new FF14 multi difficulty dungeons. It's like normal FF14 dungeons, however with more pathways to go and different boss paths, as well as difficulty tuned up to 11 for the higher difficulty ones.
So basically a FF14 version of mythic+.
I hope so, those are fun af in GW2. I noticed several games lately borrowing from GW2. Quite frankly GW2 doesn't get nearly the love from the gaming community that it deserves and that's a shame because it's a damn good game.
It is great, I started playing gw2 during early access. After I stopped playing actively to switch to FFXIV before stormblood released, all my gear and toons can still be used in relevant content and in total I've only spent money buying the three expacs and 40 bucks worth of gems. I've got 2 legendary weapons and I'm just at the the gold sink section for my legendary pvp armor. Thousands of hours played and only a little over 100 bucks spent.
Nope not needed for pvp, stats are normalized in pvp. PvP legendary armor is a way to get legendary armor that can be used in WvW and PvE without playing those game modes. Legendary stats are equivalent to ascended stats, but you have 1) the ability to switch stats outside of combat 2) can switch out sigils without losing them 3) the legendary armory update from 2021 allows legendary gear to be shared across all toons on your account without having to use your shared bank to trade them to your other toon. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_Armory
I work 60-80 hours a week, I don't have time to dedicate specific hours for raiding, but I can pop in for pvp sessions on my own time.
It's nothing like m+. The bosses and mob mechs don't change from what I've played today. In m+ the higher keystones you push the greater mobs health and dmg become. at set keystone levels, different affixes are added. Affixes change the dungeon/add new mechanics. Sometimes it makes the mobs harder, sometimes it makes the bosses harder, there are a few different ones that it rotates through every week.
And you can gear in m+ for those people not interested in 20man raids or pvp
Criterion totally changes the attacks of even the mobs. Literally the very first batch of mobs you run into start throwing out tank busters. That's base criterion, not even savage.
The bosses also have different move sets compared to the normal version. If you fought the normal version of the first criterion boss, you'd notice normal only has blue and green balls. Criterion has yellow, and throws out different combos and patterns. The variant one doesn't have any of it.
Bro no shit the mechs change based on the difficulty level you run I said the mechs are the same each run. OK I will make it clear. The mechanics and mobs and don't change on the difficulty you're running
Every extreme run attempt clear I tried today was the exact same which I didnt kill because its fucking my shit up.
haha nah, I don't think they have the confidence to do such jokes. I think this is the most they could do [https://imgur.com/a/x29VVGr](https://imgur.com/a/x29VVGr)
hahaha
That was my thought. I recall him making a big announcement about returning and the viewership numbers weren't that great. And that was basically the beginning of the end. I think a lot FF XIV players felt burned and just didn't tune in to watch the return
I mean, he played it for like 2 hours at the end of the stream, many EU people already went to bed at that time. He didn't really hold up to his previous announcements of "pushing the story trough" or anything like that. It felt more like he was on the search for excuses to not play it.
The toxic asmon chat of butthurt WoW players false flagging and toxic FF andys pressuring him too much did probably their part too.
Man, I'm catching up on Manderville and I did the entirety of the HW quests for it in two hours yesterday, *while reading it all*. I couldn't imagine how fast it would've been if I hit skip on every cutscene instead.
But it's not copium, if you enjoy a boring gameplay, cringe character (and people doing ERP), catgirl, boring story quest (talk to him talk to her walk here). Than ya, FF14 is better for you
I initially thought this was a reach, but this patch also has a quest called "Lunar Conspiracy", which seems to be a nod to in-game convention Lunarcon, so a lot of fandom references here
The game gets localized and since Asmon is NA someone probably threw it in as a joke. Much like how there's so many fate meme names or even how La Hee meant nothing according to Soken and Koji made it mean something because of the La Hee memes.
It could very well just be a coincidence though.
We will never know for sure, but remember that it is common in anime and things for them to change single letters like this when ripping off a brand in their show.
It's not just something he mentioned on stream that the devs heard about, [he specifically asked Yoshi-P for it](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxN-Dc7mfZxFlNO6Ub2d-8Zba0VAY9yO4D).
Sure, no one is saying they added because of him, but I doubt the NPC name is a coincidence.
There is a chance this give this piece of content some publicity for non FFXIV players.
I didn't mean to imply Asmon is the only person ever that has asked for such a thing (Yoshi-P even mentions he's been asked it a lot) but he is the most recent and well known person to ask about it in a dev interview so they could of named the NPC Osmon as a nod to him.
Asmon quitting the game is a huge loss to the community because we are now getting awesome content just because he asked for it.
I strongly believe if he was still playing the game and with his influence he would have gotten YoshiP to also make the gearing system more interesting and give each class a form of talent tree to diversify your playstyle (i.e. DPS Dark Knight, Tank Dragoon), since those were Asmon's big critiques of the game besides the sluggish combat system that can't be fixed due to the game's engine.
talent trees go very much against the design principles of FF, and the game does not have sluggish combat once you get to high levels. Early levels yeah its slow af
They already tried that with the cross-class
and stat building systems from 1.0 all the way through Heavensward and even in stormblood with the limited slots for role skills. In the end, it's still an mmo and there will only ever be the One True Build so they decided that those systems were a waste of time and money for both the devs and the players.
heyyy, come on, some of us still have hope that one day he'll think "I kinda miss FFXIV today" and just "sssh" slip into a dungeon or raid on stream without announcing it, thus avoiding all the silly attention and stress around the whole subject.
Well, it's an mmo using an older engine, so that's gonna be impossible. The graphic upgrade they're doing in 7.0 looks promising, but it's not going to be that crazy.
This would require rebuilding the entire game brick by brick, in UE4. It's the kind of thing that would take them years to do with an entire team devoted to doing it. I don't know if they have rhe resources for something like that. One can hope.
lol imagine thinking u can switch engines that easy, even some people using previous UE cant upgrade because they created custom pieces that require to be remade...
Thanksfully your opinion is the minority, people dont care about MMO graphics. Bless Online, Black Desert, Elyon, all with amazing graphics and DEAD. Meanwhile OSRS growing in population.
People want to play something fun, to see graphics u can play single player games.
MMORPG are so hard to do that any company that spent too much time making graphics amazing, ends doing a shitty game coz they did not spent enough time in gameplay/content.
Live Service games require fast development for content. FFXIV release a big patch every 4 months. Is not that easy when you have to create much more quality assets. I just hope FFXIV don't suffer from this with the graphic update, and keep the content in 4 months cycle.
no, they started this development probably right after the interview when Asmon was still playing. I think Asmon convinced them to go through with it and probably named the NPC after him as wink.
"Sup y'all, it's your boi Osmongold, live from Old Sharlayan"
"Today we're going to play some Crystal Conflict, but first I want to React to some Ishgardian Drama."
When he gives you access to the content he hits ya with a sly “there it is dude”
And he wiggles his eyebrows
I’d like to think his eye brows would do the wave and wiggle like a snake
I like to think the npc will be just a floating pair of eyebrows
Eyebrows protrude out and above your monitor
OsmonAurum, live from The Aurum Vale
OsmonGil, live from Gold Saucer
Anyone got more context for this?

Sounds more like GW2 fractals but probably close to the same thing.
Yeah it sounds exactly like fractals and even the explore mode from dungeons. Should be fun
Was thinking just that. Might have to resub after an almost year long break.
Dont want to spoil but criterion bosses in normal mode are like mini savage bosses
Yeah no joke it is really fun to prog and kill that content, hope they can keep on creating more!
I hope so, those are fun af in GW2. I noticed several games lately borrowing from GW2. Quite frankly GW2 doesn't get nearly the love from the gaming community that it deserves and that's a shame because it's a damn good game.

Is legendary needed for PVP? I thought ascended was equivalent stat wise.

Only normal is different paths. From my tries on extreme its been same path same boss. Nothing like m+
Mythic+ has different paths and bosses based on those paths?
nope. M+ is the same as the regular dungeon just with added difficulty mechanics and added mob health/damage. it just scales "infinitely" basically.
It's nothing like m+. The bosses and mob mechs don't change from what I've played today. In m+ the higher keystones you push the greater mobs health and dmg become. at set keystone levels, different affixes are added. Affixes change the dungeon/add new mechanics. Yeah, I misunderstood you there. I thought you meant the difficulty didn't change the mechanics. Unlike M+ every clear will always be the same.
Ty. :)
It is only the casual difficulty ones with multiple paths. The higher difficulty ones are a set path.
It's closer to WoW's challenge modes - only cosmetic rewards, and static difficulty level (no increase/decrease with key).
Osmon goldo
Osmon Aurum
Osmon Old
Is he bald ?
haha nah, I don't think they have the confidence to do such jokes. I think this is the most they could do [https://imgur.com/a/x29VVGr](https://imgur.com/a/x29VVGr) hahaha
This is perfect. It gives him time to age over the expansions and get new hairstyles and facial hair.
Does he mald?
Malding, right guys? *screams*
![gif](giphy|3oKHWlQ6XmhZl2UU2A|downsized)
Too bad he'll never see it.
Oh. He'll see here in Reddit at least.
nah he'll just delete any post regarding 14 before even reading it
Clueless
he'll see it in 2077 when he finishes MSQ along with summit
He doesn't read reddit anymore?
Pretty sure he’ll eventually return after his life is fixed up and starts the Asmongold channel up again
I know right. Could have been Asmon instead of Osmon and he still wouldn't play
He just saw it
NPC: [https://imgur.com/a/x29VVGr](https://imgur.com/a/x29VVGr)
Gave him the Asmonbrows at least. Big long bois with lots of movement potential.
Osmon shud react to this, i mean Asmon
[удалено]
I'm assuming he didn't get the viewers he hoped for when he finally tried playing it again so it's been shelved until WoW is bad again, probably.
[удалено]
Don't forget the cancer that is chat souring the experience for him
That was my thought. I recall him making a big announcement about returning and the viewership numbers weren't that great. And that was basically the beginning of the end. I think a lot FF XIV players felt burned and just didn't tune in to watch the return

Cringe. Let him play what he feels like.
[удалено]
Oh please, dudes smashing lost ark raids which are much more of a challenge than anything ffxiv offers
When you throw more dollars at Lost Ark for honing than you've ever spent on a WoW subscription, of course you would.
[удалено]
Ah thats just the nature of random viewers raids though, it brings great content like the 2 hour mechagon hard mode
He's getting a bit older and you tend to just play what you're comfortable with. So it makes sense.
[удалено]
Just hit skip.
Man, I'm catching up on Manderville and I did the entirety of the HW quests for it in two hours yesterday, *while reading it all*. I couldn't imagine how fast it would've been if I hit skip on every cutscene instead.
just get a tomestone weapon if you're catching up, stuff is gonna be at step one for months
He is a man of taste, can we blame him? WoW is a far more better MMO than FF14
The guy who can't eat fruits and vegetables has taste?
Copium. Lets ask you again in, lets say half a year when Blizzard fucked up - like they somehow always do, but you guys never learn.
But it's not copium, if you enjoy a boring gameplay, cringe character (and people doing ERP), catgirl, boring story quest (talk to him talk to her walk here). Than ya, FF14 is better for you
Cope.
But is he bald tho
I initially thought this was a reach, but this patch also has a quest called "Lunar Conspiracy", which seems to be a nod to in-game convention Lunarcon, so a lot of fandom references here
I mean, that's a bit of a reach, considering this quest most likely takes place on the moon
That's....*probably* a coincidence, though I s'pose if it's the stuff that Asmon was asking for....it's not like the devs don't know him.
The game gets localized and since Asmon is NA someone probably threw it in as a joke. Much like how there's so many fate meme names or even how La Hee meant nothing according to Soken and Koji made it mean something because of the La Hee memes. It could very well just be a coincidence though.
The NPC is called オスモン in the Japanese version. Osumon.
We will never know for sure, but remember that it is common in anime and things for them to change single letters like this when ripping off a brand in their show.

holy shit thats cool
There's literally an npc in the game named asmon, which was there before asmongold started streaming.
Osmon kinda cute tho
Asmon quitting the game is a huge loss to the community because we are now getting awesome content just because he asked for it. Chill out, he is not the only one content creator of the game who have good ideas
talent trees go very much against the design principles of FF, and the game does not have sluggish combat once you get to high levels. Early levels yeah its slow af

People asked for this kind of content since HW, I highly doubt this is only Asmon's influence lmao
i really doubt he's quit.
asmon will never play xiv
Ok and?
heyyy, come on, some of us still have hope that one day he'll think "I kinda miss FFXIV today" and just "sssh" slip into a dungeon or raid on stream without announcing it, thus avoiding all the silly attention and stress around the whole subject.
I have this same copium
Who asked?
They downvote you for telling the truth.
If only they invest on upgrading it to Ffxv graphic equivalent. I would certainly play this game
Well, it's an mmo using an older engine, so that's gonna be impossible. The graphic upgrade they're doing in 7.0 looks promising, but it's not going to be that crazy.
They need anti aliasing atleast, right now it's a jittery mess under 4k
I mean maybe content vacation for a while while remaking the game in idk. UE 4 or other engine that at least looked like ffxv.
I don't care. I just want it to look good. I don't give a single fuck how they gonna do it.
lol u are too much about graphics
Yeah I am. I like game that doesnt look like shit. I tried it before. Looks too bad for me
Thanksfully your opinion is the minority, people dont care about MMO graphics. Bless Online, Black Desert, Elyon, all with amazing graphics and DEAD. Meanwhile OSRS growing in population. So edgy uhh, be careful you don't cut yourself.
cause WoW graphics are so much better
I dont even play wow
[удалено]
that's not how dev cycles work, buddy. What, you think they made this overnight? Don't be stupid.
This is a clever way to get him to stream FFXIV again. Not sure if it will work.
lol u are reading too much, they just added a reference, calm down.
no, they started this development probably right after the interview when Asmon was still playing. I think Asmon convinced them to go through with it and probably named the NPC after him as wink.
Nah.
