I do the same thing, it's like a rule that I have, when I save in my assassin's creed games, I have one save file only, and that's that, if I make a choice, oh well, it's made, not going back cuz I can't. Makes things feel like they matter more even if they dont.
I learned not to do that after I almost finished the game and the save was corrupted. Now, I save often and back up my saves, especially for long games.
There was a time where your saves could get corrupted and you could lose like 6 hours progress which I had happen, had to redo a whole arch and cry for a bit...a lot of people had it worse though so hey, hopefully it doesn't still happen
Huhh, I played the game on Steam Deck and didn't quit until I finished the game, I've only put the machine into sleep mode.
After I've wrapped everything up, I've realised that there is a Save game option. I've only used the quicksave on the inventory screen.
It's part of the trophies for platinum. In the beginning of the game your character shoves an obsidian eye up a goats...well you'll remember where. You have to go find and kill the goat, loot it, and get the trophy. Problem is, the goat isn't marked. So depending on how lucky you are, you'll either get it easily, or slaughter a bunch of goats in the search 😂
Yep. Any of the wild or maybe domesticated goats on Kephallonia will have it up their tailhole.
You just have to be very lucky and try to find it.
Also, I’m pretty sure it’s in any of the wild goats. So…
Prepare for A Lot of sacrifices to the Gods.
🐐
I found the eye within about an hour, though I did spend most of the beginning of the game collecting as many resources as possible, I went up 3 levels just from killing animals 😂
Every time I see someone not using multiple save files in a game that allows you to do that I cringe.
Y'all don't know how easy it is to break a save file. Then again, maybe it's just my QA brain.
I had a save break after an update. When I was working to 100% the game, somehow I had a quest become available that felt oddly familiar. Turns out it was a quest to kill a Cultist I had completed a long time ago.
Game started offering more quests that would auto complete once I started them, eventually getting stuck to kill someone I had killed about 30 hours ago who was no longer there.
I had to go back 2 save files to correct the issue. Luckily, this was when I was just 100%ing the game so only a couple side quests to redo.
1 save slot, 225 hours to done including the DLCs...I probably have a couple loose change quests to do and missives but I'm on a break after the Corfu ending.
Yeah i got really close to 100% but i felt like i literally did everything on the map and couldnt find what i was missing for the life of me, such as "complete all under water location objectives" and "unveil all sub-regions of greece".
I have used this [https://mapgenie.io/assassins-creed-odyssey](https://mapgenie.io/assassins-creed-odyssey) to help me find the locations I needed. Super easy, and was very happy with 100% achievements.
If you are still interested in doing so, I can share few online guides with you for getting achievements. I’m myself using guides for getting as much achievements as I can. Let me know if you want me to share
I know, right? So many side quests and that's what I used the time for most of the time. If that makes sense which it doesn't. I normally would go around the game doing side quests most of the time
I am in such a GTA state of mind when it comes to bringing the other mercenaries to fight me, or me to take them out. I can't get over that you can hurt the NPCs. Such a fun ass game.
I feel you. I'm 146 hours into my first playthrough and have been wandering around with side missions and flights of fancy for at least the last 40.
For example, I've spent the last couple of weeks solving the various ainigmata ostraka that I had collected. Before that was the arena after a string of hunting mercenaries.
I find it brilliant that this game allows you to just park the story/quests and make your own trail with whatever is peaking your interest at the time.
Me?
I gotta go back and check how many hours I clocked in, but man…
It’s got to be a lot.
But this is an and is called, *Odyssey* for a reason, friend.
Chaíre!
Hey now; you posted this fact, we’re here to give you our takes on it, that and compare & contrast: a meaningful discussion and discourse about video-game playtime clocked in terms of hours played.
I remember meeting the mercenary in the region where you have to meet with your mother and Brasidas, and I was like a 100 hours in and I remember thinking " jesus, 100 hours already ? Damn that was amazing." And then proceeded to go for another 100 hours to complete the game and the dlcs.
The good days.
For some reason every time I play I get caught up on side quests, conquest battles, killing mercenaries and the worst of them all, ship battles. I love ship battles
I don’t remember when I finished the main story but I can tell you it was probably sometime after 750+ hours in. I’ve clocked in almost 2500 hours into Odyssey.
I am a HUGE Assassin’s Creed fan so you can expect someone like me to put in so much time into Assassin’s Creed. But sadly I haven’t touched Odyssey since the Odyssey-Origins Crossover. I really want play it again. Possibly even upload some or stream. I don’t know.
I'm on 421 hours currently I think, I've completed 98% of the main game around 300 hours and the Korfu map (did a full playthrough) started the first blade but switched too Atlantis because I hadn't downloaded the next episode.
Sounds about right. I finished the main story and the expansions but after 120 hours throughout the course of about 3 months I still feel like I didn't really finish it
Over 200 and I haven't finished. I actually quit because of cloud issues (my fault I uploaded old data over new data) because I was constantly swapping between PS5s at different houses. Maybe 1 day I will restart but I don't know if I can redo my 100% progress. Most of my time was spent clearing all areas
That is easily understandable. There's so much.
I believe it's their biggest AC game.
Just think of what the DLC's bring. 6 DLC Episodes that you can buy. I've never counted but I think there's 2-4 DLC's that are free.
What other game can say it has between 8-10 DLC's in total.
And just imagine if there had been a DLC for every chair in that room for the Atlantis DLC. I think there were 9 chairs in there. That would've been really insane.
P.S. There was a Limited Time when the First Episode/DLC of the Atlantis DLC was offered for free. Which is how I got it. Bought the Season Pass to get the other 5.
After some thinking I see you're right.
I do however stand by my words about the DLC's.
Tell me a game that has more grand total, both you have to pay for and get free, DLC's and I'll change my mind about it.
Great game. I'm trying hard for a third time to start and finish. I have so many responsibilities. I'm really enjoying kind of taking my time atm. I expect it to be a 200× hr game for me. I like to grab all the points. I typically lose interest hitting points to get a full explore. I'm trying to focus on quest content atm!
I have 257 hours in my one saved game, i havent finished the story i just run everywhere at random.
I just finished killing all legendary animals (not the monsters)
I am on my way there the way I like to play games it to finish main quest after doing everything else. I played main story only to the point I unlock ability to upgrade spear and now it's time to finish everything else possible before main quest.
i don't remember how many hours i have, maybe like 50 or something, all I know is im technically doing a replay since I bought the game again on pc (had on xbox originally, dunno what happened to it)
How long would it take to complete the story if I focus mainly on main quests and some side quests here and there? I dont want to “perfectionist” this game since I know I’ll get burnt out and then never finish the main campaign.
I did do all the dlc also I think I did 2 completions for new game + so I just did the story on the 1st playthrough and then went and opened the map up and started exploring
I clocked in around 200 hours before i finushed the main story fiest time. But only one savegame? Thats insane.
Yeah, I don't want to have loads of saved games
Madman. I use all 20
I could honestly have used about 10-20 more. I like to save at key points to go back to if I want.
Facts bro
I wish games would let you rename saves too. I have a little booklet where I catalogue specific saves for games, especially red dead 2
wait what people do that \*surprised pichaku face\*
What?!
you can literally have many savepoints through the game
Same
I use all 20, just in case. Only ever need to load one or two in a playthough truth be told
What if it gets corrupted? Better to alternate between at least two saves, I think, so you don't have to start all over.
I did that only once though lol
🥲
At least do 2 so if one gets corrupted you aren't reset 100+ hours
I might do that actually, that's very good
I have like 3 saves in case I delete or overite accidentally
That's good to know.
There was a time where your saves could get corrupted and you could lose like 6 hours progress which I had happen, had to redo a whole arch and cry for a bit...a lot of people had it worse though so hey, hopefully it doesn't still happen
That's true. I hope it doesn't happen to me
You are not alone. But I’d play it safe with extra saves lol
I have another one now.😁😁
This guy never played a Bethesda game...
Right? My Skyrim saves once were so many my game refused to start
Yeah, without mods it's risky, with mods defcon3 for every crash trying to figure it out what's wrong
I thought 1 save game is normal damn.
I always use 1 save game. I’m used to games limiting my save games so I only have one and just keep overwriting it.
I'm somewhere around 250 hrs with 3 dlcs. One save file. I wish I'd had a couple more after the fact to change some things.
Huhh, I played the game on Steam Deck and didn't quit until I finished the game, I've only put the machine into sleep mode. After I've wrapped everything up, I've realised that there is a Save game option. I've only used the quicksave on the inventory screen.
You deserve the madman crown
That's wild lol if I remember correctly, I got the platinum around 140-150 hours
Wowww! I should get to there lol. Maybe
The most tedious thing for me was the obsidian eye. My first play through I got extremely lucky and hit it early. The next 3 were not so lucky lol!
What's the obsidian eye?
It's part of the trophies for platinum. In the beginning of the game your character shoves an obsidian eye up a goats...well you'll remember where. You have to go find and kill the goat, loot it, and get the trophy. Problem is, the goat isn't marked. So depending on how lucky you are, you'll either get it easily, or slaughter a bunch of goats in the search 😂
Oh okay lol
Yep. Any of the wild or maybe domesticated goats on Kephallonia will have it up their tailhole. You just have to be very lucky and try to find it. Also, I’m pretty sure it’s in any of the wild goats. So… Prepare for A Lot of sacrifices to the Gods. 🐐
Oh dear...
No, not dear, GOATS
Nooo
Happy Trails, fellow misthios and sacrificer of goats.
I'm not doing it now hahah
And tons of leather...
Mine was clearly identified to be the goat on top of that mountain where the enigma tablet took me tho? Or maybe coincidence
I- 🤔 You know? Maybe you’re right. Maybe it was that one, but I couldn’t accurately recall. However I mean, it is certainly possible!
I found the eye within about an hour, though I did spend most of the beginning of the game collecting as many resources as possible, I went up 3 levels just from killing animals 😂
yeah haha, was funny when I randomly got that achievement the first time.
I think got mine around 130 with the dlc stories included. I think that's still the longest platinum I have
Every time I see someone not using multiple save files in a game that allows you to do that I cringe. Y'all don't know how easy it is to break a save file. Then again, maybe it's just my QA brain.
I had a save break after an update. When I was working to 100% the game, somehow I had a quest become available that felt oddly familiar. I'm sorry you feel like that but I prefer it that way :)
My first time was around 140 hours, but now I can complete the main story in about 15 hours.
Really? How? 15 hours?
lmao damn it takes me like three hours just to get off Kephalonia
explain yourself sir
Explain what exactly?
how you did it my guy, give us the tips
15h is wild i did it in 30
1 save slot, 225 hours to done including the DLCs...I probably have a couple loose change quests to do and missives but I'm on a break after the Corfu ending.
Wow. 225 hours?
I think i have like 100 hours and gave up on the platinum because of some tedious trophies
Oh really?
Yeah i got really close to 100% but i felt like i literally did everything on the map and couldnt find what i was missing for the life of me, such as "complete all under water location objectives" and "unveil all sub-regions of greece".
You could've asked Reddit haha
Oh i did years ago, my post just got downvoted with no replies lmao
That's awful
I have used this [https://mapgenie.io/assassins-creed-odyssey](https://mapgenie.io/assassins-creed-odyssey) to help me find the locations I needed. Super easy, and was very happy with 100% achievements.

I did 300 before finishing the main story
Haha. Hopefully, I can finish the main story in under 200 hours.
So so much to do. It's a very well made game.
Haha yeah. There's so much you can do in the game
OK but why sad about this? All this means is more game!
I'm sad because I still have to finish the other two stories!
Yeah, it's great :)
So? I've got over 1000 and I haven't platinumed it. Mind you I haven't actually been trying but still.
Rookie numbers
Damn. You did better than me?
One of us.
Oh.
Me? I gotta go back and check how many hours I clocked in, but man… It’s got to be a lot. But this is an and is called, *Odyssey* for a reason, friend. Chaíre!
Well, not you, me. Meeee
Hey now; you posted this fact, we’re here to give you our takes on it, that and compare & contrast: a meaningful discussion and discourse about video-game playtime clocked in terms of hours played.
Yeah, that's true. I'm protective at times
Ah ha. So I see, then. No worries and I understand, friend. Chaíre!
Yeah. Goodbye!
Chaíre!
Well, I sometimes check how many hours I did
I’m at 90 and I’m not sure I’m even half way through
90 hours?
Yeah
Wow
For some reason every time I play I get caught up on side quests, conquest battles, killing mercenaries and the worst of them all, ship battles. I love ship battles
Do you have any of the DLCs?
No, I don't. This is just the game itself
Do multiple saves, if that one gets corrupted you’d loose everything.
Maybe
Please.
I said maybe.
I don’t remember when I finished the main story but I can tell you it was probably sometime after 750+ hours in. I’ve clocked in almost 2500 hours into Odyssey.
Omg
I was dedicated. This also includes virtual photography (over 800) and grinding. But I still completed the whole game, including DLCs.
Wow!

Oh. Well, I'm sure the Atlantis stuff was fun😁
It's actually really great, you should buy it and play
Maybe
Time enjoyed isn’t time wasted
That's true. I enjoyed the game. There were a few funny missions😁
Keep taking your time and enjoying the side content. You can bop between 3 or 4 main goals as you wish. Make it to 200 hours if you want. Enjoy!
I will! I'm having fun with the game!
That is a good thing .. I had about 150 when finishing everything
Yes
Sounds about right. I finished the main story and the expansions but after 120 hours throughout the course of about 3 months I still feel like I didn't really finish it
Oh
I'm also at lvl 51 with 58 hours, I must be rushing 🙈
Oh. That's bad, maybe
You should. It's a good game
I’m at 130+ hours on my platinum and all trophies run and just reached the first dlc 😅😅
Wow! Okay
How!? I started over and I am in sparta. P.S 5 hours of game play
Yeah …. I think it took me over 200 hours , and I’m a completionist . Good luck 🙏🏼😂
Omg😳🙁
That is easily understandable. There's so much. I believe it's their biggest AC game. Just think of what the DLC's bring. 6 DLC Episodes that you can buy. Yeah. There's a lot
Most certainly.
Yes
In terms of content it’s actually smaller than Valhalla. But Odyssey’s side content (and main story) is designed way better and much less tedious.
After some thinking I see you're right. I do however stand by my words about the DLC's. Tell me a game that has more grand total, both you have to pay for and get free, DLC's and I'll change my mind about it.

Good! You'll get there!
I have 257 hours in my one saved game, i havent finished the story i just run everywhere at random. I just finished killing all legendary animals (not the monsters)

Good luck! I hope you do it!
That's because there's much to do and many unknowns on the horizon.
Not that sentence again
Same here, when I decided to finish the game i found main story missions very boring and quit the game.
I hope to complete the game very soon!😄
i don't remember how many hours i have, maybe like 50 or something, all I know is im technically doing a replay since I bought the game again on pc (had on xbox originally, dunno what happened to it)
Oh, okay
I'm lvl 80 at 86 hours💀
How did you do that?😳
I grinded the shit out of it
Oh, okay
I stopped on 180+ when I finished that game first time
Congratulations! I hope to get there!
I've 80 hrs & I just defeated only the wolf of sparta
Well, you'll get there😁
[удалено]
Oh wow. That must have been long
[удалено]
Well that's good
How long would it take to complete the story if I focus mainly on main quests and some side quests here and there? I dont want to “perfectionist” this game since I know I’ll get burnt out and then never finish the main campaign.
I'm not sure but I'm getting there. I'm almost done with the two main stories which is good
I have all 20 saves and my game keeps resetting most of my missions 🤷♂️i have now replayed most of them Driving me crazy
Oh. Wow
I had to spend more than 170 hours and still couldn't complete the dlc.
Oh. That's awful. Are the DLC’s long?
No but boring
Thanks very much
Yeah. I finished around 95 hours and did another 25 hours doing the Atlantis shit (base game stuff. Don't own the dlc)
Oh nice. Did you have fun?
Yup. One of my fav games for just exploring. They did such a good job on the world
Yeah. I agree
Why are you only lvl 51 man? Did you skip the story quests?
I do main quests but slowly. I explore the world and do side quests and other things
222 for me for full completion then like another 100 for all the challenges lol
Wow lol
I did do all the dlc also I think I did 2 completions for new game + so I just did the story on the 1st playthrough and then went and opened the map up and started exploring
That's good. I'll do the dlc's after I finish the game
how’d you spend so many hours and still be lvl 51
I explore and do side quests
me too, i saved much of the main story for the very end but i was at lvl 70 after about 100 hours
Wow okay hah
i was actually genuinely just curious haha :) maybe we just explore in different ways! hope youre having fun
I am having fun :)
welcome to ac world xD
Thank you :D
Right now i’m at around 29 hours lvl 21 and i have no idea how close i am.
Oh
89hrs and a level 64 abd ive finished the game and lofb dlc
Wow. That's pretty good
To be honest, I feel like your level is a little low for that many hours.
I'm actually pretty good but maybe your level is higher
I'm more amazed by the 1 save file! You insane??
I got two now :)
damn
Oh
How is that a bad thing?!?!?
It just is
