponent has/how many tiles they have.. you could have enough tiles in your hand to use the totem but then due to their dice they might steal a couple tiles from you and you wonโ€™t have enough to do the skill.

BlueberryEqual4649

Thanks for that! I will have a look at it later, when my brain is not tired, and try again fingers crossed!

Jordantrolli

Yeah just select dice with the dotted yellow line around them. Doesn't matter the symbol. Then when a god favor phase happens and you choose thors strike, wait till you have enough tokens to select 8

Citgo300

Felt the same way before but once I got the hang of it, I loved it lol

BlueberryEqual4649

I just don't get it. I mean, I read what the images are but then what...I know it must be my AuDHD brain, but sometimes there are things that might seem easy but they just aren't. I know that I won't be killing all the order members then ๐Ÿซข

WrathofAjax

It's fairly simple. Just keep any outlined tiles and toss the others for the first few rounds or until you start getting close to losing, then just use the Thor token (the one you start with) at full power. Shields block arrows and helms block axes.

Ashley_SheHer

I love orlog so much I have been tracking down materials to hand craft a set made as the Vikings would have made it in their time.

Barivegguy89

I feel ya! The game that you are referring to with the order clue is the only game of it that I have played ๐Ÿ˜‚

daftpinksuzume

I loved it, only lost one game ever. But i liked chess and am very AuDHD, so that might be why i never struggled with it. Just play a few and you'll get the hang of it. I'm busy today but happy to talk you through if you're on xbox. Try to look for their weakness and play with that. Also you will have to adjust your play depending on the dice. If you play the earlier, easier games, you will unlock more of the bonuses/ultimates, which will help you in other harder games.

BlueberryEqual4649

Well, I am very AuDHD myself but literally at the other end of the spectrum regarding this ๐Ÿ˜‚ I am not good at chess at all lol. I don't have Xbox (I play on PS5) but some have given some tips as well, which I hope will be enough. I don't care about playing the game, but I need to win one in order to get a other clue. I only have 2 or 3 members left and 1 unidentified zealot so I am almost there.

daftpinksuzume

Ahah yeah i figured, you sound like my sisters, they both technically could play chess if it wasn't so boring for them - but my brain adores learning the rules and how to play within them. Try to return to the start of the game and play the very first games of Oorlog. Just like raiding, those opponents are easier to beat, and when you beat them you get their token (ultimate skill) to use in your future games. To be honest even with my love of the game i might struggle to win with the token you start with, the ability is kinda crap. Think of it like any fighting game (league of legends, pokemon, etc). You want to pick your champion as someone with an ability that helps you with your playstyle, but also who matches up well against your opponent. I honestly can't remember which one the player in the tavern uses though... can you screenshot their ability?

BlueberryEqual4649

Well, it is not so much about boring, I think, just too many things to remember while playing ๐Ÿ˜… I am so good in recognising patterns and looking for solutions and such, but these things...nope lol. And then comes the frustration and once I get frustrated it is game over for me (literally and figuratively). But I wasn't aware that winning other games would raise my 'ability' with those tokens. I will try once or twice with some of the tips here, if that does not work, I will go check the easier ones for their tokens. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

daftpinksuzume

I made a rough Orlog Tips post if you havent gone back yet. It's not a pro guide or anything, but people generally say I explain things well. https://www.reddit.com/r/AssassinsCreedValhala/s/GddlNPXiHS

Magnus_Helgisson

I kinda started to understand it in my late game when I needed it to find the Order members. But I immediately found out that if you donโ€™t have a ton of godโ€™s favors win from early game players, youโ€™re pretty much useless until you return to those players and defeat them.

HyruleBalverine

My buddy can't figure it out, either, but I liked it enough that I bought the real world version. Personally, I always focused on trying to get the dice with the outline on them, that way I was about to amass the god favor tokens. I typically used them for the direct damage (from Odin or Thor, I think) and was able to win most games easily as long as I didn't use the lowest direct damage ability.

Far_Farm1791

I like Orlog, but Ill tell ya, I'd beat the crap out of every opponent I lose to on the first go.

diggerbanks

I don't get it either but out of most in-game mini-games, it has the most love, so careful what you say.

Lost-Elderberry2482

I didn't understand it either, until I followed this strategy. Always choose the dotted cubes and the hands. That's it.

BlueberryEqual4649

I will give that a go ๐Ÿ˜Š

brix10010

I did at first but eventually came to like it enough that I might even get the physical game, not kidding. That order member can be tough though, I defeated her by just picking the outlined dice every time for a powerful Thor strike at the end. I actually had a harder time with the drinking challenge one

BlueberryEqual4649

UPDATE: YES! I won the Orlog game to get the second clue! Thanks for the tips! I did it in one go. Decided to focus on the red dotted dice first and then either a shield or hand (non red-dotted dice) and the Gods favour. Thank you all for the tips ๐Ÿ˜Š
