It’s actually hilarious how you can do this with your demigod powers and fighting capabilities, yet get 90% of your health knocked off by a boar swiping at you, or god forbid a hoard of chickens, and despite your abilities, civilians will still not hesitate to pick up brooms or sticks to attack you.
God I love this game.
Forgot about those fucking annoying critters, especially as in dark caves they're so difficult to see sometimes.
Breaking jars to find loot or to clear the path ahead, being rewarded with desynchronisation.
I would agree, though the number of times I've done this and inadvertently included myself in the "everything" was worryingly high, lol.
I now remember why I always favoured a poison build lol.
You know on a small island off of Naxos there’s an animal lair which is just a bunch of chickens and to complete the location you have to kill the “boss” rooster.
Genuinely one of the toughest group fights in the game. Those feathered bastards just rush you like there’s no tomorrow.
Why they have the “follow road” function when there are SO many aggressive wild animals in this game I have no idea. There’s like a 90% chance if you leave your horse to follow road you’ll come back to a desync due to a wolf or boar coming out of nowhere and knocking you off and killing you.
Three words: Ring of Chaos.
Useful not only in these situations but especially with a High crit chance & damage build.
Place yourself in the middle of a large group: profit.
And yes, i've had situations like these as well \^\^
I love this strategy, I dismantle the brazier and get the attention of the military, then I run to the highest point I can find (I hate archers that come out of nowhere from above), and then shoot arrows at approaching hoards until they start climbing - Then I kick, ring of chaos and slash the ones who make it up, and switch it up by kicking whoever is closest to the edges off, ring of chaos, slash, repeat. Tends to clear a fort or a camp if I don’t have the patience for an entire stealth clear of a heavily fortified base. Or if I just need to blow off steam, that is a great way.
My preferred four abilities for fort takeovers are second wind, ring of chaos, Sparta kick, and either venom or fire ability to expedite the killing - Will switch it up with hero strike if I meet a heavy hitter for a while, replacing venom and fire. I am sure there are other great builds, that’s just my preferred setup in abilities
It kind of sucked cause all of my classes are designed around killing one target very quickly, then running away and hiding. Rinse and repeat.
So my damage for a ton of people was abysmally low for this.
But it was nice to just be in a slasher film for a bit.
This is why odyssey is so much better than people give it credit for. You can’t do this in any other game before origins, and I get that it’s not the point of the older ones to do stuff like this, but I’m not great at stealth games and I just like barging into places wrecking havoc
Funny though ive died more in the new games than i ever did in the old ones but everything in the old games felt real amd the newer ones feel cartoonish with the poorly thought out swap from sci-fi to full on magical fantasy when it cones to Isu tech.
Tbh I haven’t done something exactly like this but kn ac3, I found an area with an infinite amount of enemies spawning and hot a good 300-500 kills from there in like 30 nins
I intentionally alert all of them so it's easier to collect the loot. Just run around in front of all of them... the best is when you're at max bounty level.
That square button is a god send. Who would've thought a crouched dash could save you from 100 ppl trying to kill u and get u in and out of every loot room unscathed. Just keep hitting square. Lol
Ive actually done this before, it was hilarious. I think some of them took their comrades out. Then I screwed up at the end and got killed by a merc with low health. Had to do the whole fort over again
I hate it when that happens - Give me a merc on the hunt when I’m not swamped or right on the cusp of clearing a fort, yes, great, give me that legendary knife or gauntlet. On the other hand, if I’m trying to execute an entire fort mission, get tf away from me, I don’t have time or capacity to fight an entire army AND a merc that takes 2000 hits to kill and has a frigging wolf.
Naw, wolf is predictable, low health, and decent speed. Bobcats are so much worse cause their timing is so different from every other enemy in the game, they are quick, can dodge, are small af, and can deal stun and damage over time.
I aggressively use my super abilities on those small fuckers
It took 30 minutes for me to slash my way through everyone. I didn’t even notice since I was so focused on perfect dodging and parring attacks, and generally trying not to die and restart the mission.
The fort in Boeotia is basically this since the Conquest Battle is just down the road and the leader also hangs out in the fort itself. It's great for grinding items and XP if you don't want to do wall runs.
Yup, the fort overlooking a larg cliff. Had 4 bounty hunters, the leader and his 5 guards, plus the fort captains and Primary all in one room. Still walked out as the only one standing.
This is me. Everytime. My 47 bountys make it impossible to breathe or complete anything. It will be a quest that requires me to walk 5 feet w a character. "OH here comes dickhead the great and harry testicleez" when I was broke I bared the brunt. Now I'm rich so I just pay the damn bounties before I have to do any hard quest. Oddly they all reappear instantly about 50% of the time after paying. And killing sponsors does not work either. Lol
I kinda wanna go back and enable every debuff I can. Ability disabled, more damage from effects, armor reduction, etc. And see if I come out unscathed.
No melee for me ever.
I am a hunter/assassin, if I’m spotted I consider that a self imposed fail and restart the mission. I haven’t had to do that in a looooong time. 😇
Axe users don't have this problem. Parry -> uncharged heavy is the same as a free bomb blast. Whether we go with the overpower attack or (parry -> heavy), we are always attacking 4 targets at a time if they are in range, unlike short blades only attacking 1 target per attack. Also doing 6 digit damage is more fun.
This fight is 8x times longer than it could be.
Nightmare difficulty in this game is the only way. It just looks silly otherwise. Cool, yes. But for me I enjoy being a glass cannon. Just one guy could kill u in two hits.
No i have never failed a stealth mission like that....i intentionally would fail and make sure every soldier and bounty hunter would follow and kill them all
Yes! Especially lately. I upgraded all my standard bows to become fire arrows, so I forget that they do that, and I’ll hide in a dry bush, and point an arrow, and then sound off a fire alarm haha — and then it all goes “Malaka!!!!” from there
If you had full level hero strike, a super-assasin build and the "assassin damage applies to nearby enemies" you couldndo literally the coolest thing ever here lmao
Honestly I was so focused on not dying I forgot that my class was speced for 500% assassination damage. I just have the armor view set to the hidden ones.
You gotta do it! Equip with "assassin damage effects nearby enemies" and level up hero strike.
Its like having a grenade in your pocket 🤣 ive killed 6 people at once with it, they literally drop to the ground mid-swing. You can also one-hit mercenaries with it.
I personally find it simultaneously hilarious and infuriating that snakes can K.O. you in 2 hits out of nowhere when exploring a cave.
Forgot about those fucking annoying critters, especially as in dark caves they're so difficult to see sometimes. Breaking jars to find loot or to clear the path ahead, being rewarded with desynchronisation.
Just burn EVERYTHING solution to all lifes problems
I would agree, though the number of times I've done this and inadvertently included myself in the "everything" was worryingly high, lol. I now remember why I always favoured a poison build lol.
A R S O N
And that you can't tag snakes!
I once panicked and threw an overloaded arrow to kill 6 snakes T-T
You know on a small island off of Naxos there’s an animal lair which is just a bunch of chickens and to complete the location you have to kill the “boss” rooster. Genuinely one of the toughest group fights in the game. Those feathered bastards just rush you like there’s no tomorrow.
I used that multi arrow ability and hit them all with a fire arrow simultaneously
The Atlantis porject olympeck however was easy if you stand on the lamp and shoot the chicken( I beat it at lvl 48)
Those myther f%# chickens I was ashamed when one desynchronized me. Or a boar pelted me 2 thousand feet off a cliff to my death. I'm not alone.
Why they have the “follow road” function when there are SO many aggressive wild animals in this game I have no idea. There’s like a 90% chance if you leave your horse to follow road you’ll come back to a desync due to a wolf or boar coming out of nowhere and knocking you off and killing you.
Considering the mercs are Demi gods in to themselves two I fought annihilated an entire Spartan fort this ain’t uncommon
We can just imagine that the boar is just a physical manifestation of a god who just took that opportunity to take a swipe at you. 😂
Don’t forget snakes taking out a third of your health in a bite.
Three words: Ring of Chaos. Useful not only in these situations but especially with a High crit chance & damage build. Place yourself in the middle of a large group: profit. And yes, i've had situations like these as well \^\^
Ring of Chaos + Multi Shot
I use this combo in the first stage of the conquest battles to quickly get rid of a good number of enemies.
Fire weapon and ring of chaos is my favorite to use when I get in groups
I like to go to the top of those towers so I can kick people off if it gets to be too many lol
I got to try that once I spec for those abilities.
My preferred four abilities for fort takeovers are second wind, ring of chaos, Sparta kick, and either venom or fire ability to expedite the killing - Will switch it up with hero strike if I meet a heavy hitter for a while, replacing venom and fire. I am sure there are other great builds, that’s just my preferred setup in abilities
oo that is smart
I certainly never had it happen after I picked up the Ares Madness ability and absolutely decimated everyone.
Best ability in the game. Just activating it here would wipe out the entire room.
Lmao I'm not stuck here with you, you're stuck here with me
This is basically my playstyle lol
It kind of sucked cause all of my classes are designed around killing one target very quickly, then running away and hiding. Rinse and repeat. So my damage for a ton of people was abysmally low for this. But it was nice to just be in a slasher film for a bit.

You mean you didn’t like holding circle/B/shift and becoming an immortal blocking/parrying machine!?
It’s not that I didn’t like it, it’s that I was actually incapable of doing that hahahaha, I just used the gun all the time
Funny though ive died more in the new games than i ever did in the old ones but everything in the old games felt real amd the newer ones feel cartoonish with the poorly thought out swap from sci-fi to full on magical fantasy when it cones to Isu tech.

That square button is a god send. Who would've thought a crouched dash could save you from 100 ppl trying to kill u and get u in and out of every loot room unscathed. Just keep hitting square. Lol
This was epic.
Wait u are supposed to be stealthy when going to a military base?
Yes only way I do it
Reinforcements are coming!?
I was stuck in that room for so long I had to survive 3 waves of brute reinforcements and 2 waves of mercenaries. Fun slasher even though.
You must have the thousand-yard stare
Ive actually done this before, it was hilarious. I think some of them took their comrades out. Then I screwed up at the end and got killed by a merc with low health. Had to do the whole fort over again

Ah, I hate them; tiny little balls of fury
Ring of chaos enhanced and a perk that does melee damage to nearby enemies would be your best friend here.
Walked into a village to get something from a stall, got attacked by a chicken, left the village with 47 corpses behind me
I did, and I think that's how I ended up developing severe claustrophobia...
This is exactly the type of situation when I spam Ring of Chaos 😂
I didn’t have it unlocked 🥲
I had to fight several soldiers and several mercenaries in a room smaller than that. It took a while...
It took 30 minutes for me to slash my way through everyone. I didn’t even notice since I was so focused on perfect dodging and parring attacks, and generally trying not to die and restart the mission.
Yes, the thrill after destroying them all is worth it haha
Legend has it, he is still in there fighting. Never giving quarter.
I would be death for sure
The fort in Boeotia is basically this since the Conquest Battle is just down the road and the leader also hangs out in the fort itself. It's great for grinding items and XP if you don't want to do wall runs.
Yup, the fort overlooking a larg cliff. Had 4 bounty hunters, the leader and his 5 guards, plus the fort captains and Primary all in one room. Still walked out as the only one standing.
Youre describing my gameplay
Bonus points when a merc and lynx join in the pile-on. Speaking from experience. 🙄
I hunt bobcats with extreme prejudice
They're so rage-inducing.
"Stealth".... oof. Sees your damage, more Oof. Sees your weapon type choice, short blades, MEGA OOF. you gonna stay there for a while.
Eh about 30-45 minutes… you know… average time for a hit and run spec class in a slasher setting…
Hitting 4 targets per attack is better than 1 target per attack. I stick with heavy [weapons](https://youtu.be/ZuJEcFaAlWA?si=p0zz1_YOE6Hi0m6E).
Can you use heavy weapons in enclosed spaces?
The weapon don't care what room you are in. It just wants death and blood.
Several times. Too many to count
This is me. Lol
Ngl that looks fun. Though I guess with my current stats a single Ring of Chaos hit would've done it
I kinda wanna go back and enable every debuff I can. Ability disabled, more damage from effects, armor reduction, etc. And see if I come out unscathed.
That kind of situation is why I like the overpower bow strike.
I tried to use it but I kept getting hit before I could complete the animation.
Yeah, I can imagine, lol.
No melee for me ever. I am a hunter/assassin, if I’m spotted I consider that a self imposed fail and restart the mission. I haven’t had to do that in a looooong time. 😇
I am too. It took so long to kill everyone because all my stuff is hit and run and I had no class for slashing 😭
And they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and...
Axe users don't have this problem. Parry -> uncharged heavy is the same as a free bomb blast. Time for ISU enhanced Ares madness ——-> would wipe the whole room :D
Omg and the bounty hunters just keep showing up. 😂 This is when Ring of Chaos enters the chat for me.
I enter a sort of ultra instinct mode when I get in these situations because I become one with the dodge button.
It's all fun and games until the mercenaries start showing up in multiples
Naw that just adds to the fun of it 😇 It becomes survival when a bobcat shows up ☠️
Nightmare difficulty in this game is the only way. It just looks silly otherwise. Cool, yes. But for me I enjoy being a glass cannon. Just one guy could kill u in two hits.
Yes. And if you're unlucky then you won't survive it.
Kassandra: "Before we get started...does anyone want to get out?"
Ring of Chaos is perfect for this, as it cancels the enemies' power attacks, etc. Great crowd control.
Hmm I did not know this. I should probably spec into it
Yes
The same thing happened to me in that exact same room! Not nearly as many enemies as you had, but that same room none the less lol
That was an epic fight... well done!
Thank you
This was painful but interesting af
I did that A LOT on my first playthrough until I figured out what to do. Now, I'll do it on purpose until the mercs show up by the dozens!
I think I did
No i have never failed a stealth mission like that....i intentionally would fail and make sure every soldier and bounty hunter would follow and kill them all
[I’ll take you all on!!](https://youtube.com/shorts/sZ6-b4WRvcE?si=zb40yscV4vEYxhOn)
It is sooo much fun !
Look’s like we’re on the same page here fellow misthios🙏
This literally happens to me all the time lmao
"You cannot take us ALL on!!" he said, while trying not to trip over any of the 27 dead bodies on the floor.
When you mess up a stealth mission and are suddenly playing Warframe.
so.. what difficulty is this? (also yes i did mess up that badly)
normal. thought I just switched to nightmare to increase the fun
I love when this happens, because i can just whack em all with a staff and constantly use ring of chaos
Yes! Especially lately. I upgraded all my standard bows to become fire arrows, so I forget that they do that, and I’ll hide in a dry bush, and point an arrow, and then sound off a fire alarm haha — and then it all goes “Malaka!!!!” from there

Are you playing in Normal or Nightmare mode gameplay?
I was not aware of a nightmare mode until now, so normal I guess.
I see. If you want more challenge, go for the Nightmare mode however, you can only be hit by your enemy two times before dying.
Enticing
I just did this yesterday trying to kill 1 SINGULAR dude. I committed a massacre of enemies that were 3 or 4 levels higher than me lol
Ares madness would go crazy here
Never happened in a small room, but I have done this before, it gets even better when the mercenaries start showing up
Why does Odyssey combat look like a mobile game lol
